(一)过去进行时(Past continuous tense)
构成:was/were + 现在分词(动词 ing 形式)

过去某一时刻正在进行的动作:

与 when/while 连用:when 后接短暂性动词,while 后接持续性动词。

(二)动词不定式(To-infinitive)
构成:to + 动词原形
用法

作宾语补足语:The teacher asked us to work together.(老师要求我们合作。)

(三)并列连词 and/but/or
and:表示并列或顺承关系,连接两个相似的部分。

but:表示转折关系,连接两个相反的部分。

构成:形容词 + ly

Last month, our class took part in a blackboard newspaper making competition. It was an unforgettable teamwork experience for all of us.
At first, we divided into three groups. The design group was responsible for planning the layout of the blackboard newspaper. The drawing group would draw pictures with colored chalks. And the writing group was in charge of writing the stories. I was in the design group.
During the process, we met some difficulties. For example, some members of the design group wanted to use a certain style, while others had different ideas. We felt worried at that time. But then we decided to sit together and discuss. Each of us shared our ideas and listened to others' opinions. Finally, we found a good way to combine different ideas and made a great design.
