教案
1教学目标
1．能够通过听、说，学习与愚人节和其他过去事件相关的词汇。
2．能够初步读懂用过去完成时和时间状语从句写成的关于愚人节的短文。
2学情分析
1.两级分化严重，不及格人数多，低分人数也不少，后进生学习积极性很差，缺乏兴趣、自信心和学习动力，在课堂上不积极参与，缺少主动发言的热情。
2.缺乏良好的学习习惯，没有养成良好的听说读写能力，有的同学基本从来不读不说，阅读能力差，对阅读题没有耐力去读，缺少综合解决问题的能力。
3.学生的训练量不够，不花时间去解决英语学习的问题，班级没有多媒体教学设备。
3重点难点
1．读懂用过去完成时和时间状语从句写成的关于愚人节的短文。
2．进行适当的语言积累。

Greeting!

Let the students recite the new words
Let the students recite the phrases and make some sentences.

Read the instructions to the students.
Remember to read the sentence in the brackets.
Point to the chart with the three headings Nouns, Verbs and Adjectives.
Read the words in the brackets to the students and help the students to understand the meanings of nouns, verbs and adjectives.
Get a student to read the sample answer to the class before they start say, Fool call also be a verb.
Ask the students to complete the chart on their own.
StepⅣ:To divide the Ss into some groups and make a short story
Ask some Ss to read the story.

Say something about April Full’s Day to the students
T: Look at the pictures in 1c on page 93. What can you see in the pictures
S1: I can see the three boys. But I don’t know what they are doing.
T: They are Dave, Nick and Joe. They are talking about April fool’s Day. Can you say something about April fool’s Day
S2: April Fool’s Day is on April 1.
S3: On the day, people fool each other for fun. If you are fooled, then you are an “April fool”.
T: Good, thank you. That is western festival. Now let’s to the conversation in 1c and writer each person’s name under his picture.
Play the tape. And after the Ss write down the names, check the answer.
T: Now, look at the phrases in the box from 1d. we will listen to the tape again and you should tell who says each of the phrases Write “D” for Dave, “N” for Nick and “J” for Joe. Are you clear
Play the tape again. Check the answers after the Ss finish the task.

April Fool’s Day (2b)
Help Ss understand 2b, and find the main idea of each paragraph then check answer.
Teach language points.
take place 发生、举行、举办，指非偶然性事件的“发生”。
Happen发生、碰巧，一般用于偶然或突发性事件。Sb happened(s) to do sth.碰巧做某事。
eg: The meeting will take place soon.会议即将举行。
I happened to see him on my way home.在回家的路上我碰巧看见了他。
（2）play a trick on sb.捉弄某人，恶作剧。相当于play tricks on sb.
Don’t play trick on me, I want to know the truth.别骗我了，我想知道真相。
play a joke on sb.跟某人开玩笑，取笑某人。相当于play jokes on sb.
eg: He likes to play a joke on his friends.他喜欢开朋友的玩笑。
The boy played a joke on our math teacher.那个男孩子和我们的数学老师开了一个玩笑。
（3）as…as sb can/could 相当于as…as possible尽可能……
as…as中间可以用adj/adv的原级或被many/much/few/little修饰的名词。
eg: We must get as much knowledge as we can. 我们必须尽可能多地学习知识。
I’d like to see you, as soon as possible/as soon as I can.我想要尽快见你。
The man ran home as fast as he could.=That man ran home as fast as possible.那个人尽可能快地跑回家。
Do it as soon as you can.=Do it as soon as possible.尽快做这件事。
（4）end up doing sth.结果是（做）……，以（做）……而告终。
end up with.结束于……，以……而告终
eg:People want to do better, but they end up doing worse.人们想要做得更好，结果他们做得更坏。
Now we’ll lend up with some fruit.现在我们最后吃一点水果。
（5）one of the +adj最高级+名词复数，“最……之一”
eg:The Great Wall is one of the longest walls over the world.长城是世界上最长的城墙之一。
Huang Riser is one of the longest rivers in China.黄河是中国最长的河流之一。
注：one of …在句中作主语时，其中心词为one，其后的谓语动词要用第三人称单数形式，名词为复数。
eg: One of my pen friends in Beijing is going to my city next month.我北京的一位笔友下个月将要来我的城市。
