一、重点词汇
1. almost(adv.差不多;几乎)
意义解释:表示非常接近某一程度、数量或情况,差不多达到但未完全达到。
例句用法:
I almost missed the bus.(我差点没赶上公交车)
Almost everyone likes music.(几乎每个人都喜欢音乐)
易错点分析:容易和"nearly"混淆。"almost"可与"never""nobody""nothing"等否定词连用,而"nearly"一般不这样用。比如可以说"almost nobody",但不说"nearly nobody"。同时,"almost"在句中的位置通常放在实义动词之前,be动词、助动词或情态动词之后。
2. progress(n.进步;进展)
意义解释:指在学业、工作、发展等方面取得的积极的、向前的发展变化。
例句用法:He has made great progress in English.(他在英语方面取得了很大进步);The work is in progress.(工作正在进行中)
易错点分析:作"进步"讲时,是不可数名词,不能用不定冠词"a"修饰,不能说"a progress"。另外,注意"make progress"是常用搭配,不要遗漏"make"。
3. give up(放弃)
意义解释:表示停止尝试做某事,不再坚持。
例句用法:
Don't give up your dream.(不要放弃你的梦想)
He gave up smoking last year.(他去年戒烟了)
易错点分析:"give up"是"动词+副词"结构,当宾语是代词时,必须放在"give"和"up"中间,如"give it up";当宾语是名词时,既可以放在中间,也可以放在后面,如"give the plan up"或"give up the plan"。

一般过去时(Simple past tense)
1. 用法:表示过去某时动作 / 状态、过去经常反复动作,常与ago、last year等过去时间状语连用。
2. 句式(以be、want为例)
(1)陈述句
be 动词:肯定(I/He/She was...; We/You/They were...);否定(I/He/She was not/wasn't...; We/You/They were not/weren't...)
I was happy yesterday.(我昨天很开心)
I was not/wasn't angry with you.(我没生你的气)
want:肯定(I/You/He/She/We/You/They wanted...);否定(I/You/He/She/We/You/They didn't want...)
I wanted to buy a new book last week.(我上周想买一本新书)
He didn't want to do his homework at that time.(他那时不想做作业)
(2)疑问句及简略回答
be 动词:Were you... ?Was he/she... Were they... 肯定回答(Yes, I was./Yes, we were. 等);否定回答(No, I was not/wasn't./No, we were not/weren't. 等)
want:Did you... Did he/she... Did they... 肯定回答(Yes, I did./Yes, we did. 等);否定回答(No, I did not/didn't./No, we did not/didn't. 等)
——Were you at the party last night (你 / 你们昨晚在派对上吗?)
——Yes, I was. / Yes, we were.(是的,我在。/ 是的,我们在。)
——No, I was not/wasn't. / No, we were not/weren't.(不,我不在。/ 不,我们不在。)

3. 动词过去式的构成
(1)规则动词
一般情况加 -ed ,如 ask - asked
不发音 e 结尾加 -d ,如 arrive - arrived
重读闭音节且词尾单辅音字母,双写加 -ed ,如 clap - clapped
辅音字母加 y 结尾,变 y 为 i 加 -ed ,如 cry - cried
(2)不规则动词
"-ed" 读音:清辅音后读 /t/ ,浊辅音、元音后读 /d/ ,在 /t/、/d/ 后读 / d/
