Every year on May 20, it’s World Bee Day. It is a day to thank bees for all they do. Without bees, we wouldn’t have any food! When bees fly from plant to plant, they carry pollen (花粉). The pollen makes new plants grow. Bees not only help flowers grow. They also help fruit and vegetables grow.
It’s also a day to learn about the problems bees are facing. Losing natural living areas, getting sick from chemicals (化学物质) used on crops and higher temperatures are making the numbers of bees drop.
Now people have taken action like looking for technology to help save bees. One example is the robot bee project called Robo Royale. The project uses robot bees to help feed and look after the queen bee. This will make the queen lay (产卵、下蛋) more eggs and make more bees.

The giant panda is one of the most popular animals in the world. A giant panda can grow up to 1.5 meters long and weigh up to 160 kg. People think the giant panda is very lovely. So it is not surprising that the World Wide Fund for Nature chose the giant panda as its symbol. The WWF tells people about animals that are in danger and raises money to save them.
The giant panda only lives in the wild in China. In the early 1980s, there were only 1,000 left in the wild. The main reason why pandas are endangered is that the area where panda can live has become smaller.
The WWF works to help giant pandas in the wild in many ways. One of the ways is to increase the size of panda reserves Some reserves need to be joined together by planting bamboo between them to make “corridors”(走廊). These are paths that lead from one reserve to another. No one may harm the pandas in these areas. The corridors let pandas move from one habitat (栖息地) to another to look for food. ①People are working very hard to make sure the giant panda does not die out.

Bird biologists are studying how and where birds get hurt along the way and trying to help them. But that’s not all bird biologists do!
Beth Flint is a bird biologist in a wildlife refuge(保护区) near Hawaii. She tracks all the different kinds of seabirds in the refuge. She reads research studies about all the animals in the wildlife refuge, and makes plans to help protect them, especially the birds. She gives lessons about the wildlife to volunteers in the refuge, too.
To become a bird biologist, Dr. Flint studied many different fields. She learned about biology, zoology (the study of animals), botany (the study of plants) and ecology. “Fall” and “Autumn”
What season is it in October If you ask people from UK, they will tell you it’s “autumn”. But if you go to US, you will find that people use “autumn” or “fall”.
According to Dictionary.com, both words have been around for a long time, but neither of them was first to describe this season. During this season, crops would become ripe (成熟) and farmers would have a big harvest. So in Old English, this season was simply called “harvest”.
Then, in the 1600s, more people left their farms and moved to cities. With fewer people farming, the word “harvest” became less useful. English speakers needed a different name for the season. They knew leaves fell from trees during the season, so people started calling it “the fall of the leaf”, or “fall” for short.
But at the end of the 1600s, autumn, from the French word “autompne” and the Latin “autumnus”, came to English. “Fall” as the word for this season disappeared slowly.

96.根据“Without much change in the past few days, I finally see some new progress on Buddy today as it has grown taller, It’s exciting to see new life like this.”并结合表格中第一天“In the center of the bowl, I can see a tiny sprout that has grown from the potato under the soil.” 故选A。
97.根据“Buddy continues to grow taller. The leaves on the new sprouts have grown a lot.”以及第十七天“Finally, the leaves on the other sprouts are 3. 5 cm tall. They are so green.”
98.据第六天“Without much change in the past few days, I finally see some new progress on Buddy today as it has grown taller, It’s exciting to see new life like this. I hope Buddy can grow faster.”可知,第六天提到了Buddy没什么变化,并希望它能长得快,结合“Three new sprouts have grown around Buddy!”
