Understanding your personality type can help you make better career choices. There are several well-known personality tests that can provide insights into your strengths and preferences. One of the most popular is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), which categorizes people into different personality types based on four pairs of traits:
The Four Trait Pairs:
Introversion (I) - Prefer quiet time vs. Extroversion (E) -Enjoy socializing ISTJ ISTP ISFJ ISFP INTJ INTP INFJ INFP
Sensing (S) - Focus on facts vs. iNtuition (N) - See big pictures
Thinking (T) - Decide with logic vs. Feeling (F) - Consider emotions ESTJ ESTP ESFJ ESFP ENFJ ENFP ENTJ ENTP
Judging (J) - Like plans vs. Perceiving (P) - Prefer flexibility
Examples:
INTJ (Introverted-iNtuitive-Thinking-Judging): Good at analyzing problems. May enjoy science or engineering jobs.
INFJ (Introverted-iNtuitive-Feeling-Judging): Deeply understanding and caring toward others. Often do very well in counseling, human resources, or nonprofit jobs.
ESTP (Extroverted-Sensing-Thinking-Perceiving): Action-focused and quick to adapt. Excel in fast-paced fields like starting a business, police work, or emergency response.
ESFP (Extroverted-Sensing-Feeling-Perceiving): Outgoing and energetic. Often do well in sales or teaching.
It’s important to note that while personality tests can provide useful guidance, they are not absolute. People can develop skills and adapt to different roles over time. However, understanding your personality type can help you identify careers that meet your natural strengths and interests. By recognizing your personality type, you can make more wise decisions about your career path and find roles that are meaningful and rewarding.
28.What is the primary function of the first paragraph
A. To list all MBTI types and their job matches.
B. To prove personality tests are always right for jobs.
C. To introduce how personality relates to career choices.
D. To teach how to take the MBTI test.
29. What can we infer about the INTJs
A. They enjoy socializing with people.
B. They prefer quick action over planning.
C. They are caring and purpose-driven.
D. They analyze data well, suiting science careers.
30. What is the author's attitude toward personality tests like MBTI
A. Strongly positive. B. Cautiously supportive.
C. Completely negative. D. Entirely critical.
31. What can be a suitable title for the text
A. The History of Personality Testing.
B. Why MBTI Is Always Right.

Over the past twenty years, more than one fifth of the world's oceans have gotten darker, according to a study from the University of Plymouth. This is called "ocean darkening." It happens when changes at the top of the ocean make it harder for sunlight to reach deeper waters.
The study, which was published in the journal Global Change Biology, found that 21% of the world's oceans became darker between 2003 and 2022. The research team thinks this darkening is due to changes in algae, changes in sea surface temperatures, and artificial light.
The study showed that more than 9% of the ocean—an area about the size of Africa—has less light by over 50 meters (164 feet). Another 2.6% of the ocean has light reduced by over 100 meters (328 feet). While the full impacts are unclear, the team notes this could harm marine life and ecosystem services.
Dr. Thomas Davies, lead researcher of the study, said: "Previous research has shown that the color of the ocean's surface has changed over the last twenty years, maybe because of changes in tiny sea creatures called plankton(浮游生物). But our study shows these changes cause widespread darkening, making less ocean available to animals dependent on sunlight and moonlight to live and reproduce.” Dr. Davies also said that ocean darkening could affect the air we breathe, the fish we eat, and how well we can fight climate change. "Our findings are truly disquieting." he said.
Prof. Tim Smyth, who works at the Plymouth Marine Laboratory, said that some sea animals that need light might come closer to the surface because of these changes. This could lead to more competition for food and other resources. He also warned ,"It could cause big changes in the whole marine ecosystem."
32. What is ocean darkening caused by according to the research
A. Increased deep-sea human activities.
B. Algae, sea temperature, and artificial light changes.
C. Expansion of marine species populations.
D. Reduced coastal artificial light.
33. Why does the author mention “an area about the size of Africa” in paragraph 3
A. To emphasize the seriousness of ocean darkening.
B. To compare ocean pollution between continents.
C. To criticize Africa's environmental policies.
D. To explain algae reproduction rates.
34. What does the underlined word “disquieting” mean in paragraph 4
A. Unclear and confusing. B. Exciting and positive.
C. Alarming and concerning. D. Predictable and expected.
35.What is a potential effect of ocean darkening according to Tim Smyth
A. A rise in deep-water oxygen levels.
B. The extinction of light-dependent species.
C. Increased competition for food resources.
D. Reduced artificial light pollution.

第四部分 任务型阅读 (共两节,满分20分)
When I was in high school, my art teacher invited me to participate in a school-wide painting competition. I was hesitant at first. Although I loved art, I had never thought of myself as a particularly talented painter. I was more of a doodler(涂鸦者), creating simple sketches in my notebook during boring classes. My family was not wealthy, and art supplies were a luxury. I often had to make do with old, worn-out brushes and faded paints.
My teacher saw potential in me that I didn’t see in myself. She said, “Your sketches have a unique charm. With a bit of effort and practice, you could create something truly remarkable.” Her words were like a spark that lighted a small flame of hope within me. Encouraged, I decided to give it a try.
I chose the theme of “The Beauty of the City at Night” for my painting. I imagined a cityscape filled with twinkling lights, bustling streets, and the shape of towering buildings against the dark sky. But as I started painting, I faced a good many challenges. The colors didn’t mix in the way I wanted them to, and my brushstrokes seemed clumsy. I was on the edge of giving up several times. However, each time I thought about my teacher’s words, I gathered the courage to keep going. I spent hours in the school art room, observing other students’ techniques, and practicing different painting methods.
When I finally finished the painting and showed it to my teacher, she smiled and said, “It’s a great start. But I know you can make it even better. Refine the details, and play with the contrast of light and shadow.” I took her advice and worked on the painting day and night. By the time I handed it in, I had poured my heart and soul into it. Whether I won or not, I felt a sense of achievement just from the process.

Last Friday, a mental health care event themed “Love myself” was held in our school, which aimed to help us students recognize self-worth and develop positive mindsets.
This event included various activities, ranging from a campus drama show about overcoming self-doubt to a "Compliment Wall" where we students wrote praises to ourselves or others. What’s more , a workshop on stress management helped us find the causes for anxiety and the ways of physical relaxation. What appealed to us most were the well-organized games , which gave us a chance to shout encouraging phrases like "I love myself!" together.

Text 10 (种植植物)
Good morning, everyone. Today I’d like to talk about a useful hobby—growing vegetables at home. Even if you live in an apartment, you can start with small pots on a balcony. First, choose easy-to-grow plants like tomatoes or lettuce. They don’t need much space. Next, get some good-quality soil and plant the seeds according to the instructions. Water them regularly, but don’t overwater them—too much water can damage the roots. Sunlight is important too; most vegetables need at least 6 hours of sunlight every day. If you don’t have a sunny spot, consider using an artificial light. Another tip: use natural fertilizers like coffee grounds to help the plants grow. Not only is it fun, but it also gives you fresh vegetables! My friend Sarah started last month, and now she has fresh lettuce every week. Why not give it a try
