Nodding while listening to people shows that you are listening carefully. 28 If you nod too much, it may make people feel uncomfortable as they may think you are just trying to agree with everything.
29
You also need to be patient while people are speaking. It is rude to speak while others are still talking. Even if you want the speaker to explain something for you, please wait until they finish their part.

Do you know the pets’ feelings When is your dog happy A new app called Happy Pets can tell you the answer.
The app can analyze the faces of cats and dogs. Then it can tell you what kind your pet is and how it is feeling. It can show you some feelings-happy, angry, sad and afraid.
Scientists in Australia make the app. The key of the app is facial recognition, a common use of AI. We can unlock our mobile phones with it. But this is the first time to use this tech with animals.
How does the app work First, it analyzes a picture of an animal. Then, it analyzes the face of your pet. Is it a dog or a cat Next comes the most important thing—finding out the feeling of the animal. For example, if a dog closes its eyes and mouth while moving its ears back, this means the dog is afraid. To get this skill, the app “see” and “read” a lot of example pictures before.
Can the app tell us the feelings of pets exactly The scientists are sure about it. They find that cats are more difficult to read than dogs. In the future, maybe the app will analyze a pet’s body language.
16.Happy Pets can tell people the ________ of a pet.

We can see circles, squares and triangles (三角形) everywhere in our daily life. Have you thought about their meanings in films Much like colors, different shapes can show different features (特征) of characters in the scenes.
Circles represent (代表) things that are soft and natural. The round shape reminds us of things that appear in nature, like the sun, flowers, raindrops and so on. We can also connect circles with beautiful eyes, babies’ round faces. All these things make us feel happy and warm. This is why so many cartoon characters’ bodies — heroes, kids, good people — are round in shape, because circles represent goodness, happiness and friendliness.
Squares show things that are unnatural or man-made, or things that are boring or old-fashioned. In Up (《飞屋环游记》), Carl, an elderly man, has a square face and wears square glasses, while Russell, an 8-year-old boy with a round face, always wears round medals. These shapes show the characters’ personalities. Carl is stubborn and lonely, while Russell is lovely and full of energy .
The angriest shape is the triangle. Every kid who draws a monster with sharp teeth draws a row of triangles, don’t they That’s because the shape represents fear, distrust and doubt in some way. Look at the bad guys in cartoons — they are all drawn with plenty of points and triangles, like Shengongbao in Ne Zha. And triangles are stable and don’t easily fall down. In films, this feature makes bad people difficult to deal with.
Not only in cartoons, but also in other kinds of films, different shapes are used for the same purpose. So, next time you see a film, try to find the hidden shapes and you will know what the characters are like.
21.How many shapes are mentioned in the text
A. Two. B. Three. C. Four. D. Five.

A. By telling a good story. B. By giving an example.

23.What’s the purpose to mention Shengongbao in paragraph 4
A. To introduce him.
B. To prove him maybe a bad person.
C. To leave kids fearful.
D. To show the difficulties to deal with him.
24.Which of the following is the structure of the text
A. B. C. D.
25.What is the text mainly about
A. Why different shapes represent different things.
B. What makes kids fascinated by heroes in films.
C. What different shapes represent in different films.
D. How cartoons make different colors and shapes.
