【教材分析】
本课是PEP版小学英语六年级下册Unit4 Then and now第二课时的Let’s talk内容。在学习理解中,通过跟随吴斌斌参观爷爷的学校和现在吴斌斌的学校进行“学校今昔对比”这一情景,在根据图片描述There be句型及其过去时态。在应用实践中,通过穿越到1978年的小学,学生小组合作通过对比照片,表达学校发生的巨大变化,畅享母校的美好未来,激发学生对母校的热爱。最后在迁移创新活动中,学生运用There be的基础上,糅合了People couldn’t和People didn’t 过去时态的其它几种句式,学生观察、分析、讨论、交流以小组汇报的形式展示,让学生进一步领悟本课学习的意义。
【学情分析】
六年级学生已有了一定的语言和学习能力的积累,初步具备了运用所学语言进行简单交流的能力。学生已经学习过一些与外貌、性格、爱好、活动等相关单词:thin,helpful,shy,kind,friendly,cook,go hiking等,学习了句型There is...There are...I can...I can’t...等,为本单元话题的学习奠定了一定的语言基础。学生对于学校、外貌、性格、爱好、能力等的话题较为熟悉,但对于周围环境的改变以及自身变化的感受还不是很深。而对“change”这一话题的探讨,可以引导学生去关注自身和周围事物、环境的变化,了解社会变迁,引发对于自身和社会发展的思考,激励学生寻求好的改变,努力发展自我,将来为构建更美好的世界贡献一份自己的力量,倡导一种积极向上的生活态度。
【教学目标】
通过本课时学习,学生能够:
通过听、看等途径,学生能提取文本核心信息;
2.在看,听,说的活动中,获取,梳理对话中吴斌斌爷爷和现在学校的对比;(学习理解)
3.在教师的帮助下,能够分角色、有感情的表演对话;(应用实践)
4.在通过练习对话等形式,学生内化运用知识,会正确使用句型描述自己学校和5年前学校的对比;(应用实践)
5.两人小组,根据图片描述学校的变化,形成写作知识框架;(迁移创新)
【教学重点】
1.完成Let’s try部分听力任务,使学生对新句型在听觉上有所感知。
2.能够在语境中理解新单词star, moon, look up, Internet的意思,并能正确发音。
3.能够熟练使用There was/ were 描述事物的今昔对比,在熟练听说的基础上进行书写活动。
【教学难点】
1.能够在情景中恰当运用句型There was/ were...描述某个地方过去与现在的状态和变化。
2.There be 结构中单复数的正确使用。

After listening, let’s go on to see what else you can find in this dialogue. Grandpa is visiting Wu Binbin’s school. What was Grandpa’s school like Was there a playground/library in Grandpa’s old school Can you predict what they are talking about
Then let’s watch a piece of video and prove your presumption.
c.Let students understand: star, moon, look up, Internet...
d.Let students to get the main idea of the dialogue. Then answer the questions.
(1)Were there any libraries in Grandpa’s old school
(2)Was his school on the hill
(3)Were there any computers in the school
e.Check the predictions of Grandpa’s school. And then learn the dialogue sentence by sentence.
f.Watch a short video. Learn something about American’s first landing on the moon.
g.Listen to the tape again and read the dialogue together.
Step III Practice
1.Make sentences.
2.Make new sentences using There is/ are... and There was/ are... based on some pictures.
3.Read and act.
Students read after the recording. Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation. Then practice the dialogue in roles.
Step IV Consolidation
Talk about the differences in our school.
How was our school in the past How is our school now Work in groups and discuss. You can use these sentence patterns:
There were no…many years ago. But there are…now.
Anyway We love our school deeply.
