Last month, a half marathon was held in Beijing. China. About 12,000 runners took part. On a separate
track (跑道). beside the human runners, 21 humanoid (human-like) robots took on the same challenge and six of
them finished the race.
Saturday’s race was held in E-Town, a technology center in Beijing. There have been robot races before,
but not this long. A half marathon is 13.1 miles (21 kilometers) long. The distance was meant to challenge the
robots, and allow their developers to see how the robots managed under real-life conditions.
The robots that raced were in different shapes and sizes. The largest, called “Tiangong Ultra” was 5 feet, 8
inches (180 centimeters) tall. The smallest, called “Little Giant” was just under two and a half feet (75 centimeters)

tall. To join the race, the robots had to run on two feet, like humans.
Each robot started at a slightly different time—a good idea, since some of the robots fell down right at the
start. To give each robot the best chance, each traveled with support workers. Support workers carried devices to
control their robots. Some workers followed their robots; others led them. Workers helping faster robots had to jog
the whole time. Those with slower robots just walked.
The early part of the race was the easiest because the course was flat. Later, things became more difficult.
The course had 14 turns, and there were small hills to run up or down. In some places, railroad tracks crossed the
road, and the robots had to manage the uneven (不平滑的) surface.
As with human runners, low energy was a problem for the robots, too. Tiangong fell once because of a low
battery. The same thing happened to other robots, too. However, the biggest challenge was overheating. It was
cool in the morning, but as the day heated up. workers made great efforts to keep the robots cool. At one point,
Little Giant had smoke coming out of its head.
The first robot to cross the finish line was Tiangong. It finished the race in 2 hours, 40 minutes, and 42
seconds. That was far behind most human runners. But the goal of the race wasn’t to win, it was to finish. And six
of the robots managed to meet that goal.
The race turned out to be a success, even for the robots who didn’t finish. Their efforts produced a lot of
information that will help their developers improve future humanoid robots.

AI is getting better and better at creating illustrations, music, movies, stories, and more. Tools that have
risen sharply in popularity since late 2022 are changing the way people create content. AI can help jumpstart a
person’s creativity by offering countless ideas, almost with a click of the mouse.
Some writers, musicians, and other artists are experimenting with AI as a tool and seeing advantages. They
may use it as a source of feedback (反馈) on their work. Visual artist Matt Saunders told the Harvard Gazette
newspaper, “We should be thankful to be challenged and knocked out of our habits and comfort zones!”
Kevin Baragona is the founder and chief executive officer of DeepAI in San Francisco, California. It’s one
of several AI platforms that people can use to generate (生成) artworks or writing in many different styles. He
says it is like a personal streaming platform that creates movies just for the user. “And the same thing with music,”
he adds. “We’ll generate music just for you. It’s going to be pretty cool.”
Not everyone is happy about AI’s introduction into artistic fields, though. Some artists and writers object to
their work being used to train AI models without their permission. Some have argued that AI-generated content
isn’t real art. When a human artist creates, they express their personal thoughts, experiences, and emotions. AI

then turns it into something else.” Cuban-American musician and composer Yosvany Terry says, “When you hear
those compositions by AI, they lack (缺乏) surprise, emotion, and even silence.” This has also led many people to
question whether AI art can truly be considered “original” (独 创 的 ). If an AI-generated piece is heavily

In the end, AI in art represents both an exciting area and a significant challenge for the art world. As people
get used to AI and form guidelines for its use, we might become more welcoming about its place in art. Just stay

三、阅读理解
A
(2025·江苏南京·二模)With the development of technology, many people are used to reading books with
their own digital devices (数 码 设 备 ). As we spend more time on touchscreens, digital devices are not just
changing our habits, but also affecting our skills, especially in kids. Chloe Han, a teacher at Young Academics
who works with young children, has noticed that kids’ physical abilities are getting worse because they spend
more time on screens.
While the digital world can be fun and educational, many experts are worried that too much screen time is
hurting kids’ fine motor skills.
Fine motor skills are the small movements we make with our hands and fingers. These skills help us do
important daily tasks, such as writing, buttoning shirts, tying shoes and using utensils (餐具). Normally, children
develop these skills by doing hands-on activities like playing with toys and creating arts and crafts (手工艺品).
But now, kids often play more on screens than with their hands, leading to weaker fine motor skills.
Using screens involves (涉及) a lot of tapping and swiping (滑动), which doesn’t help develop the precise
(精 确 的 ) finger movements and hand-eye coordination (协 调 ) that hands-on play provides. Less physical
playtime means that children have fewer chances to build these important skills naturally. As a result, everyday
tasks once considered routine, such as fastening buttons or tying shoelaces, are now a challenge for many young
learners.
Occupational therapists (职业治疗师) are seeing more children in need of help with their fine motor skills
for school and daily activities. Some even find it hard to grip a pencil or zip up their jackets.
But there’s good news. Parents and teachers can help by adding screen-free playtime to kids’ daily routines.
Fun activities like drawing, crafting, building with Lego, and doing puzzles build kids’ finger strength and
improve their hand-eye coordination. These activities also boost (提升) focus and balance, which help children
perform better during playground activities.
试卷第 12 页,共 35 页
Finding a balance between screen time and physical play helps kids develop strong fine motor skills while
still enjoying the benefits (益处) of technology.
1.What problem did too much screen time most probably cause in children

More than 50 years ago, farmers in China found an ancient underground burial site (埋葬地) built for the
nation’s first emperor. Made up of nearly 600 separate areas—one as big as three football fields—the
2,200-year-old tomb held more than 7,000 life-size clay (黏土) statues of soldiers. Today, they’re known as the
terra-cotta warriors.
Earlier researchers had wondered if the ancient sculptors mixed and matched a few different sets of clay
ears, noses, and mouths to save time. As they continued to study the soldiers, however, they noticed something
surprising: Every warrior seemed to have a different face. A few years ago, Chinese scientists decided to study
those faces with the help of 3D technology.
Waving a scanning machine around a warrior’s head, the Chinese researchers captured (捕捉) about 35
million digital points, making a map of the face. That scan was then turned into a 3D digital model.
Computer software measured (测量) eight facial features, like nose length and mouth width—things that
make humans unique (独一无二的). Then that data (数据) was compared with data from other 3D models.
Scientists have now studied at least 58 warriors and believe that the facial features are all unique. But why
In the journal Heritage Science, the Chinese scientists wrote that their research probably shows the
terra-cotta warriors were meant to be a “real” army to protect the emperor in the afterlife and therefore needed to
represent 7,000 unique people.
They still have questions, though. What if the shape of the faces changed in the 2,200 years since the clay
soldiers were buried How would that influence the facial features’ measurements

( 2025·江 苏 南 京 ·模 拟 预 测 ) Chinese government quickly took action against companies breaking
consumer rights after the 2025 3·15 Consumer Rights Gala showed illegal activities (违法行为) like food safety
problems and AI-driven harassment (骚扰) calls. This yearly event, organized by China Media Group for over 30
years, has become a strong warning to businesses that cheat people.
After the Gala, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) carried out surprise checks
overnight in nine provinces. They promised they will punish those who broke the rules seriously. For example, a
factory in Guangdong was fined 2 million for selling poor-quality baby products. At the same time, the Ministry
of Industry and Information Technology started looking into companies making illegal automated calls. Phone
companies were ordered to shut down 15,000 phone lines that were not allowed by law, and websites took down
over 200 tools for sending too many calls.
This year’s Gala showed serious problems in different industries:
—Some baby brands sold old products as new, putting babies in danger.
—Factories made single-use underwear without cleaning them properly.
—Shrimps were filled with harmful chemicals to make them 20% heavier, fooling buyers.
—A secret market sold tools for sending millions of unwanted calls.
—Stores sold unsafe electrical wires that could cause fires.
Food safety was a key focus. In Yancheng, Jiangsu province, 12 seafood companies were caught using
harmful chemicals in shrimps. To solve this, SAMR will start a new national food safety reporting system in May
2025. This system will let people report problems through a mobile app, making the process more open and
efficient.
China has worked harder to protect consumers in recent years. Last year, SAMR received 39.24 million
online problems reported by people and helped them get back 5.16 billion. These efforts include stricter laws,

(2025·江苏南京·一模)For a self-driving car to safely take passengers to their destinations, it needs to do
three main things really well: understand the environment, make decisions, and carry out those decisions.
First, the car needs to know what’s around it. To do this, it makes use of different sensors (传感器), such as
cameras, radar and lidar (激光雷达). They act like the car’s “eyes”, allowing it to see people, street signs and so
on. The sensors also help the car track its position and speed.
But just being aware of things close by is not enough. Like a human driver, a self-driving car must also plan
ahead to avoid traffic and accidents. This is where vehicle to vehicle (V2V) network comes in, allowing cars to
share information with each other. For example, if one sees a traffic jam somewhere, it can “tell” others to avoid
that area.
Similarly, through vehicle to pedestrian (V2P,车与人) communication, a self-driving car can “talk” with
people walking or biking to know if they are about to cross the street. Meanwhile, with vehicle to infrastructure
(V2I,车与基础设施) communication, the car can connect with traffic lights to know when they will turn green.
In addition, vehicle to network (V2N,车与网络) communication allows the car to go online and access the
internet for the latest road information.
Putting these four networks together, we get vehicle to everything (V2X), a technology that makes
self-driving safer and more efficient. V2X would not have been possible without fast internet connections enabled

by 4G and further improved by 5G, which connects self-driving cars to roads in different cities and countries.
After collecting information, the self-driving car need to make sense of it and decide how to react. Like
putting together the pieces of a puzzle, the car integrates the information from all sensors to “see the bigger
picture”. Such multi-sensor fusion (多传感器融合) is supported by machine learning, which helps the car to
recognize objects, create real-time maps, and make decisions about when to stop, go, or turn.
Once a decision is made, the car needs to carry it out correctly. To do this, the car uses drive-by-wire
technology (线控技术), where electronic signals are sent as orders to the wheels, brakes (刹车) and engine. This
makes the car react more quickly and run more smoothly. It also helps the car use less oil, which is good for the
environment.
1.What is the main function of the sensors on a self-driving car
A.To record the car’s performance.
B.To monitor the car’s driving condition.
C.To help the car maintain a safe speed.
D.To gather information about the car’s surroundings.
2.What is paragraph 3 mainly about

B.The reasons why self-driving cars access the Internet.
C.The communication networks used in self-driving cars.

On May 14, 2025, China sent 12 new computing satellites (计算卫星) into space. They used a Long March
rocket (火箭) from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. This was a big step! It started the world’s first space
computing network. It’s called the Three-body Computing Constellation (三体计算星座). The name comes from
a physics problem about how objects move in space. These satellites can do computing work directly in space
instead of just sending data (数据) back to Earth.
The satellites were made by Zhejiang Lab, Guoxing Aerospace, and other teams. Each one can do 744
trillion (万亿) calculations every second! Together, they form a strong network. When they move around the
Earth, they can analyze (分析) data quickly. For example, they can find forest fires in seconds. They can also
make 3D maps of flooded areas to help rescue teams. Before, old-style satellites took days to do such jobs.
Old satellites wasted a lot of time—70% to 90%—because of slow data sending. The new satellites solve
this problem. It works on data while in space, cutting delays from weeks to just seconds. It can help with
deep-space trips, like going to Mars. By working in space, it avoids long waits for messages to reach Earth.
The satellites use laser communication, which is super fast (100Gbps!). They also use AI trained on huge
data. These tools help track planes and watch for disasters. They can even study space events like gamma-ray
bursts. By 2035, China plans to grow the network to 2,800 satellites. This will connect space and ground centers

AI
models cannot express those things because they are not self-aware, say AI experts. Anousha Syed is a Canadian
AI trainer and illustrator. She told the Guardian, “AI doesn’t look at art and generate its own. It copies everyone’s,
then turns it into something else.” Cuban-American musician and composer Yosvany Terry says, “When you hear
those compositions by AI, they lack (缺乏) surprise, emotion, and even silence.” This has also led many people to
question whether AI art can truly be considered “original” (独 创 的 ).

试卷第 7 页,共 21 页

But for many people, it doesn’t matter if all 7,000 statues are unique—the warriors simply represent a
proud history.
“I was allowed to visit the terra-cotta warrior site and was face-to-face with a clay soldier,” says National
Geographic Explorer Albert Lin, whose family is from China. “I felt like I could have been looking at my brother
or an uncle or somebody.”

试卷第 10 页,共 21 页
These efforts include stricter laws,
public education programs, and working with technology companies to stop illegal activities.
“The 3·15 Gala doesn’t just show problems—it pushes companies and regulators to take action,” said Wang
Peng, a researcher at the Beijing Academy of Social Sciences. This event reminds everyone that protecting
consumer rights is a shared responsibility.

2.What is paragraph 3 mainly about
A.The ways self-driving cars avoid accidents.
B.The reasons why self-driving cars access the Internet.
C.The communication networks used in self-driving cars.
D.The wide application of self-driving technology.
3.How does the drive-by-wire technology assist self-driving cars
A.By reducing their emission of harmful gases.
B.By providing a broader view for the cars.
C.By controlling their braking systems.
D.By improving their ability to react and operate.
4.What is the best title for the article
A.The History of Self-Driving Cars
B.How 5G Technology Changed Transportation
C.Key Technologies behind Safe Self-Driving Cars
D.The Environmental Benefits of Drive-by-Wire Systems

On May 14, 2025, China sent 12 new computing satellites (计算卫星) into space. They used a Long March
rocket (火箭) from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. This was a big step! It started the world’s first space
computing network. It’s called the Three-body Computing Constellation (三体计算星座). The name comes from
试卷第 13 页,共 21 页
a physics problem about how objects move in space.
This will connect space and ground centers
all over the world.
Professor Wang Jian is a top engineer leading Zhejiang Lab. He said, “Space computing power will change
industries. It will help in things like disaster response and city planning.” He led the team that made the satellites’
AI systems. This project shows how new ideas can turn problems into chances. It makes a path for smarter space
exploration.
1.Why can the new satellites analyze data much faster than old-style ones
A.Because they work on data directly in space.
B.Because they use old tools.
C.Because they are sent by more powerful rockets.
D.Because they have a special shape.
2.The underlined word “delays” in Paragraph 3 probably means ________.
A.mistakes B.waiting time C.costs D.distances
3.Why does the passage mention Mars in Paragraph 3
A.To explain why Mars is easier to explore than Earth.
B.To prove old satellites worked for Mars.
C.To compare Mars and Earth’s disasters.
D.To show the new satellites can help with faraway space trips.
4.What is the main idea of the passage
A.How China launches rockets.
试卷第 14 页,共 21 页
B.China’s success in creating the first space computing network.
C.Comparing old and new satellite speeds.
D.A professor’s work at a science lab.

Few people knew about online food delivery apps ten years ago, but today, many would find it hard to live
without them. In China a 1 , over 400 million people use such apps. For better or for worse, online food
delivery services have changed the w 2 we eat, and they are also having a huge impact on our society.
These services have no doubt brought us many advantages. They provide jobs for millions of people and
help restaurants find more customers.
Since the apps are very convenient, they also benefit consumers: we can now have meals delivered at any
time of day. This is especially important for people who work long hours, a 3 they might not have time
to cook. Not only do these apps save time, but they also provide us with a wide variety of restaurants to choose
from. They have proved to be u 4 for retired people as well: seniors who live far away from restaurants
and supermarkets can now get hold of meals and groceries more easily.
However, we must not forget the drawbacks of online food delivery services. For one thing, they make it
even easier to get unhealthy food, h 5 in sugar, fat and salt. This can lead to weight gain and health
problems over time. Food s 6 is another problem: it can be hard to establish where the food actually
comes from, and if the owner is legally permitted to run a restaurant. As couriers (快递员) need to deliver the
orders as quickly as possible, some pay little attention to traffic rules. In recent years, there have been a number of
terrible traffic accidents because of this. Moreover, the industry is p 7 unbelievable amounts of
packaging waste: over a million tons of online food delivery boxes are thrown away every year. Experts assume
that this number will continue to g 8 in the future, which will be harmful for the environment.
