We journalists live in a new age of storytelling, with many new multimedia tools. Many young people don't even realize it's new. For them, it's just normal.
This hit__home__for__me as I was sitting with my 2 year old grandson on a sofa over the Spring Festival holiday. I had brought a children's book to read. It had simple words and colorful pictures—a perfect match for his age.
Picture this: my grandson sitting on my lap as I hold the book in front so he can see the pictures. As I read, he reaches out and pokes (戳) the page with his finger.
What's up with that He just likes the pictures, I thought. Then I turned the page and continued. He poked the page even harder. I nearly dropped the book. I was confused: Is there something wrong with this kid
Then I realized what was happening. He was actually a stranger to books. His father frequently amused the boy with a tablet computer which was loaded with colorful pictures that come alive when you poke them. He thought my storybook was like that.
Sorry, kid. This book is not part of your high tech world. It's an outdated, lifeless thing. An antique, like your grandfather. Well, I may be old, but I'm not hopelessly challenged, digitally speaking. I edit video and produce audio. I use mobile payment. I've even built websites.
There's one notable gap in my new media experience, however: I've spent little time in front of a camera, since I have a face made for radio. But that didn't stop China Daily from asking me last week to share a personal story for a video project about the integration of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province.
Anyway, grandpa is now an Internet star—two minutes of fame! I promise not to let it go to my head. But I will make sure my 2 year old grandson sees it on his tablet.
24.What do the underlined words “hit home for me” mean in paragraph 2
A.Provided shelter for me.
B.Became very clear to me.
C.Took the pressure off me.
D.Worked quite well on me.
根据第一段的内容并分析画线部分后文“as I was sitting with my 2 year old grandson on a sofa over the Spring Festival holiday”可知,作者作为记者,生活在讲故事的新时代,有许多新的多媒体工具。
25.Why did the kid poke the storybook
A.He took it for a tablet computer.
B.He disliked the colorful pictures.
C.He was angry with his grandpa.
D.He wanted to read it by himself.
答案:A
根据第五段中的“He was actually a stranger to books ... thought my storybook was like that.” 故选A。
26.What does the author think of himself
A.Socially ambitious.
B.Physically attractive.
C.Financially independent.
D.Digitally competent.
根据倒数第三段中的“Well, I may be old ... I've even built websites.”
27.What can we learn about the author as a journalist
A.He lacks experience in his job.
B.He seldom appears on television.
C.He manages a video department.
D.He often interviews Internet stars.
根据倒数第二段中的“I've spent little time in front of a camera, since I have a face made for radio (我很少在镜头前待着,因为我的脸是为电台而生的)”可知,作者作为记者很少上电视。故选B。

(2025·云南省德宏州高三定位监测)Bournemouth in Dorset has always been my favourite seaside town. When I was growing up, Mum and Dad didn't have much money, but they'd saved enough for a few days in Bournemouth. I was four years old at the time. I don't actually remember much about the trip, apart from being devastated when we had to leave. Mum said I fell in love with the place and insisted on waving goodbye to the sea when it was time to go. So I grew up believing Bournemouth was a wonderful place.
Forty years on, my wife and I returned for a week's break. I was nervous, wondering if I'd be able to bring back that delight I'd felt as a child. I needn't have worried. We had a fantastic time. It helped that the British weather had decided to provide us with high temperatures and plenty of sun. But it was Bournemouth that kept me spellbound, making me feel like a child again.
Bournemouth and its neighbour, Boscombe, are always busy, alive with chatter, music and other lively sounds. But as we stepped into Boscombe Chine Gardens, all the noise faded away. A sense of peace spread through us as we meandered along the paths, delighting in the squirrels climbing up and down the trees and the bright colours of the pretty plants.
One morning, we made a short trip to Poole Quay and took the ferry to Brownsea Island. Owned by the National Trust, it's a feast for the eyes, from its mock Tudor entrance, to the many peacocks walking around, to the magnificent views of the sun sparkling on the shining waters and boats bobbing up and down, seen from the island's highest point.
Before we knew it, it was time to return home—but not before waving goodbye to the sea.

4.Which of the following best explains “devastated” underlined in Paragraph 1
A.Sorrowful. B.Surprised.
C.Thrilled. D.Desperate.
答案:A
根据第一段中的“Mum said I fell in love ... was a wonderful place.” 故选A。
5.What made the author feel nervous
A.The fear of losing childhood memories.
B.The adjustment to the new circumstances.
C.The uncertainty of recalling childhood delight.
D.The exposure to high temperatures and sunshine.
根据第二段中的“I was nervous ... as a child.”
6.What does the author think about Boscombe Chine Gardens
A.It boasts seaside views.
B.It belongs to wild animals.
C.It is free of the town's noise.
D.It reminds him of his childhood.
根据第三段中的“But as we stepped into ... faded away.”
7.What is the text mainly about
A.Farewell to Bournemouth.
B.Working in a wonderful place.

Ⅱ.七选五
(2025·湖北省武汉外国语学校高三月考)When I was a kid, I took traveling with my parents for granted. Sure, they paid for everything. But they were basically no different from teachers taking us to a field trip. __1__. For example, they took us to Denali National Park instead of Disney World. And we sometimes stayed at hotels without pools. And they never let us buy anything from the SkyMall catalog (目录).
Of course, some 20 years later, I consider traveling with my parents, now both in their 60s, to be the utmost privilege. __2__. Neither am I, and every day that passes brings us closer to our last. Fortunately, since graduating college, I've been able to cover some serious ground with each of them.
Together my dad and I have looked for the Loch Ness monster in Scotland, photographed wildlife in Grand Teton National Park, and most recently, survived the famously dangerous Drake Passage. Meanwhile, my mom and I have stayed at a $9/night tree house hostel in Mexico, eaten at a Michelin starred vegetarian restaurant in Vienna, and most recently, road tripped through three states.
__3__. After all, even if you're the apple that fell right under the tree, traveling with the people who raised you isn't always easy. “__4__,” says Alexis Sherry, a New Jersey based travel agent. Still, Sherry is seeing an increasing number of clients requesting vacations for more than one generation. They can be difficult to plan, but so far she says she's had no “disasters,” and often, her clients come back closer than ever.
“Our parents are our earliest attachment bonds,” says Katie d' Autremont, a licensed professional adviser based in Bozeman, Montana. “It can be healing and fun to rekindle that bond in our adult years and as our adult selves.” She sees traveling together as the perfect opportunity for getting to know each other for who we are now, with “now” being the key word. __5__.
A.Those memories are golden
B.I know they're no longer unbeatable
C.After all, as humans, we're always evolving
D.That's not to say that all of our trips have been without flaws
E.To my brothers and me, they seemed to be bent on limiting our fun
F.Planning a vacation can be considerably tricky when it involves demanding parents
G.There are always challenges as we are dealing with different physical abilities and interests
SkyMall catalog (目录).”
3.答案:D
解析:根据下文“After all ... isn't always easy.”
4.答案:G
解析:根据上文“traveling with ... isn't always easy”以及下文“her clients come back closer than ever”可知,旅行中虽然有挑战,但也有可能增进关系。

27.What can we learn about the author as a journalist

B.He seldom appears on television.
