Madison Checketts from the US loves going to the beach very much. However, one summer day, when she visited her favorite beach, she noticed a lot of plastic (塑料的) water bottles on the beach.
Madison knew plastic water bottles were bad for the beach, so she made the Eco-Hero, a kind of water bottle that people could eat. This helped her become one of the 30 finalists (决赛选手) in the 2022 Broadcom Masters Competition1, an important competition for middle school students in the US.
Madison tried many times to get the Eco-Hero strong enough so it wouldn’t break easily. “ ★ I saw that when she went through the process,” says Madison’s mother. “She succeeded because she kept trying new things. And if it didn’t work, she would search for something else and then try it again.”
As Madison thinks about the future of the Eco-Hero, she says she wants to improve the water bottle.
