Step one: warming up
Avtivity 1: Free talk
T: Do you like travelling?
S: Yes.
T: How did you get there?
S: By ship/bus /train/plane
T: (show two pictures, one is a train, the other is a ticket to a train) class, three years ago, I went to some places in the south of China. I went there by train. And here is one of the tickets. There is so much information on it. Right? Where I should sit?
S: You should sit Car 7 Seat 10B(Teacher and students can say it together)
T: When does the train leave?

Step two: lead-in
Today we will learn It’s a long story which belongs to a play. What is a play? Do you want to know more about it?
First, The structure (结构)of a play: three parts, that is, the beginning, the middle and the end.?
Then, key points(要素) of a play: instruction of stage(舞台说明), a cast of characters (人物), plot (故事情节) and confliction (矛盾冲突).
Step three: presentation
Avtivity 1:
Read the whole play as quickly as possible and think about my question: who’s main character (主要人物)in the play? Who else?
Avtivity 2:
Read the whole play again. First, try to divide the play into three parts, if you are not sure, you can discuss in your group. Second, answer my question: what happened to them?
Avtivity 3: Enjoy the play
Part one: find out instructions of stage in the play and read them.
Part two: question: what’s the confliction of the play?
Part three: analyze some characters of the play. In the part, ask students to find out what did Li Lin and the elderly man said and read them in their own way with their beautiful voice. The teacher can give them some advice on how to read them in a correct way.
Step four: Watch a video.
Let students pay more attention to their words, actions and expressions. Later they can act out the play in a better way.
Step five: Show time
Act out any part of the play you like with your partners. After finishing it, come to the front and show it for us.
Step six: Work in pairs
1. What can we learn from the play?
2. What should we do in our daily life and can you say some examples?
Step seven: Summary
Let’s summarize what we have learnt today. 1. Know something about a play.
2. Care about old people and help others.
Step eight: Homework
