Unit 3 Language in use
一、教学目标:
A. Knowledge Objects:
词汇: hair, gold, forest, once upon, decide, basket, notice, dark, pick , soon, lost, around, little, towards, knock, bowl, hungry, right, either
词组: go for a walk, point at, be lost, hurry to do, in pieces, pick up, once upon a time, all alone
B. Ability Objects:
1、能听懂简单故事中的主要人物和事件。
2、能运用一般过去式叙述过去的事情。
3、能读懂简单的故事,明白其中的主要人物,事件以及情节的先后顺序。进行简单的阅读技能训练。
4、学习运用恰当词语讲解童话故事,能够尝试阅读一些简短的英文童话故事。能注意发现语言现象背后的规律,并能运用规律举一反三。
C. Moral Objects:
1、试比较中国童话与外国童话的异同,通过外国童话了解世界不同地方的风俗习惯,从而拓展视野,激发学习英语的兴趣。
2、学会与同学合作,共同完成学习任务。通过阅读童话故事提高对英语的学习兴趣,感受学习的乐趣,提高对英语的学习兴趣。
二、教学重点:
1、本模块的重点词汇和短语,理解并熟读本模块的对话和课文。
2、通过童话故事训练学生的听、说、读、写能力,掌握规则动词的一般过去式。
3、通过本模块的学习,提高学生听说读写各项技能,能读懂简单的英文故事。
三、教学难点:
1、正确理解并熟练使用本模块的词汇短语。
2、掌握动词的过去式和逐步形成正确使用一般过去时的意识。
四、教学课时安排:
本模块大致用一周的时间完成。新课用5个课时结束(不含习题课和测试),其中Unit 1用两个课时,Unit 2用两个课时,Unit 3用一个课时。其他的课时用于讲、练和测试及分析试题。
五、课型:Revision and application
六、教学准备:
本节课型为Revision and application,根据新课标的要求,结合教材和学生特点,主要采用任务型互动式进行教学,结合情景法、交际法、听说法、归纳法等教学方法实施课堂活动,开启学生思维,通过一系列有条理的教学活动,引导学生自主探究学习和与他人互动合作学习,让学生体验愉快学习。本节课所需教具及资料:幻灯片等。
七、教学过程:
Step 1: Lead-in
学生观看英文版《Goldilocks and The Three Bears》视频, 这是本模块的一个童话故事,学生比较熟悉且学生兴趣浓厚,从而导入本节课。
师:What is the name of the story?
生:《Goldilocks and the Three Bears》
幻灯片展示 Fairy Tales
师:Do you remember this phrase:“Fairy Tales”?
What kind of words or phrases do you think of when you see “Fairy Tales”?Anything is ok.
学生可以自由发挥,消除学生的紧张感。由“童话故事”想到的短语或者单词等等,学生想到的都是一些童话故事的名字如:白雪公主、皇帝的新装等,教师引导学生考虑:童话故事中的主人公形象、童话故事是否有趣、幽默等等,总之学生自由想象即可。
师:I think most of you know these two famous fairy tales books.
幻灯片展示两本书的图片:安徒生童话和格林童话。
And most fairy tales you read from these books, do you think so?
设计意图:视频导入,抓住学生注意力,紧接着讨论关于童话故事的知识,配以格林童话和安徒生童话的图片,顺利进入下一个环节。
Step 2:连线搭配,调动积极性
幻灯片展示:童话故事的图片及其英文名字
让学生连线搭配,难度不大。学生可以快速了解中外比较闻名的童话故事的英文表达。在教授过程在教师解释几个学生不认识的单词,如:“Emperor”means “king”等。

F. Cinderella
童话故事是学生感兴趣的话题,通过连线搭配学生可以快速了解中外比较闻名的童话故事的英文表达,为下一步学生结对练习对话提供素材储备。另外还可以激起学生兴趣,调动其学习的积极性。
Step 3: Make a short dialogue (with your partner结对练习对话).
Ask the Ss to make dialogue with their partners like this:
A: What was your favorite fairy tales when you were a child?
B: when I ______ years old I like ______ best.
A: Why?
B: ________.
Then let students show their dialogue. If they do it well, the teacher should praise them.
设计意图: 激起学生兴趣后马上做一个较简单的,且与本节课内容紧密联系的对话练习,通过练习使学生快速进入学习状态,同时熟悉本节课的话题。
Step 4: Read and check (课本Around the world)阅读开眼界,长知识
Have the students read “Around the world” of Unit 3 on page53. Then check true or false.
Then ask them “How do they know the answer?”.

设计意图:本节课的特点之一就是:对课本内容进行了大胆的调整把课本的Around the world放在本堂课的前面,让学生通过阅读,了解世界范围内关于“童话故事”的知识,学生阅读童话故事还可以提高对英语的学习兴趣,感受学习的乐趣。同时也开阔眼界,有了阅读的兴趣,并且进行了简单的阅读技能的训练。
Step 4: Let's review (2) 复习如何用英文讲故事
Ask students to answer: How to tell a story?
1. Begin with: Once upon a time...
Who? There was a ______ called______.
What happened? The Simple Past Tense (一般过去时)
设计意图:和学生一起复习如何讲故事,为下一个环节:小组合作复述故事做好铺垫,给学生的语言输出做准备。
Step 5: Story time!
再次播放英文版《Goldilocks and The Three Bears》,让学生跟读。通过跟读童话故事,复习Unit 1和Unit 2中已经学过的英文句子,为下一个环节复述故事做准备。同时体会故事中各个人物的情感,尽量让学生模仿故事中人物的语调语气等。
Step 6:小组合作复述故事,为下一步语言输出做准备 。
幻灯片展示根据故事内容提炼的13副图片,如下:



Tell Ss to describe each picture with sentences. The teacher can make an example,then ask them who want to do it.
Talk about the story in their groups. Make sure a student a sentence or a picture.
Have some groups show the story of《Goldilocks and the Three Bears》.
教师幻灯片展示“金凤花姑娘”的图片,学生小组合作(五分钟),根据所给出的图片复述故事。
设计意图:学生复述故事有一定的难度,但是根据图片在小组内合作讲故事,学生基本能够完成,教师提出要求:学生展示时一个学生至少一句话或者一副图片。 通过小组合作培养学生学会与同学合作,共同完成学习任务。
Step7: Have the students do Activity 1 and Activity 2 of Unit 3 on page 52,ask students to do them on their own, then check answers together.

学生自己独立完成本题,注意第六题是“answer”而不是“answered”,因为前面有“didn't”.
Activity 2
Once upon a time there was a small boy called Tom. One day Tom (1) _______to go for a walk in the dark forest. He (2)______ for a short time and then he (3)______ some flowers. Next, he (4) _______ a little house. He (5) _______ on the door but nobody (6) _________. He (7) ______ the house. There (8) _____ a big table, a big chair, a big bowl and a big bear. Then Tom (9) ______ at the bowl of food with big eyes. The bear (10) ______ Tom, “Are you hungry? Try some of my food.” Tom tried the food. Then they were good friends.
设计意图:Activity 1 用所给单词的适当形式填空,主要考察学生对于规则动词过去时的变化。Activity 2是课外的一篇故事,内容紧扣本节课的知识,既有动词过去时的考察也有对整篇故事的总体理解。要求学生自己独立完成,以达到巩固所学知识的目的。
Step 7: Telling story (Work in pairs.)中国古老神话,学生小组合作,英文表述,语言输出
师:Today I will show you another story. This is a traditional fairy tale in our country China.
幻灯片展示:“精卫填海”图片
师:It's the story. Look at the pictures. Think about it. How to tell the story?
Tell me some sentences about each picture.
Help the students to understand the meaning of the story, such as: Emperor Yan and so on.
Then teacher makes an example of picture 1, then let students make sentences about each picture. The teacher helps Ss to make sentences together.
首先展示“精卫填海”的图片,让学生思考应该如何讲述这个故事。教师可以先示范图片1,紧接着和学生一起用英文表描述其他图片。
设计意图:学生只有看懂读懂简单的故事,明白其中的主要人物,事件以及情节的先后顺序,才能完整的讲述“精卫填海”这个中国神话故事。通过Telling story (Work in pairs),让学生试比较中国童话与外国童话的异同,另外还可以通过外国童话了解世界不同地方的风俗习惯,从而拓展视野,激发学习英语的兴趣。
Step8: Module task (write the story)
Ask students to write the story after class, they can begin with the following: Once upon a time, there was a little girl called Nüwa. Her father was Emperor Yan and he loved .. .. ..
Use words like: and, so, but, because, first, next, then, finally.
设计意图:学生已经有了充足的语言输出,要完成写故事的任务是非常容易的,但是增加了一点难度:用上红色字体的单词and, so, but, because, first, next, and, then, and, finally,在作文在用上这些单词,学生写出的作文将会过渡更自然,内容更丰富。
Step9: Homework
Level A: Write the story of module task.
Level B: Remember the words and phrases and the past tense we learnt in this module.
设计意图:针对不同层次的学生布置不同的作业,让学生根据自己的实际情况自主选择,可以使每个层次的学生都有各自收获。
