The government invested in eco-tourism. ______, local communities began to
protect wetlands.”
The project aimed to ______ the ancient town’s architecture.”
选项:A. preserve B. protect C. promote
答案:A(“preserve”强调“保存原貌”,与“ancient town”更匹配)。
Which step involves planting reeds ”
段落首句:“However, the lack of public awareness remains a challenge.”
标记逻辑词:如“Firstly, However, As a result”等,划分段落结构。
上下文线索:“______ the new policy, carbon emissions decreased by 20%.”
绝对化选项:如“All efforts failed”可能被原文“Most efforts succeeded”否定。
step focuses on attracting wildlife ”
Which year saw the most significant
improvement ”
词汇混淆:近义词(protect/preserve)或形近词(affect/effect)误选。
中式英语:直译中文逻辑(如“With the development of society...”
因果:due to, as a result, therefore
转折:however, whereas
Yangtze River Economic Belt(长江经济带)、Optics Valley(光谷)、Qingjiang River(清江)。

Napping (小睡) can be really helpful if done correctly. 1
If you can’t get enough sleep at night because of busy work, taking a nap can help.
However, if you aren’t napping properly, you might experience nighttime sleep problems or feel
terrible after waking up from a nap. Here are some suggestions on how to take a perfect nap.
First, decide the length of your nap. To make sure you don’t feel uncomfortable after a
nap, stick to either a short 20-minute nap or a longer nap of at least 1 hour and 30 minutes. 2
If you wake up in the middle of the rule during the deep sleep, you may feel worse than before the
nap.
Second, take naps in the early afternoon. Napping late in the afternoon can influence
your nighttime sleep. 3 If your normal bedtime is around 11:00 pm, then you shouldn’t
be napping any later than 2:00 pm.
Third, avoid unintentional (无意识的) naps. 4 Besides, the blue light from
smartphones, televisions and computers can reduce melatonin (褪黑素) that helps you sleep.
Last, give yourself time after a nap. 5 Give yourself some time to fully wake
up before starting activities, especially those that require a quick action, such as driving.
A.This can make it harder to fall asleep at night.
B.After napping, you might still feel a little sleepy.
C.The body has a sleep rule of one and a half hours.
D.It can help improve your memory and reduce tiredness.
E.Students might be better studying hard before bedtime, or taking a nap after a period of
afternoon study.
F.Napping in front of screens may reduce your need for sleep later.

As we all know, an interesting person is very popular. However, being an interesting person
is no coincidence (巧合). 1
Stop Being Lazy
Laziness is boring. Nobody will find you creative, talented, or interesting if you don’t put
any effort into something. Instead of living a passive (消极的) life and letting your time pass by,
take up new hobbies and explore your interests. Once you try new things, you can ask people for
advice and support. 2
Stop Fitting into One Group
We all enjoy belonging to a social circle. Yet, picking one single group might make you less
excited. By trying to fit into a specific group, you’ll need to give up on your own character.
3 That’s why it’s so powerful to have conversations with people of various ages and from
diverse backgrounds.
Be the Best Listener in the Room
Everyone likes talking, but only few people enjoy listening. 4 Talking much
won’t make you attractive. Paying attention will help you to stand out and build deep
relationships. To be an interesting person, you need to be patient, listen carefully, and pose open—
ended questions to show your conversation partner that you care about them.
Last but Not Least: Take It Easy
Sometimes, less is more. 5 Take it easy. Be yourself. Don’t be afraid to show
your insecurities (不安全感). Instead of acting as if you’d know everything, ask more questions,
no matter how simple they might seem.

When I first arrived in China, some of the first Chinese vocabulary I learned had to do with
food. 1 , but still didn’t understand most of the things which I saw on Chinese restaurant
menus. Fortunately, there were pictures to help me recognize them.
2 . But a lot of restaurants I’ve been to in the US don’t. What is the reason for the
difference
One thing I’ve noticed about China is that food is a bigger part of their culture than it is in
the US. 3 . My Chinese friends post pictures of their meals online way more often than
my US friends.
Food is just a bigger deal here—and having pictures of food in menus is part of that.
4 , with vivid (生动的) and well-framed (构图精美) photos.
Another factor is the names of the dishes. Chinese dishes sometimes have fanciful (想象的)
names like “palace guard chicken” or “three fresh things from the soil”. These are interesting
names, but they don’t really tell you what the dishes are like. 5 .
There’s probably even more to it than that. All I know is that I was very grateful to have
those picture menus when I first came here all those years ago.
A.I learned the names of a few dishes
B.Some menus are almost like works of art
C.Chinese food is really delicious and hot pot is my favorite

B
Instead of acting as if you’d know everything, ask more questions,
no matter how simple they might seem.

should set goals based on our own health condition. On average (平均而言), Chinese people walk
about 6,000 steps a day, and it is fine to go up to 7,000 or 10,000 a day. On rainy or snowy days,
you can walk in a mall. As you become a seasoned walker, you can speed up or walk up hills.

D.Nearly every restaurant menu in China has pictures of food in it
