The move quickly became hot topic across the country. Many parents said that they were worried about food safety. Some of them even sent homemade meals to school at lunchtime every day.
The Ministry of Education (教育部) warns (警告) against introducing pre-made meals to schools. That’s mainly because there are not yet any national standards for such food. The market for pre-made meals has been developing quickly over the past few years. In 2022, there were more than 60,000 related (相关的) companies in China. And the number is still growing. By 2026, the market will have reached more than 1,000,000,000,000 yuan. What has made pre-made meals so popular They have many advantages. They’re quick and easy to prepare. They also have a long shelf life. However, parents’ worries are not without reason. Pre-made food may be acceptable sometimes, but few people eat it every day. Naturally, parents don’t want their children to do so, either.
In fact, pre-made meals are all prepared by central kitchens. They aren’t so healthy as the freshly cooked food. The problem is how to make sure these companies follow all the food safety rules when they cook and store food. For now, the pre-made food industry still has a long way to go.

Robofood, led by Dario Floreano from a Swiss Institute, has created a new drone (无人机) with scientists from Wageningen University, the Netherlands. Half of the parts inside can be eaten! The program aims to (旨在) make robots that can be eaten and foods that act like robots by mixing food science and robots in a new way.
The drone’s wings are made from rice cakes glued together with oil and chocolate. It can find missing people or animals in emergencies (紧急情况) and send food or medicine. Parts of the drone can be eaten because they meet food safety standards for emergencies set by the United Nations.
However, the main challenge is finding stronger edible (可食用的) materials for the drone’s wings to prepare for bad weather and high temperatures—of course, the chocolate may melt (融化) easily.
Robofood also developed an edible sensor (感应器) to help monitor stomach sickness, and it’s eaten by the patient to check the conditions inside. It’s different from other sensors because it’s easy for your body to digest (消化), so it won’t leave any remains inside the body.
The invention of Robofood also helps with environmental protection. There are batteries that you can fully eat. They are made from natural things like vitamin B2 and elements found in fruits. This helps the environment because you won’t have to throw them away like other batteries.

The glaciers’ change makes a big difference in the development of the area.

Food safety is very important. Our fridge helps keep food fresh, but not all foods stay fresh in the same way. 49
Fridge shelves can have different temperatures. The higher the shelf, the warmer it is. Use this to your advantage: Put ready-to-eat foods like burgers, pizza, and cream cakes on the top shelves. 50 Bottom shelves are the coldest, so they’re best for meat and seafood.
51 Bacteria grow quickly in temperatures between 5℃ and 60℃, called the “Temperature Danger Zone.” For the best food safety, keep your fridge at 0℃ to 5℃, and your freezer at -18℃ or below.
Fruits and vegetables don’t always need the fridge. They can stay at room temperature if it’s cool, dry, and not sunny. 52
Let’s all be careful with food safety. 53 Use older items first to keep them fresh. Check food packages for storage instructions. Don’t fill the fridge too much—this keeps everything cool and fresh.
A.Check the fridge often and put food in order.
B.But once you cut them, put them in the fridge.
C.Here’s how to store food properly in your fridge.
D.Middle shelves are good for dairy like cheese, butter, and yogurt.
E.Remember, fridges don’t kill bacteria, but they do slow their growth.
Costa Rica (哥斯达黎加) is not a traditional northern country. Here you do not have the turn of four different seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. It only has two seasons: dry season and wet season. So for tourists, when is the best time to go to Costa Rica
Most people like visiting Costa Rica in the dry season. The sun shines brightly almost every day from December to April and people won’t get wet. This makes them visit more places during the trip.
The best thing to do in Costa Rica in the dry season is to enjoy the beaches. The sunny weather allows people to enjoy the fun beach activities like swimming and surfing (冲浪). If you want quieter beaches perfect for swimming, you can visit the Gulf of Papagayo (帕帕加约海湾) and Peninsula Papagayo (帕帕加约半岛). If you want beaches perfect for surfing, go to beaches like Tamarindo (塔马林多), Playa Grande (格兰德海滩).
The wet season is also great for vacation. The hotel price is not high and there are much fewer visitors around. In the wet season, Costa Rica shows its green scenery (风景). The rain from May to November helps the rainforest grow. Waterfalls get stronger as more water flows in the rivers. And, yes, you can go out and see all of this.
The wet season doesn’t mean that you can’t leave your hotel. The rain usually comes in the afternoons and the mornings are often sunny and dry. So you are still able to enjoy the beautiful scenery in the rainy months of Costa Rica.

I’ve lived in a lorry (卡车) with my younger sister Sinita and my parents for over 200 days now! We’re travelling around Africa. The lorry’s a bit like a house on wheels (轮子), but it has less space. However, we have everything we need for our journey. It’s not very fast. That is OK — we’re not in a hurry.
Our schoolbooks are the same as the ones back home, but my mum gives us lessons, and then sends our work to teachers on the Internet. My favourite way of learning, however, is by going on special trips that my parents plan. We’ve seen so many wonderful places, people and animals.
In September, we went camping in the Kalahari Desert We learned lots about the night sky. The Kalahari’s not like other deserts because it gets such a lot of rain — some parts of it look really green. We had a guide, and he told us about all the lovely animals that live there.
In November, we went on a whale-watching (鲸) tour in South Africa and saw six whales. We said hello to them. One even swam under our boat. That was really thrilling. I knew whales were big, but I couldn’t believe they were so large.
In December, we drove to Boulders Beach in South Africa. There are thousands of African penguins (企鹅) on the beach. These cute black and white birds can swim, but cannot fly. Many of the visitors to the beach enjoyed seeing their funny walk, but I was especially interested in how clever they were at keeping their babies safe.

Usually, huabobo is bigger than bun (馒头). It’s normally sweet in taste. It has become a necessary part on some important occasions, such as birthdays, traditional festivals and so on. After making dough (生面团), people shape the dough into ducks, dragons, fish, etc. Then it’s time to steam (蒸) them. Following that, they color them.
Huabobo is a symbol of peace, long life, and best wishes. For example, rabbit huabobo is given to girls to wish them as lovely and clever as a white rabbit, while Huabobo in the shape of strong animals is usually given to a boy with a wish that he will be as strong as a tiger or others. And yuanyang huabobo shows the wish that a newly-married (新婚的) couple will live happily together to an old age and the peaches for long life.
Huabobo tastes good, but most huabobo shops only sell it in their hometown. Zang Chaiyuan, a 25-year-old girl from Yantai noticed that. She wanted to make more people know huabobo. She has created new shapes very lively. She also uses natural fruit and vegetable juice to color huabobo, along with milk, eggs, and a little sugar. What’s more, she has found a way to keep huabobo for over two months, making it easier to send it to other cities.

根据第二段“After making dough (生面团), people shape the dough into ducks, dragons, peaches, etc. Then it’s time to steam (蒸) them. Following that, they color them. ”可知,花饽饽的制作过程是先做面团,接着把它们揉成各个形状,然后再蒸,最后给它们上色。故人们做花饽饽的工序为:④③①②。故选D。
87.细节理解题。根据第三段中“while Huabobo in the shape of strong animals is usually given to a boy with a wish that he will be as strong as a tiger or others. ”可知,做成强壮的动物形状的花饽饽通常来表达男孩像老虎一样强壮。故选项C的图案符合。故选C。
88.词义猜测题。根据“Huabobo tastes good, but most huabobo shops only sell it in their hometown. Zang Chaiyuan, a 25-year-old girl from Yantai noticed that. ”可知,花饽饽仅在它们的家乡售卖,臧柴源注意到了这一点,故“that”意为“花饽饽在其他城市没那么受欢迎。”。故选C。
89.细节理解题。根据最后一段“With her hard work, Zang has managed to bring new life into the traditional huabobo so that more people can taste and understand this traditional food..”
故选A。
