一、教材分析
What: 本课时主要为一篇对话篇章。对话篇章主要是Teng Fei、Peter和Emma三人商量一起加入音乐社团,互相交流各自拥有的音乐才能。
Why: 通过本课时的学习让学生学会用情态动词can表示能力的核心句型描述自己和他人具备的才能。同时,展现了朋友之间互相鼓励、互相支持。
How: 通过三人之间的交谈复习询问和回答关于个人才能的目标语言;能根据社团招募新成员的要求,综合分析选择社团的理由,结合自身实际情况选择合适的社团。
二、教学内容
1. 询问社团和个人能力的句型。
2. 使用情态动词can阐述自己和同学的能力以及社团选择。
三、教学目标
【知识与技能】
1. 掌握以下重点单词及短语:
news,exactly,ability,paint,musical instrument,have no idea,sing well,play chess,paint well,read with feeling,start a music club,play the guitar.
2. 掌握下列句型:
①—What club do you want to join —I want to join the sports club.
②—What instruments can you play —I can play the drums.
③—She can play the violin,right —Yes,she can.
④—Can you… —Yes,I can./No,I can't.How about you
3. 能根据对话信息提取重点内容,并分类,归纳总结。
【情感、态度与价值观】
能够分析和评价他人的观点,并反思自己的选择。系统地陈述自己的观点和理由,比如为什么自己有某种能力,为什么想加入某个俱乐部。认识到社团在校园文化中的重要性,以及不同类型社团所代表的文化内涵。
四、教学重难点
重点:
1. 能够掌握描述能力和俱乐部的相关词汇和表达,如“能力”、“加入”、“音乐俱乐部”、“体育俱乐部”等。
2. 能够使用句型来谈论能力和他们想加入的俱乐部,例如“我能/不能……” “我想加入……俱乐部”。
难点:
1. 能够准确流利地用英语表达自己的能力和加入俱乐部的意愿,避免语法错误和词汇的不当使用。
2. 能够理解不同能力与社团之间的逻辑关系,并系统阐述。

Step 1 Greeting and lead-in

Step 2 Listening(2a)
1. Predicting.
Ask students look at the picture in 2a and answer the following questions.
(1)How many people are there in the picture
(2)What are they doing
【设计意图】通过看图片并回答问题,提高学生的听前预测能力,进一步提升学生的听力技巧。
2. Look through the conversation quickly.
3. Listen to the conversation and fill in the blanks.
4. Let students share the answers and the teacher corrects the answers and their pronunciation if necessary.

Step 3 Reading
1. Work on 2b.
Let students read the conversation and complete the table in 2b.

2. Work on 2c
(1)Let students listen to the conversation again and pay attention to the letters that are silent.
(2)Let students role play the conversation. Choose some students show in class and choose the best pairs according to their pronunciation, tone and fluency.

Step 4 Speaking(2d~2e)
1. Work on 2d
(1)Let students finish the task in 2d.
T:Do you have these abilities What club do you want to join Circle can or can't with your own information,and then tick the club(s) you want to join. You can add more items if you want.
(2)Ask two or three students to share their answers in class.
(Students share their answers with complete sentences.)
2. Work on 2e
Ask students to discuss the clubs they want to join in pairs using the sentence patterns in 2d&2e.

Step 5 Homework
1.Choose two of the classmates and write a short essay to introduce the clubs they want to join and explain the reasons.
2.Do the exercises in students' workbooks.
