Dr.Fritz Jones is an astronaut doctor working at an international space center.Since he was a kid,he has always wanted to be a doctor and a pilot.His dream came true when he was admitted into the Space Center after he graduated from a medical college.
Before he started his work,he received six months of extra training to learn about how flying affects human body.“It’s not just about feeling light or having your ears pop,” he explained.“Flying can make us feel uncomfortable,affect our thinking and even change how medicines work inside our body.” What’s more,astronaut doctors like him are expected to fly as well.Therefore,he also has had the experience of flying different types of helicopters and airplanes.
Now,Dr.Jones is taking care of astronauts when they get sick or injured.While astronauts are in space,there are additional effects on their bodies,such as zero gravity.They may feel seasick during their first few days in space due to the effects on their balance system.Besides,spacewalks also present unique medical concerns.As a result,their health conditions are closely monitored and taken care of by Dr.Jones and his medical team.At the same time,the team conduct regular check-ups and provide medical advice if needed.After returning to Earth,astronauts need doctors to help them with their health problems caused by space travel.
Dr.Jones finds his job extremely cool,as he helps prepare individuals to travel to space,takes care of them while they are out there,and welcomes them back home.And now he even works with engineers to design spacecrafts to ensure astronauts travel to and return from space safely.Maybe one day he will become an astronaut himself!
