Our school’s environmental protection club, in collaboration with the local environmental organization, is launching a month-long “Green Campus, Sustainable Living” project.
The project will kick off at 10 a.m. this Friday in the school auditorium. During the month, we’ll promote campus waste-sorting, initiate a campus plant adoption program, and hold sharing sessions on eco-friendly living tips.
We encourage you all to participate. You can sign up through the school’s online platform. Participants will receive an environmental practice certificate, and those with outstanding performance will have the opportunity to attend off-campus environmental exchange activities. Looking at the rain-soaked booth and the damaged items, a wave of helplessness washed over us. But Mrs. Green, with her unwavering spirit, immediately rallied us. “This is just a temporary setback. We have come too far to let a little rain stop us. Let’s think of a way to turn this around.” Inspired by her, we quickly dried the salvageable items and moved the booth indoors to a less-crowded corridor. We then spread the word among the students who were taking shelter inside, inviting them to visit our relocated booth.
Despite the initial setback, the rest of the day was a huge success. We managed to sell almost all of our items, and the donation box was overflowing with money. When we presented the money to the orphanage, the children’s faces lit up with joy. Through this experience, we learned a valuable lesson: challenges are inevitable in life, but with determination, teamwork, and a positive attitude, we can always find a way to overcome them and achieve our goals, especially when it comes to helping others.
