如课文第一封信,根据文章首句“I'm in a total mess here — hope you can help me out!”
1.I'm crazy about basketball, and pretty good at it too, which is probably why I was so mad when we lost our last match.
2.Embarrassed and ashamed, I can't concentrate on anything.
3.Treated this way, you're sure to feel hurt — we should always be able to trust those closest to us,and it hurts even more when we find we can't.
①______________________ and playing football is his dream, which he will never give up.

③__________________ is that he never even said goodbye. We ________________ and betrayed.
Tell your friend you're angry with him for repeating what you said and making the situation worse, but that you want to move on.
He is thinking about ____________________________________________________.
We played well, but I felt the team were let down by one member, our point guard. The point guard is a key player, but it was like he wasn't even on the court! Disappointed by his behaviour, I said all this to my best friend.I
was just letting off steam really, because I was so angry, but then my friend went and told everyone else what I'd said.
①We got there early________________.
②He tried to draw attention by shouting, ____________________________________.

on the tip of one's tongue
cost an arm and a leg
kill two birds with one stone

①When he realized he had ________________, he had ________________.

Honesty is the best policy Think before you speak; Think first, speak later ,这样才能“知己知彼,百战不殆”。
Friends are gifts and treasures. important to themselves, many put friends ahead of homes, jobs, clothes and cars.
A true friendship carries a long history of experience connected. It is a treasure we should protect. Unfortunately, the better friends you are, the more probably you'll have disagreements. And the result can be what you don't want — an end to the relationship.
The good news is that most troubled friendships can be mended. First, don't let your pride be in your way. Most of us can forgive each other when differences are brought out in the open. Second, apologise when you're wrong — even if you've been wronged. Over the course of a friendship, even the best people make mistakes.Sometimes, it may be the best if the wronged person takes the lead and apologises. When you apologise, give your friend a chance to admit that he has been wrong. Third, see things from your friend's point of view. And finally, accept that friendship changes as our needs and lifestyle change.
Making friends can sometimes seem easy. The hard part is keeping the connections strong during the natural ups and downs that have an effect on all relationships. My suggestion: Consider friendship an honor and a gift, and worth treasuring and nurturing (培养).

A
Dear Mother and Dad,
My roommate, Syd, may be a problem. He's so careless. He whistles (吹口哨) real loud through this gap in his front teeth, too.Plus, he knocked over our lamp and broke it.Syd also wears a funny blue hat for good luck, but I don't think it's working.
Love,
Bryan
Dear Mom and Pop,
My roommate, Bryan, seems kind of jumpy, like our cat when you turn on the cleaner. He hung up a big poster of all the constellations (星座), so maybe he'll teach me how to find them.I'm sure we'll be best friends.Guess what Our camp got a new lamp.
Love,
Syd
Dear Mother and Dad,
Syd invites trouble like my giant magnets attract paper clips. We went for a hike, and Syd stepped on a wasps' (黄蜂) nest. The wasps were not happy. He raced down the path, and the rest of us ran the other way.Poor Syd got stung (蛰) twice on his face. Now he has huge chipmunk cheeks.Of course, he can still whistle, but I don't mind anymore.
Love,
Bryan
Dear Mom and Pop,
I plan to join the cross-country team.Today I ran half a mile in about three minutes. The wasps running after me probably helped a little.Did you know that some wasps make their nests on the ground Dad, will you help me train for cross-country when I get home?
PS: I heard Bryan whistling along with me yesterday.Last night, he showed me the Big Dipper constellation. Then we made up a new constellation and named it Wasper. We laughed our heads off.
Love,
Syd

B.To show the importance of making friends.
C.To share with their friends camp memories.
D.To invite their parents to the camping activities.

2.What do we know about the two boys
A.They knocked over a new lamp.
B.They got seriously hurt by the wasps.
C.They argued when they first met at the camp.
D.They enjoyed themselves studying constellations.

A.How much he wants to go back home.
B.How excited he is to find the wasps' nest.
C.How happy he is to whistle together with Syd.

B
Have you ever argued with a friend, and said or done something you regretted Sometimes it can be hard to put things right, especially when feelings have been hurt.Knowing how to apologise can help you become friends again and to understand why you fell out in the first place.
We argue for all kinds of reasons. You might think your football team is fantastic but your friend disagrees; or maybe your sister is being really annoying.Sometimes, especially if you're angry, things can spiral out of control and you'll say or do something you regret.Arguing and disagreeing with others occasionally is normal — we all do it — but it's important to resolve your differences afterwards so bad feelings don't get worse. This is where an apology can help.
We all make mistakes, and apologising is a way of admitting we've got something wrong and will try not to do it again.Dr.Jennifer Thomas, a psychologist and author, believes an apology needs to show the other person that we're genuinely (真诚地) sorry, we accept responsibility for our actions and we want their forgiveness.
Sometimes another person may pressure you into taking the blame when it's not your fault. If you feel this is happening, try talking about why you argued in the first place and explain how it made you feel.If you still can't agree, you could ask a parent or teacher to help you resolve the problem.
Sorry on its own might not always be enough, so try to ask the other person how they felt while you were arguing.Explain your side too, and make it clear you'll try not to repeat the same mistake again.A genuine apology isn't a magic wand (魔杖); it may take some time for someone to understand and forgive.Even after you've said sorry, you could still feel bad but you can feel good about trying to fix things and promising yourself to do better next time.
4.Why is it important to resolve differences after an argument
A.To ensure that bad feelings worsen over time.
B.To maintain relationship and prevent damage.
C.To avoid taking responsibility for one's action.
D.To establish leading power over one's friends.

根据第一段以及第二段的“Arguing and disagreeing with others occasionally is normal — we all do it — but it's important to resolve your differences afterwards so bad feelings don't get worse.”
5.What does the underlined word “spiral” mean in paragraph 2
A.Stop. B.Decrease.
C.Increase. D.Win.
根据画线词上文“Sometimes, especially if you're angry”以及后文“you'll say or do something you regret”可知,有时候,特别是当你生气的时候,事情可能会加速失控,你会说或做一些让你后悔的事情。

6.Which of the following situations can happen after a genuine apology
