Yao Zhihui, an experienced high-speed train electrician, is devoted to her work. No issue is not important for her to solve. “Each high-speed rail car has 19, 726 wire harnesses (线束) and nearly 100,000 connection points,” said Yao, 37, who works for CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles, a high-speed train manufacturer based in Northeast China’s Jilin Province.
After graduating from Northeast Electric Power University in 2011, Yao was employed by the company. Since then, she has dealt with nearly 50 key production processes for 13 types of high-speed trains and solved 76 technical issues.
At first, she wasn’t clear about the specifics of her job. She was arranged to connect train wires, which requires removing insulation (绝缘层). To accurately remove it, she practiced over 200 times every day. She and her colleagues worked within a space of less than five square meters, so she had to kneel (跪着) to work for two to three hours at a time.
Yao discovered later that despite having the same standards, the completion was quite different among workers-some wire ends had burrs (毛刺), some wire coils were out of shape. These issues might seem unimportant on the surface, but they brought safety risks to train operations. Yao spent a month thinking out a solution and created five electrical sample boards (样板). Every wire’s connection points, wiring positions and directions were shown in detail on each board. As long as wiring is done according to this standard, the quality will be ensured.
Yao has been developing her skills and improving her work, starting from upgrading blueprints, improving tools and setting standards, while also constantly summarizing the technical challenges in improving wiring efficiency, which has greatly increased production efficiency and reduced production costs in practical applications.
Yao was awarded as one of the company's top ten outstanding young employees. “I hope to inspire more colleagues with my actions and collectively work towards creating a shining example for Chinese manufacturing,” she said.
24.What is Yao’s main job at CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles
A.Designing advanced high-speed sample trains.
B.Connecting wires and solving technical issues.

A.Yao was good at getting well with others.
B.Yao learned the importance of her work at great pains.
C.Yao found it easy to clear the insulation of train wires.
D.Yao spared no effort to do her work well.
26.What problem did Yao Zhihui find
A.Not all wire connections were satisfactory.
B.The former sample boards were not shown.
C.The workers had a poor awareness of goals.
D.There were no details in avoiding safety risks.
27.Which of the following can best describe Yao
A.Kind and emotional. B.Humorous and outgoing.
C.Creative and responsible. D.Caring and determined.
We’ve all heard of free games online, but are these games really free Developing games involves costs and producers want t s want to recover their investment (投资). Many games are promoted as “free” upfront to attract players. Many free online games are easy to progress in the early stages and it seems fun to play.
Once a player has invested a fair amount of their time in progressing, the game becomes harder and it becomes difficult to progress without using additional features. These features are accessed by making in-app purchases (购买), or can be bought with points or game currency (货币) earned by watching video advertising.
In-app purchases are choices that can be bought with real money. These choices include improved character features, more desirable weapons, increased speed, and additional points. Only around 1.9 percent of people that play free games make in-app purchases. It is through these players that the developers earn real money.
Game developers collect data about players, such as what games they choose to play and how long they spend playing them. They collect data to suggest more games, which means more chances for players to spend money. Collected data can also be sold to other companies for them to present players with personalized advertisements (广告).
After playing for even just 20 minutes, a player would likely have viewed many advertising videos, sometimes for the same product many times, which are from companies that have bought data from the game developers to promote products. Even if players haven’t spent any real money on the game, they may become interested in buying what has been shown to them in these advertisements.
Perhaps it’s time for online games to be included in the current conversations about the dangers to young people using the Internet and for young players to consider the real cost of a free game. Free games are not harmless, they cost time and personal data, but also money if players are not careful.
28.Why do developers make free games harder after players invest time
A.To force players to find help.
B.To share players’ experience.
C.To make games more included.
D.To help players gain creativity.
29.What do we learn about in-app purchases
A.They happen among most players of free games.
B.They can only be made with game currency.
C.They are mainly used to improve game speed.
D.They help game developers make profits.
30.What is paragraph 4 mainly about
A.The reasons why developers collect players’ data.
B.The effects of data collection on game quality.
C.The types of data that game developers collect.
D.The ways game developers collect players’ data.
31.What is the author’s attitude to free online games
A.Favorable. B.Curious. C.Concerned. D.Frightened.
In our fast-paced world, music often serves as both a source of joy and stress. While it can uplift our spirits and provide comfort, it can also become overwhelming (令人不知所措的), especially when deadlines approach or pressures strengthen. That is music stress, a feeling of nervousness, worry, or unease that can come from listening to or playing music.
Music stress can appear in different signs, ranging from physical reactions, such as headaches, to mental disturbances, such as anxiety and depression. In some ways, music stress is similar to more general experiences of stress. For example, both can cause effects such as headaches, and difficulty in concentrating.
However, music stress is caused by a more specific form of factor-music, which tends to produce very specific types of reactions. For example, certain types of music can stir up an emotional response, such as sadness. This can lead to increased stress levels. Similarly, certain kinds of noise, like extremely loud or dissonant (刺耳的) sounds, can cause people to become overwhelmed. While this can be helpful for some purposes, such as creating a sense of tension in film, in some cases, it can be difficult to handle and might even contribute to heightened stress levels.
In addition, music stress can also result from the psychological (心理的) context in which the music is heard or played. If someone is listening to music as a way to evade his or her current anxiety or panic, the music can create a feeling of disappointment or stress when it can not provide the expected effect or when they don’t listen mindfully.
Understanding how music stress comes can help individuals better manage their stress levels. In general, an individual’s experience of music stress tends to depend on his or her personal preferences and psychological state of being at the time. If you have already been feeling stressed, it may be better to take a break from music entirely.
32.How does the author lead in the topic of the text
A.By sharing an experience. B.By giving a definition.
C.By taking an example. D.By offering a solution.
33.What cause of music stress is talked about in paragraph 3
A.The environment. B.Listeners’ feelings.
C.The music itself. D.Filmmakers’ state of mind.
34.What does the underlined word “evade” in paragraph 4 mean
A.Recognize. B.Imagine. C.Sense. D.Escape.
35.What can be the best title for the text
A.Music Can Sometimes Add to Your Stress B.The Power of Music: a Stress Reliever
C.Music Stress Might Show Unusual Reactions D.The Science Behind Music: a Psychological State

These small changes can reduce the amount of plastic waste and help us develop an awareness of environmental protection. 40
Sorting waste is everyone’s responsibility. At school and at home, we should learn to properly sort waste, such as recyclables, kitchen waste, and dangerous waste. Recyclables like paper, plastic bottles, and cans should be placed in recycling bins to reduce the impact of landfill and incineration (焚化) on the environment. We can also participate in school recycling activities by donating old books, newspapers, and other items to those in need, making better use of resources.
By adopting these simple practices, we can all contribute to a greener and more sustainable world.

【原文】M: Many years ago, I taught a student named Tom who was from a very poor family. He was very smart and never late with his homework. Every day at lunch I would see him go to the library instead of eating with everyone else. When I asked him about it, he said that he would rather study than eat. At first, I thought this was very good, but then I found out that he only did this because he could not afford to pay for lunch. I did not want to upset him by telling him what I learned, so I brought extra food with me every day and told him that my wife always packed me too much lunch because she was a chef at a restaurant and got food very cheap. He took the extra food, and ate lunch with me even though he seemed embarrassed. Years later, I received a letter from Tom and it was full of thanks. He became a doctor and now travels to poor hospitals around the world to help those in need.
