Writing about an experience

1. 第一段作者开门见山,直接点明了这段经历的时间(Recently),地点(a “dark restaurant”)和目的(to understand the experience of being blind)等背景信息。

3. 尾段的最后一句是对全文的总结,同时照应了文章开头提到的to understand the experience of being blind。

John was crazy about playing basketball. Every day after school, he would spend much time practicing basketball skills. Sometimes, he didn't go back home until sunset, which made his mother extremely angry. One day, as he was given a chance to watch a basketball game, he dreamed about being a member of the college basketball team the next year. On the way, he was delighted secretly. He thought no one in the world was luckier than him. Suddenly, a car hit him. What a terrible experience! It seemed like a bad dream.
John woke up in a hospital room. He was frightened to death. He realized that he couldn't move both of his legs. At that time, the doctor came in. When the doctor told him that both his legs were broken and that he had to sit in the wheelchair for the time being, he knew his college basketball dream was over. He was really depressed. John followed what the doctors had told him, but it did not work entirely. When he left hospital, John was sent to a health recovery center. He never heard of this center before, but it was not far away from his house. Although he felt unwilling to go there, he had no choice but to accept the fact.
A week later, he arrived there unhappily. The first person he met was Sunny Chen, who was so kind and friendly that he warmly welcomed John to go there. Sunny's legs were badly hurt in a skating accident. He told John that he would help him recover soon. Though Sunny couldn't move his legs, he became the coach of a basketball team called the Suns. After a period of recovery training, John felt his legs were all right. So Sunny invited him to join the game. Sunny guided the team on his wheelchair. John played badly, but for the first time since the accident, he stopped feeling sorry for himself.
John was glad that his dream of being a member of the basketball team came true. Basketball was like medicine for him. He was much better and more confident than before. He practiced hard to improve himself. He was always the first to come to the court, and the last to go back home. Although it was not easy for him to play and did badly at first,he never thought about giving up hope. He was a boy with a strong mind.
注意:1.写作词数应为80左右;
Sunny saw all John did, lost in thought.

Sunny saw all John did, lost in thought. He could not help praising John for his courage and love for basketball. There were many ups and downs in life. No one knew what would happen. However, as long as there was love and hope in our heart, nothing could stop us from achieving what we desired. As a matter of fact, what we should do was hold fast to the dreams and fight to the end.

Life is full of hard choices. And what should you do when all alternatives seem equally good Here are some tips on making decisions.

Focus on the present. You can become stressed out with the big picture, trying to see how your decisions will affect your future. 2 But no one can be sure of the future until it comes. So just focus on the present and make the best possible decision now.
Accept failure. Your biggest fear probably is that your decision may lead to bad results. 3 And whatever the decision is, it will enrich your life anyway, in one way or another. So do not worry about making wrong decisions.
Seek good advice. Don't ask every one of your friends or family! 4 Don't be afraid to ask for advice, and be willing to listen. Sometimes others' advice can make a new way for you.
5 No matter how you come to your decision, claim the ownership of your decision. Take full responsibility for your choices. Even if you meet with failure, you at least know you have tried your best and gained some valuable experience.
A. Make your own decision.
B. Therefore, slow down and keep calm.
C. But we can recover and learn from bad decisions.
D. Being kind to yourself lessens your need for approval.
E. Not every problem can be solved by making a decision.
F. Only consult those who have faced similar circumstances.
G. This process is tiring as you're trying to see your future clearly.
4. 选F 根据上下文的内容可知,此处讲我们应该向谁征求建议,再结合空前的“Don't ask every one of your friends or family!”
根据下文中的“...claim the ownership of your decision. Take full responsibility for your choices.”
假定你是李华,某英语网站正在讨论对“The man who has made up his mind to win will never say ‘impossible’.
1. 你对此的理解;
2. 结合具体实例论证;
注意:1.写作词数应为80左右;

This quote highlights the importance of determination and devotion. To me, a strong willpower is what it takes to accomplish anything difficult.
This is apparently true to Tu Youyou. Faced with the challenges to find a cure for a disease, she encountered numerous obstacles. However, she made up her mind to settle the problem instead of acknowledging defeat. After endless attempts, she led her team to discover the cure and win the battle against the disease, saving hundreds of thousands of people's lives.
Overall, I'm inspired by Tu Youyou and her team. Their contribution demonstrates that in time of difficulties, we are supposed to spare no effort to win. Hopefully, we can turn “impossible” into “possible”.
Every early morning Gleen would run to school to start the fire and warm the room before his teacher and classmates arrived. Their little schoolhouse was heated by an old fashioned coal stove in winter.
One chilly morning, the teacher and students arrived, only to find the schoolhouse in flames. Gleen was dragged out of the flaming building, unconscious. The lower half of his body was badly burned and he was immediately sent to a nearby hospital. From his bed, Gleen faintly heard the doctor talking to his parents. “He could hardly survive,” the doctor said in a low voice, “for the terrible fire had destroyed the lower half of his body.”
“I don't want to die, Mum.” Gleen told his mother. He was determined to survive. To the doctor's amazement, he did survive. When the serious danger was past, he again heard the doctor and his parents speaking quietly. “He was bound to be disabled for life,” the doctor whispered, “since the fire had destroyed so much flesh in the lower part of his body. He can't walk like a normal person.”
“I will walk, Dad.” Gleen told his father. Once more, the brave boy made up his mind. He would not be disabled. But unfortunately, he had no feeling from the waist down. His thin legs just hung there, lifeless. Ultimately, he was discharged from the hospital.
Back home, Gleen's mother would squeeze and rub his little legs every day, hoping to help them recover, but it made little difference. He was either in bed or attached to a wheelchair. Yet his determination that he would walk never faded. Instead, he kept thinking about how to make himself stand up and walk again.
On a lovely summer day, as usual, Gleen was wheeled out into the yard for some fresh air, where his father had just built a fence by driving the stakes (木桩) into the grassland. Sitting in the wheelchair, Gleen was staring at the fence around the yard.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
It occurred to him that he could make the most of the fence.
__________________________________________________
After that, Gleen began to do this every day until he made a flat path beside the fence.
____________________________________________________
It occurred to him that he could make the most of the fence. He had his mother wheeled him to the fence, beside which he threw himself onto the grass from the chair. Then, using all his strength, he struggled to raise himself up by holding on to the fence. Then, stake by stake, he began moving himself forward along the fence, dragging his legs behind. “Mom, Dad, I will make it,” Gleen smiled at his parents, his eyes full of determination.
After that, Gleen began to do this every day until he made a flat path beside the fence. He kept practicing standing up and walking with the help of the fence while his mother kept squeezing and rubbing his legs every day. As time went by, with his mother's daily massages and his persistence, he did regain the ability to first stand up by himself, then to walk unsteadily, then to walk by himself, and finally to run. Gleen, the boy who was never expected to survive, walk or run, proved that nothing is impossible to a willing heart.Section Ⅵ Writing

4.选F 根据上下文的内容可知,此处讲我们应该向谁征求建议,再结合空前的“Don't ask every one of your friends or family!”
根据下文中的“...claim the ownership of your decision. Take full responsibility for your choices.”
Gleen, the boy who was never expected to survive, walk or run, proved that nothing is impossible to a willing heart.
