My Favourite Festival
My favourite festival is the Lantern Festival. It is celebrated on the 15th day of the first lunar month, usually in February or March.
On this day, people eat sweet rice balls called yuanxiao, which means family reunion. At night, colourful lanterns light up streets and parks. Some lanterns are shaped like animals or flowers.
My family and I always go out to admire them. There are also fun activities like guessing lantern riddles. People write riddles on paper and put them on lanterns. If you guess the answer, you can win small prizes. I love trying to guess them with my friends!
