English around the world教学设计
一、本课时主要分为三部分:
1、Pre-reading (读前准备)
“读前准备”部分是Reading的前奏,此部分设计了两个图片,让学生复习回顾“电梯”“公寓”在英式和美式英语的不同表达,从而了解语言的多元化。
2、Reading (阅读)
“阅读”部分分为快速和仔细阅读。快速阅读让学生理清本文的发展顺序,并找出其主题句。之后逐段阅读,挖掘其中的细节信息。三四段将阅读与听力加以结合,提高对语言的整体把握,在细节掌握的基础上,再对文章大意加以提炼概括。最后,分析其中两个重点句子,限时背诵,使学生将方法与知识的学习加以结合。
3、Post-reading(读后)
“读后”部分共设计了两类题型:第一部分为角色扮演是,一个半开放题目,鼓励学生把课堂内容与现实生活相结合。第二部分是语法填空,帮助学生梳理文章,掌握文章主要细节,概括中心思想,实为文章的一个纲要。
三部分均以提高学生阅读能力为主,所以将此三部分有科学地整合成一节阅读课。
二、教学重点
1、发展学生的阅读能力,尤其是归纳总结,猜词和查读的能力。
2、使学生意识到英语学习的重要性的同时,从而不断加强对英语语言的学习。
3、使学生通过交际性任务和合作的机会,培养他们用英语交流的能力。
三、教学难点
1、分析句子成分,并学会定语从句与后置定语的转换。
2、与同伴一起讨论并完成判断正误、角色扮演部分。
四、教学方法
1、情景交际法。课堂教学以情景交际教学法为主,尽量给学生足够的听、说、读的机会,联系课文实际,创设情景,引入讨论主题,让学生在交际中学英语。
2、任务型语言教学法。在本课教学中,依据课程的总体目标并结合教学内容,创造性地设计贴近学生实际的任务活动,吸引和组织他们积极参与,使学生通过思考、讨论、交流和合作等方式,在一种自然、真实或模拟真实的情境中体会语言、掌握语言的应用。
3、启发式教学法。给与启示参考,配合小组讨论交流,采用启发式教学启发学生主动学习。
五、教学过程
1、Lead-in:首先此部分设计了两个图片,让学生复习回顾“电梯”“公寓”在英式和美式英语的不同表达,从而使学生在了解英式和美式英语现有情况的基础上,引出问题“There are more than one kind of English in the world. Do you ever think how it forms?”在学生思索时,引出课题“The road to modern English” will tell us the answer,激发学生的兴趣和欲望.
2、Reading:
任务1:让学生带着问题阅读课文(scanning)。有目的性阅读是阅读训练一种技巧,并且提醒学生不用太多花大多注意力在地名和新单词上面,集中精力找出所给问题的答案。【教师不要袖手旁观,可以给学生必要的引导和帮助,发展学生的自主学习能力,真正的成为学习的主体】快速阅读部分限时5分钟,完成Task1文章发展顺序和Task2找每段的主题句,之后逐段阅读。
任务2:根据课文内容,判断句子对与错,并改错。【此设计是为了检查学生是否理解第一、二段重点细节,小组讨论旨在培养学生的合作】
(1) English had the most speakers in the 17th century.
(2)At the end of the 16th century, nearly all the people speaking English lived in England.
(3) People can’t understand each other if they don’t speak the same kind of English.
(4) Flat and apartment have the same meaning .
任务3:听录音,填空【将课文第三、四段阅读与听力加以结合,提高学生对语言的整体把握,配以世界地图,使英语随着时间、地点的变化更为明显。最后提醒学生要注意衔接词的用法】

任务4:根据第五段内容,完成以下两题【为下部分对话做铺垫】
(1)Why do Indian people speak English fluently?
(2)Will Chinese English become one of the world Englishes?
任务5:总结文章中心大意【这活动帮助学生梳理文章,概括中心思想,提示学生参考前部分每段的主题句。】

任务6:句子分析理解【分析句子,巩固所学定语从句与后置定语的转换,加强对课文的理解;1分钟速记,提高学生分析记忆的能力,克服句子背诵的惧怕。】

3、Post-reading(Group-work):
任务1:角色扮演【给学生五分钟的时间分组讨论,然后让两组上台表演。教师在布置任务后,应监控各小组的活动,适当的时候可以参与到学生的活动中去。在活动中,教师多用评价性语言:Marvelous /Excellent /Fantastic /Well done/Great…】
