David stood in front of the door and opened it hurriedly. His forehead damp with sweat, David rushed into the house. In the darkness, he tried to pull himself together and then turned on the lights. What he could see was nothing but an empty scary room. Fear flooded him. He called his mother at the top of his lungs, but there was no response. The uneasy feeling sharpened into panic, he jumped to his feet and ran to make a phone call to his mother. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and came a familiar voice.
