Step 1 Lead-in Have students review what they have learned about the places of interest in Beijing. Step 2 Read and think Have students read the table about Daniel’s plan for the exchange students in Part A on page 38. Then have students answer the following question. What kind of information can you get from the table Have students read the table again and answer the questions in Part A. Step 3 Listen, write and speak Have students read the table about places at the Palace Museum in Part B on page 38 and answer the following question. What kind of information can you get from the table Have students read the tip in Part B and summarize how to listen about a place. My hometown is Nanjing. It is an amazing city with a long history and rich cultures in the east of China.
When you visit Nanjing, you should go to the beautiful Xuanwu Lake Park. There you can row a boat on the lake and enjoy the wonderful view. The Confucius Temple is also a nice place to visit. You can take a walk around the area and learn about traditional Chinese culture.
There is a lot of delicious food in the city. Don’t miss Nanjing salted duck. It is a great dish.
