I stopped to watch my little girl busy playing in her room. In one hand was a plastic phone ; in the other a toy. I listened as she was speaking to her makebelieve little friend and I'll never forget the words she said, even though it was imagined.
She said, “Suzie's in the corner because she's not been very good. She didn't listen to a word I said or do the things she should.” In the corner I saw her baby doll well dressed. It was obvious that she'd been put there to sit alone and think.
My daughter continued her “conversation”, as I sat down on the floor. She said, “I'm all fed up and I just don't know what to do with her any more. She cries whenever I have to work and wants to play games too. She tries to help me with the dishes, but her arms just cannot reach... And she doesn't know how to fold towels. I don't have the time to teach. I have a lot of work to do and a big house to keep clean. I don't have the time to sit and play—don't you know what I mean?”
And that day I thought a lot about making some changes in my life, after listening to her innocent words which cut me like a knife. I hadn't been paying enough attention to what I hold most dear. I'd been caught up in responsibilities that increased throughout the years.
But now my attitude has changed because in my heart I realize that I've seen the world in a different light through my little darling's eyes. So let the cobwebs(蜘蛛网) cut the corners and the dust bunny rabbit rule the floor. I'm not going to worry about keeping up with them anymore.
I'm going to fill the house with memories of a child and her mother, for we have only one childhood and we will never get another.

The number of bicycle trips has increased greatly over the past several months, according to the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT).
Mike West, a 33yearold father of two children, lives in Daybreak. Two months ago, a friend offered to lend the West family his tricycle cargo bike (三轮载货自行车). The first time the family took a ride together, they were all hooked__.
“My youngest son's got a bike, but he can't really go very far,” West said. “When he was in the cargo bike, it was like his happy place. I thought it was so cool that you can put a family in a bike and they can bike around.”
Following the first ride, the family immediately bought a cargo bike of their own and biking has now become their primary form of transportation.
“It's about being together as a family, but also just being outside you get more sensory input (感官输入) on a bike than you do in a car,” West said.“You feel the wind in your hair, you can see things, and you hear all the noises. That's one thing about it that we love.”
“Bike trips have increased 52% in 2020, which is not only having a good influence on traffic jams, but also on the physical health of community members,” said UDOT spokesman John Gleason.
Gleason warns bicyclists to wear bright clothing to make themselves visible (看得见的) to drivers of motorized vehicles (机动车辆), and for them to be on the lookout. “We're just asking drivers to watch out for bicyclists in places where maybe they wouldn't normally see them, and for bicyclists to make sure that they're seen,” he said.“Make sure they understand that just because they see the vehicles doesn't mean that the drivers of those vehicles see them. Do everything that you can to follow the rules of the road for both drivers and pedestrians(行人).”

If you visit Rwanda's capital city of Kigali, you'll see how the COVID19 pandemic has changed the city. There are dozens of handwashing basins at the city's bus stations that allow passengers to wash their hands before getting on the bus. Layla Mc Cay, director of the Centre for Urban Design and Mental Health in the AUAS told the BBC, “If everyone was washing their hands actively, we would see a reduction in all types of infection.”
In fact, every time there is a serious disease outbreak somewhere in the world, city planners come up with new ideas to fight it. Pandemics have been shaping our cities for a long time.
In 1854, for example, a cholera (霍乱) outbreak in London, UK led to the design of modern sewers (下水道). At that time, Londoners' drinking water came from groundwater. It was heavily polluted by wastewater. The sewer system separated the wastewater from the groundwater. This stopped the spread of cholera. “By sewering certain towns in England, the death rate from lung diseases alone was reduced by 50 percent, ” George Pierson wrote in his book The Separate System of Sewerage.
In New York, US, tuberculosis(肺结核)killed many people in the early 1900s. One reason was the overcrowded conditions in apartment buildings. Eventually the New York government made laws that required all apartments to have air shafts, windows, running water and indoor toilets.
During this year's pandemic, Mayor of Paris Anne Hidaogo introduced the idea of decentralizing__the__city__—every neighborhood should have a mix of stores, homes, offices, and other important buildings. Every basic need should be just a 15minute walk away. This would reduce crowding on public transportation and prevent the spread of disease.

It seems that friendship can also exist between dogs and horses. I've witnessed one inspiring case.
One morning, I went outside to feed our horse Bullet. Usually, Bullet waits eagerly at the fence for his breakfast. But this morning he stayed near a tree in the pasture's center. As he began joyfully walking toward me, I noticed a dog lying in the tall grass beneath the tree. So this was what held Bullet's attention this morning: a homeless dog. Most of the homeless dogs shied away from our large Bullet, but this one seemed to feel safe in the shelter of the tall grass regardless of Bullet. I placed alfalfa cubes inside the fence. After Bullet ate them, I'd give him some cookies he loved most.
I walked back to my porch and sat down. As Bullet ate alfalfa, the dog stood up cautiously, stared at Bullet for long and then slowly walked toward Bullet. The dog often paused and looked at me to ensure I wasn't a threat. As the dog drew closer to Bullet, I held my breath. I didn't know how Bullet would react to an animal that approached while he was eating. Knowing a horse's kick can kill a dog, I decided to scare the dog away. Just then Bullet swung his head and looked at the dog. Not minding it, he ate his food again.
The dog drew close enough to take an alfalfa cube. My heart broke as I watched the dog—a female—chewing on the alfalfa. She must be extremely hungry to attempt to eat horse feed. I went inside the house, carried some meat and walked toward the fence. The dog soon ran to the safety of the tall grass near the tree. I put the meat down outside the fence and went back inside the house. She'd probably come for the meat when I was out of sight.
Minutes later, I realized I hadn't yet given Bullet his cookies. I took some and went back outside. Amazingly, Bullet was lying down in the grass beneath the tree with the dog next to him. I smiled at the warm scene they created.

2.请按如下格式作答。

参考范文:
Knowing I carried his treat, Bullet got up quickly and ran to me. The dog watched as I threw cookies over the fence. I noticed she hadn't gotten the courage to venture outside the fence to get the meat. I went back to the porch, trying to think of a way to make the dog overcome her fear and come for the meat. Noticing Bullet was eating, the dog began to move forward slowly, watching me all the while. “He might share his alfalfa with you, but he'll never let you eat his favorite cookies!” I said to myself.
But Bullet didn't care as the dog jumped forward and took a cookie. The dog soon swallowed the cookie, and then took more. When Bullet walked back toward the tree's shade, the dog walked along. All day long, they stayed together. The next day, Bullet still shared his food with the dog. And I managed to make the dog get out of the pasture and adopted her. Although she eventually warmed to me, she always loved Bullet's company most. They'd run joyfully together and rest together. And often Bullet touched the dog with his nose and she licked his face. I knew they had become close friends.

During this year's pandemic, Mayor of Paris Anne Hidaogo introduced the idea of decentralizing the city —every neighborhood should have a mix of stores, homes, offices, and other important buildings. Every basic need should be just a 15minute walk away. This would reduce crowding on public transportation and prevent the spread of disease.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的短文。
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式作答。
Knowing I carried his treat, Bullet got up quickly and ran to me.
__________________________________________________________
But Bullet didn't care as the dog jumped forward and took a cookie.
___________________________________________________________
