第一节
阅读理解(共10小题;每小题2分,满分20分)
阅读下列四篇短文,从每小题后所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该选项涂黑。

LONDON(Reuters)--Organic
fruit,
delivered
right
to
the
doorstep.
That
is
what
Gabriel
Gold
prefers,
and
he
is
willing
to
pay
for
it.
If
this
is
not
possible,
the
26-year-old
computer
technician
will
spend
the
extra
money
at
the
supermarket
to
buy
organic
food.
“Organic
produce
is
always
better,”--Gold
said.
“The
food
is
free
of
pesticides(农药),
and
you
are
generally
supporting
family

instead
of
large
farms.
And
more
often
than
not
it

so
it
is
more
tasty.
”Gold

one

a

into
the
organic

and
supermarkets
across
Britain

him
as
they

their

But
how
many
shoppers
really
know
what
they
are

and
why
are
they
willing

Market
research
shows
that
Gold
and
others
who
buy
organic
food
can
generally
give
clear
reasons
for
their
preferences-but
their
knowledge
of
organic
food
is
far
from
complete.
For
example,
small
amounts
of
pesticides
can
be
used
on
organic
products.
And
about
three
quarters
of
organic
food
in
Britain
is
not
local
but
imported(进口)to
meet
growing
demand.
“The
demand
for
organic
food
is
increasing
by
about
one
third
every
year,
so
it
is
a
very
fast-growing
market,”
said
Sue
Flock,
a
specialist
in
this
line
of
business.
21.
More
and
more
people
in
Britain
are
buying
organic
food
because
____
.
A.
they
are
getting
richer
B.
they
consider
the
food
free
of
pollution
C.
they
can
get
the
food
anywhere
D.
they
like
home-grown
fruit
22.
Which
of
the
following
statements
is
true
to
the
facts
about
most
organic
produce
sold
in
Britain?
A.
It
is
produced
outside
Britain.
B.
It
grows
indoors
all
year

C.
It
is
grown
on
family
farms.
D.
It
is
produced
on
large
farms.
23.
What
is
the

of
“the

in
the
text?
A.
rising

B.

quality
of

Most
people
know
that
Marie
Curie
was
the
first
woman
to
win
the
Nobel
Prize,
and
the
first
person
to
win
it
twice.
However,
few
people
know
that
she
was
also
the
mother
of
a
Nobel
Prize
winner.
Born
in
September,
1987,
Irene
Curie
was
the
first
of
the
Curies’
two
daughters.
Along
with
nine
other
children
whose
parents
were
also
famous
scholars,
Irene
studied
in
their
own
school,
and
her
mother
was
one
of
the
teachers.
She
finished
her
high
school
education
at
the
College
of
Sévigné
in
Paris.
Irene
entered
the
University
of
Paris
in
1914
to
prepare
for
a
degree
in
mathematics
and
physics.
When
World
War
I
began,
Irene
went
to
help
her
mother,
who
was
using
X-ray
facilities(设备)
to
help
save
the
lives
of
wounded
soldiers.
Irene
continued
the
work
by
developing
X-ray
facilities
in
military
hospitals
in
France
and
Belgium.
Her
services
were
recognised
in
the
form
of
a
Military’s
Medal
by
the
French
government.
In
1918,
Irene
became
her
mother’s
assistant
at
the
Curie
Institute.
In
December
1924,
Frederic
Joliot
joined
the
Institute,
and
Irene
taught
him
the
techniques
required
for
his
work.
They
soon
fell
in
love
and
were
married
in
1926.
Their
daughter
Helene
was
born
in
1927
and
their
son
Pierre
five
years
later.
Like
her
mother,
Irene
combined
family
and
career.
Like
her
mother,
Irene
was
awarded
a
Nobel
Prize,
along
with
her
husband,
in
1935.
Unfortunately,
also
like
her
mother,
she
developed
leukemia
because
of
her
work
with
radioactivity(辐射能).
Irene
Joliot-Curie
died
from
leukemia
on
March
17,
1956.
24.Why
was
Irene
Curie
awarded
a
Military
Medal
A.
Because
she
received
a
degree
in
mathematics.
B.
Because
she
worked
as
a
helper
to
her
mother.
C.
Because
she
won
the
Nobel
Prize
with
Frederic.
D.
Because
she
contributed
to
saving
the
wounded.
25.Where
did
Irene
Curie
meet
her
husband
Frederic
Joliot
A.
At
a
military
hospital.
B.
At
the
University
of
Paris.

C.
In
1897.
D.
In
1926.
27.In
which
of
the
following
aspects
was
Irene
Curie
different
from
her
mother
A.
Irene
worked
with
radioactivity.
B.
Irene
combined
family
and
career.
C.
Irene
died
from
leukemia.
D.
Irene
won

Easter(复活节)
is
still
a
great
day
for
worship,
randy
in
baskets
and
running
around
the
yard
finding
eggs,
but
every
year
it
gets
quite
a
bit
worse
for
bunnies.
And
no,
not
because
the
kids
like
to
pull
their
ears.
The
culprit
is
climate
change,
and
some
researchers
found
that
rising
temperatures
arc
having
harmful
effects
on
at
least
five
species
of
rabbit
in
the
US.
Take
the
Lower
Keys
March
rabbit,
for
instance.
An
endangered
species
that
lives
in
the
Lower
Florida
Keys,
this
species
of
cottontail
is
a
great
swimmer
—
it
lives
on
the
islands!
—
but
it
is
already
severely
affected
by
development
and
now
by
rising
levels.
According
to
the
Center
for
Biological
Diversity,
an
ocean
level
rise
of
only
0.
6
meters
will
send
these
guys
jumping
to
higher
ground
and
a
0.9-meter
rise
would
wipe
out
their
habitat
(栖息地)
completely.
The
snowshoe
hare,
on
the
other
hand,
has
a
color
issue.
Most
of
these
rabbits
change
their
fur
color
from
white
in
the
wintertime
to
brown
in
the
summer,
each
designed
to
give
them
better
cover
from
predators(捕食者).
As
the
number
of
days
with
snow
decreases
all
across
the
country,
however,
more
and
more
bunnies
arc
being
left
in
white
fur
during
brown
dirt
days
of
both
fall
and
spring,
making
them
an
easier
mark
for
predators.
Researchers
know
that
the
color
change
is
controlled
by
the
number
of
hours
of
sunlight,
but
whether
the
rabbit
will
be
able
to
adapt
quick
enough
to
survive
is
a
big
question.
The
National
Wildlife
Federation
has
reported
that
hunters
have
noticed
their
numbers
are
already
markedly
down.
American
pikas
or
rock
rabbits,
a
relative
of
rabbits
and
hares,
might
be
the
firs'
of
these
species
to
go
extinct
due
to
climate
change.
About
7-8
inches
long,
pikas
live
high
in
the
cool,
damp
mountains
west
of
the
Rocky
Mountains.
As
global
temperatures
rise,
they
would
naturally
migrate
(迁徙)
to
higher
ground
—
but
they
already
occupy
the
mountaintops.
They
can't
go
any
higher.
The
National
Wildlife
Federation
reports
that
they
might
not
be
able
to
stand
the
new
temperatures
as
their
habitat
beats
up.
The
volcano
rabbit
has
the
same
problem.
These
rabbits
live
on
the
slopes
of
volcanoes
in
Mexico,
and
recent
studies
have
shown
that
the
lower
range
of
their
habitat
has
already
shifted
upward
about
700
meters,
but
there
are
not
suitable
plants
for
them
to
move
higher,
so
they
are
stuck
in
the
middle.
Scientists
are
concerned
about
their
populations.
Native
to
the
US,
pygmy
rabbits
weigh
less
than
1
pound
and
live
in
the
American
West.
They
are
believed
to
be
the
smallest
rabbits
in
the
world.
Their
habitats
have
been
destroyed
by
development.
Several
populations,
such
as
the
Columbia
Basin
pygmy,
almost
went
extinct
and
were
saved
by
zoo
breeding
programs.
Pygmy
rabbits
also
rely
on
winter
cover
by
digging
tunnels
through
the
snow
to
escape
predators,
but
lesser
snowfall
is
leaving
them
exposed.
All
of
this
gives
new
meaning
to
dressing
up
in
a
giant
bunny
costume
this
Easter.
28.
The

mentions

the

第一节
短文改错(共10小题;每小题1分,满分10分)
Laughter
is
one
of
the
most
effective
way
to
deal
with
anything
unpleasant.
As
a
single
mother
of
two
young
girls,
my
life
is
stressful
sometimes.
I
love
my
girl,
and
there
are
times
when
it
is
difficult
to
satisfy
the
demands
of
a
child
and
a
full-time
student.
Although
telling
a
couple
of
jokes
can't
make
them
to
disappear,
turning
chores
into
games
certainly
helped.
Getting
up
in
the
mornings
and
getting
ready
for
school
are
much
more
enjoyable
when
there
is
hearty
laughter.
Laughter
is
the
best
medicine.
Last
summer
the
close
family
member
was
diagnosed
with
cancer.
The
doctor
told
him
that
he
only
had
a
couple
of
months
to
live.
But
he
lived
every
day
to
the
fullest,
laughed
and
having
fun.
The
doctor
said
it
was
her
appositive
attitude
that
kept
him
living
so
long.
Because
of
that
he
had
much
more
days
than
the
doctor
originally
foretold.
That
Robert
Frost
said,
"If
we
couldn't
laugh,
we
would
all
go
stupid.
Laughter
may
not
make
all
the
problems
disappear,
but
laughter
softens
the
blows
that
could
easy
bring
us
down."
