Artificial Intelligence (AI) has changed students’ lives and study a lot. With AI tools, learning seems to be easier, but students must be careful when using them to stay away from problems. Let’s find out how AI influences education.
Studies show that 65% of middle school students now use AI tools for learning. They turn to technology to complete schoolwork with less time. Photo-solving apps help students find answers three times faster, but studies show 40% of the students just copy answers without thinking.
Three popular tools show AI’s power in education. ChatGPT explains difficult topics like space science in simple words. DeepSeek, a Chinese writing helper, gives advice to improve vocabulary and logic (逻辑) in articles. Another tool, Doubao, acts like a homework guide — ask it “Why do plants need sunlight ” and it explains biology ideas with examples.
By using these tools, students can solve problems in different subjects. However, always asking AI tools for answers without thinking may stop you from coming up with creative ideas. If students use AI to write passages every day, they might forget why practicing writing matters. Also, too much screen time causes health problems. Doctors say students using AI over 2 hours daily get 1.8 times more eye pain.
It’s helpful to set clear rules for yourself. For example, try solving a math problem yourself for 10 minutes before using apps to check answers. When writing, use ChatGPT only for ideas but organize them yourself. Also, noticing your time spent on AI tools and trying to use it for less than 1 hour daily can not only relax your eyes but also give you a break to improve your work with your creativity.
Let’s use AI tools wisely.

Food safety is important and it doesn’t end at our door. Eating food not kept correctly could make you fall sick. The fridge may be a perfect choice for keeping food safe and fresh, but it is not a magic box to keep all kinds of food. Here are some useful tips may help you!
The temperature in the fresh-keeping area can be different from shelf (搁板) to shelf. The higher the shelf is, the higher the temperature will be. So make use of these different temperatures to get the best out of your food by keeping it on the right shelf. Try to put ready-to-eat food like burgers, pizza or cream cakes on top shelves. The middle shelves are most suitable for dairy products (乳制品) such as cheese, butter, yogurt and eggs. Bottom shelves are the coldest part of the fridge, making them perfect for keeping raw (生的) meat and seafood. Some fridges have a freezer (冷冻室) for keeping these things, so of course make use of that if you have one.
Keeping food in the fridge does not kill bacteria (细菌) but it can stop the bacteria from growing fast. Bacteria can grow quickly in temperatures between 5℃ and 60℃. This is called the Temperature Danger Zone. If you want to get the most out of your food, the temperature in your fridge needs to be between 0℃ and.5℃. The freezer temperature should be below -18℃.
Everyone should pay attention to food safety. Hope these tips can help you keep your food fresh for as long as possible.

It was a windy afternoon. No one was sitting on the park bench (长凳). I went over and sat down. I was so disappointed with my life.
Just then, a young boy walked up to me and stood in front of me. In great excitement, he said, “Look at what I found!” He had a dying flower in his hand. Then he sat down next to me and put the flower near his nose. He said, “It smells good and it's beautiful, too. That's why I picked it. It's for you."
The flower was all dried out for too much sunlight. But I knew I must take it. If not, he might never leave. So, I reached for the flower, and said, “Thank you. It's just what I need.”
But he didn't put the flower in my hand right away. He still held it in the air. It was then that I noticed that the boy was blind. What a poor kid! My eyes were wet.
He put the flower in my hand carefully and smiled, “You're welcome.” With joy on his face, he left.
I wondered how he knew I was there and how he knew about my sadness. Perhaps in his heart he had true sight (视力). For all of those times I myself had been blind towards the world around me. I realized my problem was not with anybody, but with myself.
Then I held that flower up to my nose and breathed in the fragrance (香气) of a beautiful rose. I decided and promised to value every second that belongs to me.

“Hey! Did you hear what happened to Grace last weekend ” Helen asks Alice quietly.
With her eyes shining, Alice answers, “Haha, you know I did. Cindy told me yesterday.”
What are Helen and Cindy talking about I can tell you what they are saying doesn’t seem to be nice and true most of the time. In fact, Helen and Cindy are the same as most of the students here at Lingtong Middle School, including me. Many of our conversations are gossip (八卦). I have noticed the effects of gossip.
An important negative (消极的) effect of gossip is that it can hurt the person we talk about. Usually, gossip spreads information about the relationships between a boy and a girl, the trouble at home, etc. The more embarrassing or shameful the secret is, the more people the gossip attracts. Probably the worst type of gossip is of course the lie. People often think of gossipers as harmless, but cruel lies can bring some pains to people.
If we know that gossip can be harmful, then why do so many of us do it That’s because another effect of gossip: the strong satisfaction it gives us. Sharing the latest rumor (谣言) can make a person feel important because he or she knows something that others don’t.
Gossip also can have a third effect: It focuses on unwritten, unspoken rules about what people should do or not do. So the gossip we talk about will never show up in any student handbook.
The effects of gossip depends on different situations. So the next time when you want to spread the gossip, please think about whether it can affect others and how others will feel about it.

Confucius (551—479 BC) was a great thinker and teacher in the Spring and Autumn Period of China. He was born in Qufu, the capital of the state of Lu (part of Shandong). He acted as an official (官员) there. But he was perhaps a better thinker than he was an official and he ended up having to leave the state of Lu. He spent 13 years travelling around the other states, spreading his ideas. And he tried to teach people that peace was very important for a healthy society. However, it was not until the rule of Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty (156—87 BC) that his ideas were finally put into practice. In his last few years, he returned to Qufu where he spent the rest of his life teaching. His teachings were recorded by his followers in a book called Lunyu.
Confucius’ teachings formed the base of Chinese thought. Confucius thought everyone should develop virtues (美德) and always do the right thing. Confucius’ thought is considered to have been the necessity of Eastern thought. Here’s one of Confucius’ famous sayings, “In the company of two others, I can always find one worthy of being my teacher”, which has been popular at home and abroad for thousands of years.
To help people understand how to behave towards others, he taught five virtues accepted by all Chinese. They are ren (kindness, charity), yi (fairness), li (ceremony, tradition), zhi (knowledge), and xin (trust). Another virtue is xiao. Xiao is the duties a person has to their parents.

During this year’s Two Sessions (两会), the term “weight management” caught a lot of attention. That’s because the government has carried out a three-year action program called “Weight Management Year”. This program aims to help people understand the importance of controlling the weight to promote (促进) a healthy lifestyle.
Many children and adults have been fighting against obesity (肥胖). According to the report from the National Health Commission, over half of the adults and about 20% of school-aged children in China are overweight. There is no doubt that both schools and parents play an important role in the weight management. For example, schools can organize different kinds of sports activities during the breaks at school, while parents can encourage the children to do exercise and eat healthily after school. Of course, students are supposed to be responsible for their own weight and health as well. By working together, we can create a healthier young generation.
The government believes that by promoting a healthy lifestyle, we can reduce chronic diseases (慢性病) like high blood pressure, diabetes (糖尿病), and heart problems. When you need to remember something, do you write it down on paper Probably not —you are more likely to just type (打) some words with your phone, right
For years, new technology from computers to tablets (平板电脑) has been taking the place of writing by hand. In 2016, schools in Finland even stopped teaching writing. But is our move away from writing by hand influencing our brains A new study says it might be.
Researchers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology asked 36 university students to write down information using either a pen or a keyboard. They also looked at the students’ electrical brain activity, and found that their brain connectivity patterns (连接模式) were much more complex (复杂的) when the students wrote by hand than when they used a keyboard. Past research has found that this connectivity is the key to helping the brain have memories and record new information.
One of the researchers, Audrey van der Meer, said that writing letters by hand also helps children learn the difference between very similar letters like “b” and “d”, because their bodies get to feel what it’s like to make the shapes.
According to the researchers, it’s important for students to keep learning how to write by hand. It’s also important to know what kind of writing is best for what situation.

Book Report: “A Special Flower in the Wind”This story touched my heart deeply. It tells about a sad day that turned into a life lesson. One windy afternoon, 9 , feeling hopeless about life. Suddenly, a blind boy ran to him with a dying flower. The boy couldn’t see, but he gave the flower to the writer, saying it was beautiful and smelled nice. At first, 10 , but when he realized the boy was blind, he felt shocked and sad. The blind boy taught the writer an important lesson: 11 , not the eyes. Though the flower looked dry, it still 12 . This made the writer understand that he had been “blind” to the beauty around him. In the end, he promised himself to value every moment of his life. Why I love this story: 1. It shows kindness can come from unexpected people. 2. It reminds us to find beauty in simple things. 3. The blind boy’s happiness changed someone’s life. This story is short but powerful. It teaches us to “see” the world with love and hope. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Reading Report
Hi, everyone! Today I read a passage named Be Away From Gossip At School. Now, let me tell you about it.
Gossip often happens. However, it is almost 13 .
It often has three effects. First, it can hurt someone we talk about. Especially, the worst type--cruel lies, can cause 14 . Second, gossip can make a person 15 from the listeners. That’s why people like gossiping. Third, gossip often focuses on the things about informal (非正式的) rules at school.
Finally, the writer advises us if we want to gossip, 16 .
That’s all. Thank you!

It is clear that Confucius ’ thought will continue to be a necessary part of Chinese culture. And it will continue to do something good to the development of China and even the whole world.

Obesity not only affects appearance but also causes serious health problems. What’s worse, obesity can even bring people psychological problems (心理问题), such as depression (抑郁) and anxiety. So, weight management has become an important part of many people’s lives.
The program includes activities like sports events, healthy eating workshops, and fun challenges. As we all know, the obesity has become a serious problem among teenagers.
The “Weight Management Year” does not mean forcing everyone to lose weight. Instead, it focuses on the scientific management of weight to further improve the overall health of nation. Let’s join together and make ourselves healthier and our nation stronger.

“Students learn more and remember better when taking handwritten notes, while using a computer with a keyboard may be more practical when they write a long paper or passage,” Audrey van der Meer said.
