重点剖析

“lt be+形容词+for sb.+to dosth. ”是固定结构,其中it是形式主语,真正的主语是后面的动词不定式。
It's necessary for students to eat vegetables every day. 对学生来说每天吃蔬菜是有必要的。
It's very impolite to shout at others,对别人大吼大叫是不礼貌的。
pick up意为“捡起;拾起;拎起”。
He saw a watch on the floor and picked it up. 他看到地板上有一块手表并把它捡了起来。

pick sb. /sth.up 还意为“用车接某人或某物”。
I will pick you up. 我会开车去接你。
【注意】pick up的宾语如果是代词,只能放在中间。
A small number of pet dogs even bite people. 少数狗甚至咬人。
a number of. . . 意为“一些;若干”,后面接可数名词复数,谓语动词用复数。
number 前面可以加形容词large或 small 表示数量的大、小。
a large number of. . . 意为“许多······";a small number of. . . 意为“少数······”。
A number of children are swimming in the pool. 许多孩子在游泳池里游泳。
【注意】
the number of. . . 意为“······的数量”,后面接可数名词复数,但是作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式。
The number of the students in our school is over 2, 000.我们学校的学生数量超过了两千。
They have no choice but to keep their dogs in small spaces. 他们别无选择,只能把狗养在狭小的地方。
“no+名词+but to do sth. ”意为“除······之外没有别的···. ··".
He has no choice but to stay at home.他除了待在家里没有别的选择。

not. . .but. . . 不是·····而是······”,连接主语时,谓语动词要与but后面的主语保持一致,即所谓的就近原则。

beg sth.of/from sb. 或 beg sb.(for sth. )而不能说成beg sb.sth. 或beg sth.for sb. .
(2) offer
v. 意为“(主动)提出;提供”。
常用的短语有:offer sb.sth. =offer sth.to sb. 给某人提供某物
offer to do sth. (主动)提出做某事

He offered to help his mother carry the box. 他提出要帮助他妈妈提着箱子。
shout at sb.意为“向某人大吼大叫”;
shout to sb. 意为“大声地喊某人”。
