一、教材分析
What: 本课时主要包含包含三个小对话及语音练习。通过Fu Xing和Helen、Teng Fei和Ella以及Peter和Meimei的交流,分别表达了对朋友、父亲和老师生日的祝福。语音部分任务1主要介绍了辅音音素/h/,/r/,/l/,/m/,/n/,/ /,/w/,/j/的发音及其组合发这些音的规则,任务2主要介绍了语调的特点和意义。
Why: 通过本节课的学习让学生通过听力理解和对话模仿,能够就生日庆祝交流想法和观点,增进彼此的了解和感情。
How: 活动1a-1d是一个完整的听说任务链,其中1a让学生听月份和日期,学习和巩固月份和表达日期的序数词的读音,建立音形之间的联系,这些月份名称和日期序数词为后面对话作好词汇上的铺垫。活动1b让学生听后获取对话中提到的生日信息,考查他们获取关键信息的能力。活动1c分别对三个对话提出了一个问题,考查学生获取对话中其他细节信息的能力。活动1d是听后口语输出活动,提供了对话中会用到的目标语言“How old ... ”“When is ... ”,让学生互相询问个人信息,增进彼此的了解。需注意的是,听力对话中的日期采用的是英式英语的读法。在英式英语中,8月2日写作2nd August或2 August,即日期在前,月份在后,读作the second of August。美式英语日期的写法有所不同,如8月2日写作August 2nd或August 2,即月份在前,日期在后。教材以“小贴士”的形式解释了这一区别。
二、教学内容
1. 日期的表达方式。
2. 询问和回答年龄、生日日期、邀请朋友参加生日聚会、生日礼物的准备及庆祝生日的方式的表达。
3. 辅音音素/h/,/r/,/l/,/m/,/n/,/ /,/w/,/j/的发音及其组合发这些音的规则以及语调的特点和意义。
三、教学目标

四、教学重难点
重点:
1.学生能够掌握正确表达日期的方法,包括年、月、日的词汇和顺序。
2.学生能够用英语清楚准确地说出人们生日的具体日期。

1.学生们能够拼写和读出诸如月份和序数词之类的单词。
2.学生能够理解和区分英美日期表达的差异,并在交际中正确运用。
3.学生能够在实际交流中灵活流利地谈论生日日期,避免语法错误和表达不清。

六、教学过程
Step 1 Lead-in
1.Play Months of the Year song.
2.Show students different months one by one and ask them what month it is.
3.Show students a calendar and ask them the dates.
(The teacher writes the time expressions on the blackboard:January,February,March,April,May,June,July,August,September,October,November,December,1st,2nd,3rd,4th,11th,20th,21st,22nd, 23rd,24th,30th,31st.)
【设计意图】通过用歌曲和图片呈现月份和日期的形式导入新课,为后面的教学做铺垫。
Step 2 Work on 1a
1.Let students listen and repeat the words in 1a.
2.Let students circle the month and day of their birthdays.
3.Let students share the answers and let them learn something personal about their classmates.
(Students must answer with the sentence pattern:My birthday is on…)
【设计意图】通过1a练习,帮助学生能够准确读写12个月份的英文词汇和1-31的序数词,并为后续的听力奠定语言基础。
Step 3 Work on 1b
1.Let students listen to the conversations and match the people with their birthdays.
2.Let students share the answers and the teacher helps to correct their pronunciation if necessary.
3.The teacher summarizes the ways to express the dates.

Step 4 Work on 1c
1.Let students listen again and answer the questions.

2.Let students share the answers and the teacher helps to correct if necessary.
3.Let students read the listening scripts and find out the key sentence patterns.
T:When we want to ask about birthdays and dates,we can use the sentence patterns:
—When is your birthday?—On 22nd August.
—When is it?—At 6 o'clock this evening.
Her birthday is on 12th June.
We can sing a song for her.
(The teacher shows key sentence patterns on the blackboard.)
4.Let students to recite the key sentence patterns together.
Check the answers:
1. Helen is 15 years old.
2. Teng Fei can give his father a birthday card.
3. Peter wants everyone to sing a song for Ms Gao's birthday and he wants to play his guitar.

Step 5 Work on 1d
1.Let students work in groups and find out their group members' ages and birthdays.Then line up from the youngest to the oldest.
T:How old are the members of the group?When are their birthdays?Now work in groups and ask about their ages and birthdays.Then tell me who is the oldest and who is the youngest.
2.Let the students give a short report about their result.
(Students must share with the sentence patterns:Lucy is…years old.Her birthday is on…)

Step 6 Pronunciation
1. Work on 1
(1)Listen and conclude.
Play the pronunciation of the following words: how;house;who,let students repeat.
T: What pronunciation does these words have in common?
Ss: They all have /h/.
T: Great. They all have /h/. Now, look at these words, do you know which words can pronounce /h/.
Ss: h;wh.
Conclude the other seven words’ pronunciation in the same way.
(2)Practice
Show the pictures of /h/,/r/,/l/,/m/,/n/,/ /,/w/,/j/ and let students say out their pronunciation quickly. Teacher can divide students into two groups and the faster group won the game.
2. Work on 2
(1)Let students listen to a humorous conversation and repeat the conversation.
(2)Let students notice the intonation in each sentence and mark the intonation of the last word in each sentence.
(3)Ask one or two pairs of students to read the sentences and the teacher helps to correct their intonation if necessary.

Step 7 Homework
1.Let students research their family members' birthdays and give a report in class.
2.Do the exercises in students' workbooks.
