On April 22, 2019, we started our plan to go green every day for a year. This meant doing 365 different green things. For example, we reused water and cut down the use of our energy. Also, we had to think of something different to do and this was not easy.
With the idea of going green every single day for a year, Our Green Year started. My wife and I taught people how they could go green in their lives. We hoped we could show people all the green things that we could do to make the environment better. We wanted to push the idea that every little bit helps it a lot.
During Our Green Year, we completely changed our lifestyles. We now shop at organic (有机的) stores. We eat less meat, choosing green food. We greatly cut down our buying. We give away half of what we have on the Internet. We clean our home with vinegar (醋) and lemon juice instead of chemical cleaners. We make our own butter, enjoying the smell of home-made bread. In our home office, anyone doing something ungreen may be punished (惩罚).
