(24-25 八年级下·江苏无锡·期中)Troubled by visitors who only come in to check out the design and
decoration, the owners of Queviures Murria, a grocery store in Barcelona, Spain, have put up a sign announcing a
5-euro fee for coming in just to look.
Queviures Murria has been in business since 1898 and is one of the most eye-catching places of interest in
all of Barcelona. The old look of the store and the traditional design of the inside attract (吸引) hundreds of
visitors every day, but the problem is that many of them aren’t actually interested in the things sold inside-all
kinds of traditional Spanish cured sausages, cold cuts, cured cheeses, oils, wines and so on. According to the store,
many visitors enter the store without even saying a simple “hello”, look around taking pictures, and then simply
leave without buying anything. So it decided to charge (收费) people for “just looking” just to stop them.
Toni Merino, one of the managers at Queviures Murria, said that the idea to charge visitors a fee for simply
coming into the grocery store and looking around without buying anything started out as a joke, but as day by day
the workers and the real shoppers became inconvenienced (不方便) by too many visitors looking around, taking
pictures, with surely no interest in the things sold there, they decided it.
Merino said he has no interest in actually charging the fee, and they don’t really have to any more. By
posting a photo about the 5-euro fee in the shop window, they have stopped most unwanted visitors.

minutes and customers are offered umbrellas, rubber boots, and raincoats.
If you find nothing more relaxing than a cup of hot coffee on a rainy day, you’ll probably love the concept
(概念) of Rain Report Cafe, a South Korean cafe where it rains heavily every 15 minutes. Rain is definitely an
unusual concept to design a cafe around but judging by the very positive review score this place currently has,
Rain Report is definitely a very special place. Located in the middle of a residential area (住宅区) in Itaewon,
Rain Report is almost completely decked in black and lined with bamboo trees, which really makes you feel like
you’re outside the busy South Korean capital when the downpour (倾盆大雨 ) starts. And that happens very
frequently.
The cafe has windows offering a clear view of its inner courtyard, which is where the magic happens.
Every quarter hour, regardless of the daily weather forecast, it pours at Rain Report Cafe. And we are not talking

(24-25 八年级下·河北石家庄·期中)Do you like to travel alone Or do you think it’s better to travel with
friends If you’re still deciding, please read on. I will explain the advantages of both ways.
One of the great things about traveling alone is that you make the rules about where you go and what you
eat. You’ll be surprised at what you discover about yourself without any influence.
Traveling alone really shows you what you’re made of and helps you to discover inner strength (内心的力
量) you didn’t know you had. Besides, it also gives you time to think, learn and grow. When your eyes are wide
open, you’ll get a whole new outlook on the world
It’s easy to think that traveling alone is lonely. Although that may sometimes be true, you’re hardly ever
alone. When you travel in a one-person team, this can provide a chance for you to enjoy the most interesting part
of travel--communicating with the locals and meeting travelers from all comers of the world.
In fact, traveling to know more about the world is not easy. There’s research to be done. flights to be
booked and choices to be made, not to mention that things can--and often do--go wrong. One of the main
advantages of traveling with friends is being able to share these things and support each other through the process,
even if it’s just someone who will wait with your bag when you go to the bathroom.
Just as your mother always says, it s true that traveling with others can give you a sense of safety,
especially if you’re new to travel. You know that if you get lost or have your wallet stolen, there’s someone to
hold your hand when you try to explain your situation in a foreign police station.
There’s no right or wrong way to travel. Whether you travel alone or team up with friends, it depends on
you.
1.How does the writer introduce the topic of the passage in Paragraph 1
A.By telling a story. B.By giving examples.
C.By asking questions. D.By describing a scene.
2.Traveling with friends has the following advantages EXCEPT________.
A.sharing a lot of things B.discovering inner strength
C.getting support easily D.having a sense of safety
3.What’s the structure of the passage
(①= Paragraph 1 ②= Paragraph 2……)
A. B. C. D.

decoration, the owners of Queviures Murria, a grocery store in Barcelona, Spain, have put up a sign announcing a
5-euro fee for coming in just to look.
Queviures Murria has been in business since 1898 and is one of the most eye-catching places of interest in
all of Barcelona. The old look of the store and the traditional design of the inside attract (吸引) hundreds of

many visitors enter the store without even saying a simple “hello”, look around taking pictures, and then simply

A. B. C. D.
