The Leshan Giant Buddha is a statue of Maitreya(弥勒佛) in a sitting posture. The Buddha is located in Sichuan Province, facing the Min, Qingyi and Dadu rivers. In December, 1996, the Buddha was included by UNESCO on the World Heritage List.
Facing the rivers, the Buddha has a symmetrical(对称的) posture and looks which have been beautifully captured in its solemn(庄严的) stillness. The statue was begun in the year 713 in the Tang Dynasty, and finished in the year 803. The Buddha is 71 meters high. And its 8.5-meter-wide instep(脚背) is big enough for one hundred people to sit on and the 24-meter-wide shoulder is large enough to be a tennis court.
It was a monk called Hai Tong who initiated the project. His concern was for the safety of the ordinary people who earned their living around the joint of the three rivers. Tempestuous and wild waters brought about numerous boat accidents and the simple people put the disaster down to the presence of a water spirit. So Hai Tong decided to carve a giant statue beside the joint of the three rivers thinking that the Buddha would bring the water spirit under control. Besides, the fallen stones dropped during the carving would reduce the water force there.
After 20 years' begging from door to door, he finally collected enough money for the plan. When some local government officials tried to get this amount of money, Hai Tong said that they could get his eyeball but not the money raised for the Buddha. After he dug out his eyeball, these officials ran away in fear. The project was half done when long-suffering Hai Tong passed away, and two Buddhists continued the work. After a total of 90 years' hard work, the project was eventually accomplished.
Having such a long history, the Buddha was nearly destroyed by the erosion(侵蚀) of wind and rain. And with its worldwide fame, the renovation of the Buddha has received extensive attention both at home and abroad. Then in 1962 the Chinese government began the repair work under the instructions of experts. And at present, the maintenance work is still in progress.

So if you're struggling to think of your next destination, then look no further. Don't waste time debating where to go, but let your blood decide.

Shuikou, a village in East China's Zhejiang Province, is home to 10,000 residents, and about 30 percent of them are engaged in the homestay business. The village has developed into one of the major rural tourist destinations in the Yangtze River Delta(长江三角洲) region over the years.
As cross-provincial tourism has resumed nationwide, the locals in Shuikou are back in business and looking forward to a full recovery in the local tourism industry.
The homestay owner Zheng Yunfang has been busy answering customers' calls, taking down their information, while checking the booking status of her hostelry(旅店) since early August. “Our 18 guest rooms were fully booked during the past few weeks, and we've received bookings up to November,” says Zheng, who runs Ziming Mountain Villa(别墅) in Shuikou. Most of her guests have been to her place before, and they often bring in new guests during their visits. “By the look of things, business shouldn't be a problem in the second half of the year.”
Just walking distance away from Zheng's villa, another local homestay owner, Song Chaofeng, has begun receiving visitors as well. He is starting to reap the rewards of an earlier promotion of his homestay on the short-video app, Douyin.
As an experiment, Song made a video featuring local food and landscapes earlier this year and uploaded it online after a bit of simple editing. “It was a total surprise that several thousand people watched it the next day,” says Song.
Tourist Qi Jia, from Shanghai, recently visited Song's place with her family after flipping through Song's Douyin account. “My child loves playing table tennis here, and my parents love the distinctive rural-style breakfast, with fresh and nutritious food that is picked right from the field. It feels right to come here,” she says.

It was summer, and my dad wanted to treat me to a vacation like never before. He decided to take me on a trip to the Wild West.
We took a plane to Albuquerque, a big city in the state of New Mexico. We reached Albuquerque in the late afternoon. Uncle Paul, my dad's friend, picked us up from the airport and drove us up to his farm in Pecos.
His wife Tina cooked us a delicious dinner and we got to know his sons Ryan and Kyle. My dad and I spent the night in the guest room of the farm house listening to the frogs and water rolling down the river nearby. Very early in the morning, Uncle Paul woke us up to have breakfast. “The day starts at dawn on my farm,” he said. After breakfast, I went to help Aunt Tina feed the chickens, while my dad went with Uncle Paul to take the sheep out to graze(吃草). I was impressed to see my dad and Uncle Paul riding horses. They looked really cool.
In the afternoon, I asked Uncle Paul if I could take a horse ride, and he said yes, as long as my dad went with me. I wasn't going to take a horse ride by myself anyway. So, my dad and I put on our new cowboy hats, got on our horses, and headed slowly towards the mountains. “Don't be late for supper,” Uncle Paul cried, “and keep to the track so that you don't get lost!” “OK!” my dad cried back. After a while Uncle Paul and his farm house were out of sight. It was so peaceful and quiet and the colors of the brown rocks, the deep green pine trees, and the late afternoon sun mixed to create a magic scene. It looked like a beautiful woven(编织的) blanket spread out upon the ground just for us.
注意:续写词数应为150个左右。
Suddenly a little rabbit jumped out in front of my horse.
We had no idea where we were and it got dark.

第四部分 写作
第一节
One possible version:
The Place I Desire to Visit
Among a great deal of wonderful scenery, Chengdu is the very place that I desire to visit. My reasons are as follows.
Above all, Chengdu is famous for its slow lifestyle, and people sitting in the yard and playing mahjong together can be seen here and there. So it's a great way to release ourselves from the rapidly changing world. Besides, the food there is worth a try such as spicy rabbit heads and Dandan noodles, which are very popular specialties. Most importantly, the giant panda that is regarded as a national treasure lives in Chengdu. People can watch pandas eating bamboos and having fun in the zoo.
I really hope to visit Chengdu one day and enjoy myself there!
第二节
One possible version:
Suddenly a little rabbit jumped out in front of my horse. Its unexpected appearance frightened my horse, which made it run wildly. I tried my best to control it, but in vain. Frightened as I was, I tried to keep my balance to prevent myself from falling off. Fortunately, minutes later, the horse stopped before a river, out of breath, and so did I. At that moment, my dad also came up. Seeing I was OK, he was quite relieved. But it was clear that we got lost.
We had no idea where we were and it got dark.We didn't know where the farm house was. What we could do was go back along the previous tracks slowly. But it was really difficult for us in such a dark situation. Just as we were at the point of desperation, we heard a faint voice from the distance. “It must be Uncle Paul,” I said. So we cried back with excitement. Finally, Uncle Paul safely brought us back home. What an amazing ride!
