scientists studied patients who had heart disease. Some patients were told to volunteer. The patients who

volunteered were happier and healthier than the others. As a result of the research, scientists began
recommending volunteerism (志愿服务).
Each of us experiences pain, sadness, and loneliness. One of the best ways to overcome these feelings is
to help others who are experiencing difficulty. Thinking about others all the time is not going to solve all
your problems, but it is nice to know that by helping other s, you can help yourself, too.
