Step 1. Lead-in. Enjoy the pictures of Mount Huangshan.Ss: They are in Anhui province, visiting Mount Huangshan now. Have a free talk about what they’ve known about Mount Huangshan.Sa: When I climb a mountain, I can see ... and hear the wind blowing and birds singing. ...
【设计意图】利用自由谈论等形式，组织学生进行关于黄山的谈论活动，激发学生的学习兴趣，激活学生与本课时教学内容之间的知识经验的关联。通过教师的引导，激发学生对周围环境的感知和思考，特别是关于天气对个人情绪和生活的影响，不仅有助于培养学生的情感认知能力，还能促进他们运用语言表达个人感受的能力。
Step 2. Reading.Prediction.Look through the text and make judgments on the type and main idea.Sa: Posts.Sb: Helen and Peter’s trip to Mount Huangshan.Fast reading.Read the posts by Helen and Peter and find out the place, time and feeling.Sb: Yes, they are.Sc: No, they don’t.Careful reading.Read the posts carefully and complete Helen’s and Peter’s descriptions about their trip. Read the posts again. Complete the questions with the question words in the box and then answer them.Sd: Different people see the same weather differently.Se: Weather could affect people’s mood.

Step 3. Post-reading. Show a mind map for Ss to complete. Invite several Ss to retell the posts in class. Offer evaluation standards.

Step 4. Writing. Ask some questions to lead Ss think about the influence weather has on human activities. Play a video and let Ss chant with it. Draw Ss’ attention to the picture in 2a.T: What’s the weather like T: What’s the man doing Ask Ss to complete the passage in 2a with the correct forms of the words in brackets. Guide them to make judgments first. Guide Ss to analyze the content of the passage. Provide the structure of the mind map for Ss to arrange the information. Ask Ss to draw a picture of some people experiencing a heavy storm or another type of weather. Write a description of their actions. While Ss are writing, walk around the classroom and help them if necessary. Guide Ss to polish the passage by providing the sample writing and the evaluation standards.

作业设计 必做 1.Read and recite the text in 1b.2. Retell Helen and Peter’s Mount Huangshan trip focusing on their weather-related feelings and descriptions.
选做 1.Describe some places you have visited,especially your own thoughts and feelings while travelling.2.Choose a city, collect the weather information of the city for the next three days, and make a simple weather forecast in English by using the knowledge learned.
