Alexia suffered from a severe disease in her brain at an early age. Despite that, she refused to be easily defeated. Instead, she chose to spread light to everyone around her.
Alexia started a series of small gatherings for the kids in the neighborhood. It was her way of enhancing connections among her neighbors. For those who couldn't attend, she made funny videos and shared her artworks on the social media. She loved to use her creativity to make ordinary things beautiful.
Her mother recalled, “Somebody said Alexia was an actress and that the world was her stage. She was a representative of joy.” When it was time for her to receive another operation — she had fifteen in all — Alexia could go about it with failure. No complaining and no crying, she just got through it and got back to living. Her teachers remembered her as an inspiring girl everyone wanted to be around. With an infectious (有感染力的) smile and an incredible passion for life, she approaches each day as a new opportunity to conquer her illness and make a difference.
Sometimes it happens that a very special person comes into our life to welcome each day with gratitude, to cherish the moments of joy, to brave life's challenges, and to lighten up the lives of people around. Alexia's artworks made people happy. Her videos made people suffering hard things focus on good things and stay optimistic. Her positive mindset brought a sense of hope to those facing similar challenges.

Crosstalk, a traditional form of comic storytelling, is making a comeback in China's tea houses and theaters. Audiences can laugh the night away every Saturday at the Qianxiangyi Teahouse in Tianjin, entertained by the apprentices (徒弟) of all leading crosstalk artists of years past — for only 20 yuan.
The success in Tianjin has also caused the rejuvenation (复活) of crosstalk in Beijing and other places.
Although the art form originated in Beijing in the Qing Dynasty, Tianjin became a place where rising stars formed their styles and new pieces were tried out.The city was well-known nationwide for the quality of its crosstalk performances.
Known in Chinese as xiangsheng (literally,“face and voice”), crosstalk was the chief form of comedy throughout most of the 20th century. In the old days in Tianjin and elsewhere, temple fairs and markets were the main places for crosstalk artists to perform, although they occasionally also appeared in teahouses or theaters.
Crosstalk pieces draw on every aspect of Chinese culture, from history and folk tales to social issues of the time. Although there're hundreds of traditional pieces, they're constantly rewritten to suit the times and audience, while new works are written as well. It's one of the features that have made crosstalk a public art form throughout its history.
“Crosstalk was in the doldrums (萎靡不振) with competition from other art forms, especially TV,” said Wang Xiaochun, headmaster of the Northern Storytelling Arts School of China (NSAS). “But it has regained its status with crosstalk fans, especially young people, growing aware of its rare qualities.”
