一、教学目标:
1.知识目标:能听懂、会说、会读新单词以及不定式句型。
2.能力目标:能听懂谈论关于濒危动物的对话内容,了解动物处于危险的原因,并最终找出拯救它们的方法。
3.情感目标:通过这一系列的活动,能够使学生增强保护环境的意识,并提高爱护动物的自觉性。
二、本课的重、难点:
了解并掌握动词不定式的基本结构和用法。
教学过程:
Step1. Warming-up.
1. Free talk: T: Do you like animals?
S: Yes, I do.
T: What animals do you like?
S: The students’ own answers.
T: Ok. Very good. Let’s enjoy some pictures about lovely animals.
【设计意图】学生通过观看关于动物的图片,导入新课。让学生熟悉该话题,猜课文内容,并引起其学习的兴趣和欲望。
2. T: Do you think the animals live happily?
S: The students’ own answers.
T: Watch a video about some animals and think about——What’s happening to the animals? Are they having a good life or a bad life?
【设计意图】学生通过观看关于濒危动物的视频,形象直观地进一步了解动物濒危的原因,为下一步的学习做好准备和铺垫。通过让学生欣赏影片让学生说出其感受,从而很自然地导入话题。
Step2. Guessing.
T: Do you want these animals to die?
S: No.
T: Yes. We should save the animals. What can we do?
S: Protect them.
T: Great! Let’s look after them and protect them. Well, we will learn how to do it in our class. In this unit, we will choose one animal and try to help it. Before you choose the animal, let’s get some information about the animals in danger. Let’s begin by playing a guessing game.
(The teacher describes the animals and ask the class to guess.)
T: Now, I have another question for you. Do you know where pandas live?
S: Wolong Panda Reserve.
T: Why do they live there?
S: Because they are in danger.
T: Yes, they are in danger, and we build reserves to protect them. Can you think out the other animals in danger? Give me some names.
S: Polar bears, zebras, golden monkeys, camels and so on.
T: There are a lot of animals in danger.

Step3. Pre-listening.
T: There is a very good and popular TV programme about animals in danger. If you want to get more information, you can call “Animal World”. Now, please listen to a dialogue about “Animal World ” and find out the answers to the questions.
Q: 1.What is this week's Animal World about?
2. What animals are in danger?
S: 1.This week's Animal World is about snakes.
2. Animals such as pandas, lions, elephants and bears are in danger.

Step4. While-listening.
1. T: In fact, there are many more animals in danger. They live in a very dangerous and crazy world, but they share one dream together——That’s to live in the peace in the wild. Now listen carefully and check the true sentences.
(1)People can get closer to the pandas in the Wolong Panda Reserve.
(2)The animals have a safe place to live.
(3)The notice wants students to help save animals.

Step5.Read the dialogue.
T: Watch the dialogue between Lingling and Betty, and then act it out. First, let’s watch, while you are watching, pay attention to the tones.
【设计意图】训练学生模仿纯正的英语录音,注意语音、语调、停顿、重音等,经过不断的听、朗读、背诵,形成语感。
Step6.Post-listening.
T: Now, you all know many animals are in danger, but why are they in danger?
S: The students’ own answers.
T: I’ll show you some pictures, maybe you can get the answers from them.
T: Look at the pictures. How do you feel?
S: Sad.
T: I feel sad too. There are some animals in danger around us. Would you like to help them?
Discussion: Now many animals are in danger,such as pandas, tigers, lions, elephants and so on. If you are a member of World Wild Fund for Nature(世界自然基金会),what will you do for the animals?
Work in groups, choose one animal in danger, and discuss what you can do to protect them. Then give us a report.
