1.All too often, great words end up being turned into cinematic “turkeys”.
2.Movies of course need impressive images, so why has Alice in Wonderland only resulted in movies best described as “interesting”?
3.This is something that even the highly successful Harry Potter movies can't escape from, with fans of the books disappointed not to see some of their favourite characters in the movie versions.
4.Perhaps, one day, readers of F.Scott Fitzgerald's most admired work will find themselves glued to their screens by episodes of The Great Gatsby.
①Arriving at the top of the hill, we were faced by___________________________.
②The publication of Great Expectations, __________________________, strengthened Dickens' status as a leading novelist.
③______________________, people of all ages walk along the pavement with eyes and hands ____________________________, quite unaware of what is going on around them.
1.If so, why has one of the earliest and greatest works in Western storytelling, Homer's The Odyssey, never had an equally great movie based on it
2.One of the key reasons behind this is that while a book usually takes a few days to read, a movie typically lasts under two hours.
3.This is something that even the highly successful Harry Potter movies can't escape from, with fans of the books disappointed not to see some of their favourite characters in the movie versions.
赏析:with fans of the books disappointed ... versions为with复合结构,在句中作结果状语; not to see ... versions为不定式短语作原因状语,表示disappointed的原因。
I wonder if you could allow us to pair up freely and you could make adjustments ____________.
Tom is outgoing and very confident __________________________________.
Because some forests have been damaged, some animals and plants are facing the danger of dying out.
→______________________________, some animals and plants are facing the danger of dying out.(with复合结构)
Movies also disappoint us when things don't look the way we imagined them in the books. Take, for example, the epic movie Troy, which is in part based on Homer's The Iliad and was met with mixed reviews from the audience.
If we grow up eating certain foods in our family, then those foods tend to be linked with positive emotions. ________________________________________________________________ and its flavour becomes tied up with the feeling of being taken care of.

A
During our childhood, we had cultural shows at school where singing, dancing, dramas and speeches were performed by the school students.Among many such programs that took place in the school, one drama actually made me laugh a lot.
It was a drama called Cinderella that actually turned out to be very comical. The person who directed that drama seemed to mainly train the students to memorize the dialogues which were well performed by them.
But what did the performers wear? While Cinderella was a cute little girl, she did not wear anything beautiful at the ball. She wore house slippers (拖鞋), and one of her slippers couldn't come off her foot when she was running away after midnight from the ball. She tried many times to take it off and finally it dropped and she ran away from the stage.
That missing slipper was found by a prince, who was actually a girl, dressed up as a boy but not looking like a boy.She held it up.Feeling a deep sense of shame, she acted her part showing it to the audience.More mistakes in the drama were that Cinderella's stepsisters were poorly dressed too at the ball and neither her stepsisters nor their mom looked like bad guys.
In the end, a fairy tale drama turned out to be a funny play and everyone had hearty laughs.Since it could give so much fun to the audience, it was not altogether a failure. And the audience laughed loudly as the drama ended, giving performers encouragement.
Cultural programs like this are needed for school students.Students don't need any special skills and the programs don't have to be fully perfect. They need to be organized in schools so that students can take part, share laughs and free their minds.

Writing a film analysis essay is an assignment that is less likely to terrorize those who fear the idea of writing an essay, because it allows them to write about something most people enjoy.
9 Then watch it again. Take notes during the first viewing and, if you are analyzing a movie that is available on DVD, be ready with your remote control to pause and rewind (倒带).
Critically engage the movie so that you can effectively produce a strong essay. 10 Ideas for essays taking this route could include an analysis of how the film is photographed, how the movie relates a historical event in a dramatic way without compromising the facts or how a single sequence within the film relates to larger cinematic concepts, like overlapping (重叠) dialogue or the use of dramatic irony.
11 Include the name of another technician on the film if your analysis will be focusing on that aspect. Write your film analysis with the movie at hand if possible.
Provide a brief overview of the story, but avoid the temptation to pad your word count by writing what amounts to a synopsis(outline) of the story rather than analysis. 12
Familiarize yourself with technical languages related to the art of film making. Write about subjective camera work if the analysis is dealing with a part of the movie shot from the point of view of one of the characters. 13
A.Watch the movie carefully.
B.Write about the emotional tone of the film.
C.Introduce the film and its major participants.
D.Rely on your memory to write your film analysis.
E.Reveal plots if they relate directly to your analysis.
F.Focus on a single thematic concept related to the film.
G.Properly using film making terms will strengthen your essay.
9.选A 根据下文“Then watch it again.”
