学情分析
学生七年级下册就已经学过现在进行时,并掌握如何使用现在进行时来描述日常生活琐事,而且在Unit5前三课时中我们已经初步掌握了过去进行时“was/were doing”的结构和when/while的句型,这有利于学生在讲述过去的事情或过去自己的故事时运用这些结构和句型,并使故事更生动完美。
效果分析
本课时通过课文与实际生活相联系,锻炼了学生的口语表达能力,讲练结合的方式使学生更好地掌握了知识
课后反思
本节课最大的特点是将听说读写教学融于一体,且环节紧凑。尤其是对词汇和目标语言的处理可谓是一大亮点:本节课词汇、目标语言复现率高,巧妙地贯穿于整个听说教学中。本节课还充分发挥了多媒体的优势,利用图片将故事情节生动化、形象化,呈现给学生学习语言需要的材料,为学生搭建了一个很好的语言练习平台。在导入环节中,通过扮演故事中的人物讲故事,营造了轻松愉快的氛围,学生积极参与,作为教学前奏,为后面的学习作了很好的铺垫。我们不难看出,在课堂教学中,如果教师设计了一个轻松愉快的贴近生活的语言环境,创造一个学生没有心理压力,不受任何约束,又能充分展现自我的课堂氛围,这就自然地使他们放松,激起他们开口说英语的欲望。通过多种形式的听、说、读、写语言实践活动 让学生体味到了英语语言的真正魅力所在。因此,有目的,有乐趣的课堂活动不失为一种鼓励学生大胆说英语的好方法。“施之以教,贵在引导”。教师通过自己的主导作用发挥学生的主体作用,通过丰富多彩的任务情境调动学生的学习积极性,主动地投入学习。

一、功能:Talk about past events.
二、词汇和常用表达:Learn to use words and sentences: realize ,wait for, make one’s way to, the school basketball competition
三、学习策略:Learn to predict the answer to the question by looking through the cue .Sum up the sentence patterns and useful expressions in the conversation. Get some listening information from the sentences in 1b and 1c. Role-play the conversation with a partner.
四、情感态度:to beautify their homes, pay close attention to stray animals, form a good habit of punctuality
Teaching and learning steps
Step1 Revision
复习本单元学过的句型,What were you doing when the rainstorm came? 利用多媒体展示图片,更好的帮助他们完成任务。尽可能多的找学生回答这个问题,让大多数学生参与进来。
Step 2完成教材1a—1d的任务:
1a:1.让学生浏览1a的活动要求,明确任务。教师给予多媒体中的图片启发学生,要求学生尽量用完整的句子回答,为后面能顺畅的讲故事做好铺垫。
*Can you think of a time when you were late for class?
*When was that?
*What did you say to your teacher?
*What happened to you ?
*What did your teacher say to you ?
2.请一两个学生按照刚才的提问要点串联成一个相对完整的故事在课堂上说一遍。
3. 小组内互相说说你参加某项活动时出现的导致你不能按时参加或不能参加的原因及其中的故事。
1b-1d:1.听前引导学生阅读1b中的三个问题对听力内容进行预测,特别是对第三个问题:Which team won at the event ?可推断至少是某种比赛。认真阅读1b中的问题,听录音并且将问题的答案写在横线上,完成后集体核对答案。
2.再听一遍录音,按事情的发展顺序给6个句子标出序号,完成后请几名学生展示自己的答案,然后教师点拨。
3.认真听一遍录音,整体感知事情的全部过程。
4.根据听力信息两人一组仿照1d形式来谈论 Kate为什么没有赶上篮球比赛,学生A以when或while为开头说句子,学生B根据听力信息来补全学生A的句子,并邀请几名同学来展示。
Talk about why Kate missed the school basketball competition.(Student A begins a sentence with while or when. Student B completes the sentence.

5.完成1d的句子接龙,可采用学生轮流出题,轮流接龙的方式,把两人接龙转换成多人接龙。比如:
A:When the school basketball compitition started ......
B: When the school basketball compitition started ,Kate was still making her way to school .
C: When Kate got to the bus stop ......
D:When Kate got to the bus stop , she realized that her bag was still at home.
E: .........
6. 多让学生练习这一接龙活动,锻炼他们的语言表达能力。
