(2025·山西晋中·模拟预测)“The AI agents have landed,” said Kevin Roose in the New York Times. “I
recently downloaded OpenAI’s newest feature, Operator. I typed in a request, ‘Buy me a 30-pound bag of dog
food,’ and watched in silence. After a few clarifying questions, it put the dog food in the cart, asked me for final
confirmation, and placed the order. It was interesting to witness. Over time, though, the feature became a bit
boring. It asked for so many confirmations and reassurances that humans could have done the tasks much faster
themselves.”
“And we’ll have to think hard about the fact that giving AI unchecked authority may lead to unintended
consequences,” said Geoffrey Fowler in The Washington Post. OpenAI says it prevents Operator from getting
your credit card information, but that doesn’t stop the AI agent from clicking “purchase” on a website on which
your card is stored. “I asked Operator to find the cheapest set of a dozen eggs I can have delivered. The AI agent
found eggs for $31. Worse still, the purchase was done without my approval. It was the first time I had
experienced an erratic computer making an autonomous decision that cost me a lot.”
“Operator did work better for me, choosing a nice flower arrangement,” said Joanna Stern in The Wall
Street Journal. “But the cutting-edge features might distract you from practical, immediate AI uses. I pay $20 a
month for OpenAI’ s ChatGPT, and find it helpful for its active help. I’m writing a book and have hired a real
human assistant who can concentrate on the complex tasks, because ChatGPT just handles some repetitive work.”
Indeed, AI agents hold immense transformative potential across industries, from healthcare and education
to finance and automation, but their development is accompanied by significant challenges that must be carefully
treated. Humans can adopt a rational (理性的) perspective toward them, prioritizing feature that address practical
needs rather than blindly chasing cutting-edge gimmicks (噱头).
1.Why did Kevin Roose become impatient with Operator gradually
A.It required too many confirmations. B.It charged extra fees for its services.
C.It failed to find the correct product. D.It could not understand his request.
2.What does the underlined word “erratic” in paragraph 2 probably mean
A.Uncontrolled. B.Authorized. C.Outdated. D.Overworked.
3.What can be inferred from Joanna Stern’s statement
A.AI can free people from difficult work.
B.Humans are still needed for complicated work.
C.ChatGPT is unsuitable for both simple and complex tasks.
D.High-end AI agents are more reliable than human workers.
4.What’s the author’s suggestion for dealing with AI agents
A.Avoid using AI technology due to its potential risks.
B.Apply AI technology across as many industries as possible.
C.Emphasize the real-world needs over fashionable AI trends.
D.Focus mainly on developing the most advanced AI models.

(24-25 高三下·河南·阶段练习)A new study published in Nature Medicine has revealed a significant link
between diet and healthy aging. The study focused on how maintaining a diet rich in plant-based foods, along with
a low to moderate (适度的) intake of healthy animal-based foods and a reduced intake of highly processed foods,
can lead to healthy aging. Healthy aging, in this context, means reaching 70 years old without major ongoing
diseases and maintaining good physical, and mental health.
Previous studies investigated dietary patterns in the context of specific diseases or people’s lifespan (寿命).
This research takes a broader view. Frank Hu, a professor at Harvard Chan School, said, “Our study asks how diet
impacts people’s ability to live independently and enjoy a good quality of life as they age.”
The researchers analyzed data from over 105,000 women and men aged 39-69 in the Nurses’ Health Study
and the Health Professionals Follow-Up Study over 30 years. Participants regularly filled out dietary question
sheets, which were scored based on their following of eight healthy dietary patterns. These patterns emphasized
high intake of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and more. The study also evaluated the intake of over-processed
foods, which are often unhealthy.
The study found that 9.3% of the participants aged healthfully. Among the healthy diets, those with the
highest AHEI (Alternative Healthy Eating Index) scores had a much greater likelihood of healthy aging compared
to those with the lowest scores. Another beneficial diet was the Planetary Health Diet Index (PHDI). Alternatively,
higher intake of highly-processed foods was related to lower probabilities of healthy aging.
Co-corresponding author Marta Guasch-Ferré stated that research on healthy aging is crucial as staying
active and independent matters for both individuals and public health. The lead author, Anne-Julie Tessier, added
that there’s no one-size-fits-all diet, and healthy diets can be adjusted according to personal needs. Despite its
contributions, the study only included health professionals, and further research among diverse populations is
needed.
1.What did past studies mainly tell us
A.Diet shapes the quality of the life of the old.
B.Diet affects healthy aging through food intake.
C.Diet determines one’s independent living ability.
D.Diet patterns can influence how long people live.
2.How is the study conducted
A.By analyzing existing data. B.By doing lots of surveys.
C.By carrying out experiments. D.By making comparisons.
3.What does the result of the new study tell us
A.Processed foods shorten humans’ lives.
B.Low PHDI scores reduce aging odds.
C.High PHDI scores ensure that one ages well.
D.AHEI scores top others for healthy aging.
4.What does Anne-Julie Tessier say about the new study
A.It holds true everywhere. B.It has certain limitations.
C.It suggests a healthier diet. D.It possesses deep meaning.
【答案】1.D 2.A 3.C 4.B

(2025·陕西渭南·二模)Recently, Earth grabbed itself a second moon in the form of a newly discovered
asteroid (小行星) named 2024 PT5. Unlike the moon, Earth’s primary companion which has accompanied our
planet for around 4.5 billion years, this “new mini-moon” will stick around for just two months before it heads
back to its home in an asteroid belt following our planet and orbiting the sun.
A team of scientists spotted 2024 PT5 as they routinely monitored newly discovered objects around Earth.
“The asteroid paying us a visit belongs to the Arjuna asteroid belt, a secondary asteroid belt made of space rocks
that follow the orbit very similar to that of Earth at an average distance to the sun of about 150 million kilometers,”
said research lead author Carlos de la Fuente Marcos.
Marcos explained that some of these asteroids in the Arjuna asteroid belt can approach Earth at a close
range of around 4.5 million kilometers and at low speeds of around 3,540 kilometers per hour. “Under these
conditions, one of these asteroids may be captured by Earth’s gravity and become a temporary moon of Earth. The
asteroid 2024 PT5 will undergo this process for about two months,” Marcos added. “It will not follow a full orbit
around Earth.”
Mini-moon events come in two flavors. The first is about long episodes during which the asteroid
completes one or more revolutions about our planet, with these gravitational engagements (引力作用) lasting one
or more years. The second type of episodes is short engagements in which the small body does not complete one
full revolution. These temporary captures can last just days, weeks or even a few months. Short mini-moon events
are relatively frequent, with several events happening per decade. Long mini-moon events, on the other hand, are
rare with Earth experiencing one around every ten or twenty years.
Unfortunately, during its occupation around Earth, 2024 PT5 won’t be visible to the vast majority of sky
watchers. “The asteroid is too small and dark for typical amateur telescopes. However, it is well within the
brightness range of typical telescopes by professional astronomers,” Marcos said.
1.How long will the asteroid 2024 PT5 stay near Earth
A.Over a decade. B.About two months.
C.Less than a week. D.Around 4.5 billion years.
2.What makes 2024 PT5 a “mini moon” rather than a true moon
A.It lacks a stable orbit around Earth. B.It is smaller than other asteroids.
C.It moves faster than Earth’s moon. D.It reflects too little light to be seen.
3.What writing technique is used to explain mini-moon events
A.Definition. B.Classification. C.Comparison. D.Illustration.
4.What can we infer from Marcos’ words from the last paragraph
A.The asteroid 2024 PT5 is unusually bright.
B.Sky watchers should purchase advanced telescopes.
C.Professional knowledge is needed for asteroid observation.
D.Amateur telescopes are not powerful to observe 2024 PT5.
【答案】1.B 2.A 3.B 4.D

(2025·四川宜宾·三模)At a Berlin trade fair for sustainability, a new gadget (小物件) caught Waltraud
Berg’s eye — a solar panel small enough to be simply installed on the side of a balcony to feed energy produced
by the sun directly into her home.
“I was absolutely thrilled to learn that such a thing even existed, that you can generate your own power and
be more independent, ” said Ms. Berg, a retiree who installed several panels on the balcony of her Berlin
apartment by herself.
Each lightweight panel produces only enough electricity to charge a laptop or run a small refrigerator. But
in homes across Germany, they are powering a quiet transformation, bringing the green revolution into the hands
of people without requiring them to make a large investment, find an electrician or use heavy tools.
Over 500, 000 of the systems have already been set up across Germany, and new laws that relaxed rules
around solar panel installation have contributed to a boom in use.
“We are seeing a continuous increase in solar installations in particular, ” said Klaus Müller, president of
the agency. “Compared to the total capacity at the end of 2023, almost 10 percent more solar capacity was added.
Of that, two-thirds was installed on buildings, which includes balcony systems. ”
“Some of the solar panels sold in Germany are made by European companies, but most are produced in
China, ” said Nicholas, an analyst with Rystad Energy. “Small-scale panels have benefited from the same
economies of scale that China’s solar manufacturing system has at its disposal. ”
“We are seeing more diversity, more older people and more women, ” said Christian, founder of an
enterprise that promotes small-scale solar use. A growing user group is young people with families who are
concerned about climate change.
“They say they want to make a contribution, ” Mr. Christian said. “Even if it amounts to savings of less
than ?100 a year, they will gladly take it because it’s for the next generation. ”
1.What is the main advantage of the new gadget
A.Lower cost. B.Quick charge. C.Easy installation. D.High energy output.
2.How does the author highlight the popularity of the solar panels
A.By listing figures. B.By presenting ideas.
C.By analyzing causes. D.By showing examples.
3.What is young people’s attitude to the new trend
A.Neutral. B.Favorable. C.Opposing. D.Indifferent.

(2025·四川达州·二模)Last December, researchers at the National Ignition Facility(NIF)had made a
breakthrough in fusion (核聚变)energy, the same chemical process that powers the stars and our sun. They had
succeeded in producing the first laboratory fusion reaction that produces more energy than it takes to cause the
reaction. It made headlines around the world.
At extremely high temperatures and pressure, the atoms break into their components — nuclei (原子核)
and electrons. This kind of positive nuclei and negative electrons is referred to as plasma (等 离 子 体 ). It is
considered the fourth state of matter, the other three being solid, liquid and gas. Fusion is a process that takes
place in the plasma state. The process of fusion produces a huge amount of energy which, in turn, causes further
fusion reactions.
Our sun is incredibly efficient in producing fusion energy; its huge mass creates the pressure and
temperatures needed to keep the reaction going. Earth can’t recreate the high pressure and temperature conditions
of the sun, so scientists must find techniques in laboratories to start the reaction.
The NIF experiment successfully proved that fusion isn’t just a theoretical concept: we are able to create an
energy source that is self-sustaining. Fusion also has the advantage — it does not cause radioactive waste.
However, despite billions of dollars of government funding put into fusion research, we are still decades
away from fusion-produced electricity. Humans have produced fusion reactions in the past, with nuclear bombs.
But in bombs, the energy is released too quickly. Scientists will need to figure out how to release energy in a
controlled and consistent manner for regular use.
Even if we can overcome challenges in the development, will fusion be able to compete with solar and
wind power for cost and availability The future of fusion may not be clear at the moment, but it is truly brilliant
for science and society to see the power of the sun come to life in a lab setting.
1.What facts have we learned about the first laboratory fusion reaction
A.It was a big success. B.It escaped public attention.
C.It produced less energy than expected. D.It introduced the fourth state of matter.
2.What is a big advantage of fusion energy
A.It depends on the sun. B.It can be clean energy.
C.It is an unexpected energy source. D.It works under normal conditions.
3.What can be implied about producing fusion energy in paragraph 5
A.It faces some challenges now. B.It isn’t supported by governments.
C.It may cause very dangerous consequences. D.It cannot compete with solar and wind power.
4.Which statement would the author most likely agree with
A.The future of fusion is clear and bright.
B.Fusion energy will be the main energy one day.
C.The present achievements in fusion energy are remarkable.
D.The experimental techniques are essential to producing fusion energy.
【答案】1.A 2.B 3.A 4.C

3 When we purchase artwork directly from local artists or attend their performances and events,
we invest in the livelihoods of individuals who enrich our neighborhoods and contribute to the local economy.
Mass-produced goods often benefit large companies and distant supply chains. Supporting local artists ensures
that a greater proportion of our financial resources circulate within the community, improving economic resilience
(恢复力) and energy. 4 In this way we help create jobs and opportunities for promising artists,
strengthening the creative ecosystem for future generations.
Local artists serve as managers of our collective cultural identity and heritage. 5 Whether
drawing inspiration from ancestral folklore (民间传说), regional landscapes, or contemporary social issues, local
artists offer a lens through which we can explore and celebrate the diverse tapestry of human experience.
By supporting local artists, we favour the value of cultural expression and the power of art to transcend
boundaries and unite communities.
A.Local culture is a valuable treasure remaining to be found.
B.They enrich the cultural landscape and deserve our huge backup.
C.We tend to see distant art exhibitions to broaden our narrow horizons.
D.We are advised to visit local art galleries, studios and performance venues.

The worldwide network of Little Free Libraries covers 128 countries and all seven continents. Schools
receiving these libraries and books were selected through an application process, and all students in the schools
are welcome to take the books home at no cost.
“Many of our students have no books at home, and transportation barriers prevent families from reaching
the public library,” said a representative from participating school Somerset Lakes Academy in West Palm Beach,
Florida. “A Little Free Library will serve as a crucial bridge, providing ongoing access to literature for these
students, their parents, and the community.”
“Literacy is the gateway to learn one’s past and present, and shape the future,” said Dr. Kenneth O. Turner
Jr, a school’s principal. “Little Free Library is opening the gateway to as many people as possible.”

4.What does the case of balcony solar panels mirror
A.Traditional power demand is declining. B.Small solutions push big sustainability.
C.Policy support contributes to the transition. D.The supply of solar panels is the key factor.

When I was growing up, Pippa, my childhood cat, was a big part of my life. During my childhood, she, my
beloved cat, played a significant role in my life. She was affectionate and would welcome me home from school.
Her passing due to illness had a great impact on me, leading me to decide that when I had my own home, I’d
adopt a similar cat.
In the previous summer, I bought my flat in London and was prepared to adopt. I discovered Simba via
Cats Protection, a charity devoted to aiding homeless animals. The cat Simba caught my eye within minutes, and I
couldn’t say the reason behind it. Maybe it was the lasting of my love for Pippa. The website stated her age as 27,
which I thought at first was a mistake and believed it should be 17. However, when informed she was available
for adoption at 27, I immediately adopted her.
Simba is a small indoor cat who looks for attention. She’s extremely friendly and will immediately settle on
anyone’s lap. The balcony is her favorite spot, especially on sunny days. She sticks to a regular schedule: rising at
6 am for breakfast, napping, awakening for afternoon treats, and then more naps. She has particular toys she
enjoys. Once I’m in bed, she climbs onto my chest and then sleeps off on my lap, later relocating near my feet for
the rest of the night.
One day, I learned that Simba was the world’s oldest living cat when someone from Cats Protection
informed me. The charity had obtained the vet’s records proving her birth in December 1995. I was amazed, yet
didn’t expect the high level of that attention. Guinness World Records visited to take photos, and a week later,
images of Simba and me were widespread, encouraging many heartwarming responses.

Ten years ago in Toronto, winter brought more than just cold winds for Jackson. One day, he was involved
in a car accident that left him with a severely injured leg. The doctor said he needed months to recover, which
meant he had to stay at home.
Jackson’s family was already struggling financially, and his inability to work only made things worse. They
barely had enough money for food, let alone warm clothes for the cold winter. Every day felt like a battle, and the
weight of their situation pressed heavily on Jackson’s shoulders. He often found himself staring out the window,
watching the snow fall and feeling a deep sense of helplessness.
Jackson’s neighbor, Lucas, was a kind-hearted man who always looked out for others. When he heard
about Jackson’s situation, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he needed to do something. Lucas had seen Jackson’s
family struggling, and it tugged (拽 ) at his heart. He decided to organize a clothing donation drive in the
community. With a determined spirit, he went door to door, explaining Jackson’s situation and asking for spare
winter clothes or financial contributions. To his surprise, the response was positive. People from all around the
neighborhood generously donated warm coats, scarves, gloves, and even some money. Each donation felt like a
small victory, a step towards helping his friend.
A few days later, Lucas gathered all the donations and brought them to Jackson’s house. Jackson was
overwhelmed with gratitude as he opened the boxes filled with clothes and saw the envelope of money. His eyes
welled up with tears, and his voice trembled with emotion as he said, “Thank you so much, Lucas. This means
more to me than you could ever know.” Lucas just smiled and said, “We are like family. I’m just glad I could help.”
At that moment, Jackson felt a warmth in his heart that the winter cold couldn’t touch. He realized that even in his
darkest times, there were people who cared.
