1.In this way, practising day in and day out helped Stephen sharpen his skills.
2.He performed beyond everyone's expectations with his accurate shooting and continuous efforts.
①If you're doing the same thing ________________________, where would the challenge be
②The rain____________________ since this morning.
1.He probably didn't realise it at the time, but it was where he learnt to be creative and flexible as a player.
2.Inspiring others to believe in themselves, Stephen Curry is living proof that what other people think of you does not have to influence what you become.
①Home is ________________________.
②__________________ advanced technology will bring much convenience to people.
1.A far cry from the bright lights and shiny courts of the National Basketball Association (NBA), it was along this road that Stephen's grandfather built a simple basket by attaching a piece of plastic to a telephone pole.
2.Despite his father's successful career, Stephen was thought by many people, including his high school teammates and coaches, to be too short, too thin and too weak to follow in his father's footsteps.
3.That's how I got here. That's how I continue to get better every single day.
①It was a comfort ________________________, __________________, beyond time.
②________________________, they see possibility. Where others see a closed door, ________________________.
1.Near the small town of Grottoes, Virginia, a narrow dirt road goes from the house of Stephen Curry's grandfather to the woods nearby.
2.The bumps and rocks that lined the road under the basket caused the ball to bounce in all directions.
①I dragged myself ________________________, my knees shaking.
②My secondary school is a bush school.________________________, with clay floors and roofs of grass.

I came to see that something quite different happens on the rock.
Like wild swimming, rock climbing involves you into the landscape. On the rock, I am fully present. Eyes pay close attention, ears are alert, and hands move across the surface. Unlike walking, where I could happily wander about absent mindedly, in climbing, attentive observation is essential.
As an arts student studying English literature, I discovered a new type of reading from outdoor climbing. Going out on to the crags (悬崖), I saw how you could learn to read the rocks and develop a vocabulary of physical movements. Good climbers knew how to map their bodies on to the stone. Watching them, I wanted to possess that skillful language.
My leap happened when I worked for the Cairngorms National Park Authority. Guiding my explorations into this strange new landscape was Nan Shepherd, a lady too. Unlike the goal directed mindset of many mountaineers, she is not concerned with peaks or personal beats. Shepherd sees the mountain as a total environment and she celebrates the Cairngorms as a place alive with plants, rocks, animals and elements. Through her generous spirit and my own wanderings, I saw that rock climbing need not be a process of testing oneself against anything. Rather, the intensity of focus could release a person into another way of being.
Spending so much time in high and stony places has changed my view on the world and our place in it. I have come into physical contact with processes that go way beyond the everyday life. Working with gravity, geology, rhythms of weather and deep time, I gain an actual relationship with the earth. This connection lies at the heart of my passion for rock climbing. I return to the rocks, because this is .

A
Budha Magar, a double above- the- knee amputee (被截肢者), is working with an all- Nepali team to attempt to conquer the world's highest mountain. Though he will be kitted out (装备) with special climbing legs, he will essentially be crawling up Mount Qomolangma using his hands.
He estimates it will take him three times longer than able- bodied climbers to reach the summit (顶峰), though he is confident he will be faster than average on the ladder sections because of his superior upper body strength. Two climbers with below- knee amputations have reached the summit before. But making the climb without knees is significantly harder. “In Nepali we say that being disabled is ‘like a burden of the earth’,” he explains. Magar hopes that he can raise awareness of just what is possible for a disabled person in the country of his birth, and hopefully inspire others further afield.
He was born in a village of Nepal, and he left there at the age of 19. In April 2021, he had an accident. Suddenly legless, he spent at least 18 months depressed before a charity offered him the chance to go skydiving. “That was a big turning point for me, especially for my confidence. And when we landed on the ground, I realized that even without legs we are able to do lots of things,” he says.
He began doing sports — golf, rock climbing, table tennis — before setting his sights on mountaineering. Before long, a childhood dream to climb Mount Qomolangma resurfaced, and he began training in earnest to make the climb in 2018.
Now living in Canterbury, Budha Magar has raised more than £200,000 towards his attempt. If he can find another £100,000 of sponsorship, he will travel to Nepal with his expedition leader Krishna Thapa.Success on the world's highest mountain can never be guaranteed, but his expedition faith illustrates his mindset: no legs, no limits.

Chris Greenbank,36,a stonemason (石匠) from Stockport, Greater Manchester, even managed to complete a half marathon carrying the youngster in a special hiking carrier.
The single father, who has suffered from anxiety in the past, has been raising money for mental health support group Project 23.The group, which helps people with anxiety and mental health problems, was set up by Chris's friend Mark Sproston.
Chris's latest race, Run North West's festive 10k in Cheshire, was his fourth race and he says, possibly their last, as the kid may be too heavy in spring. Besides, Chris had been a little worried if the weather would be too chilly for his daughter. “No matter how difficult it is, I want to get us both a festive New Year medal before it gets too cold,” He added. “We have four medals now and we have run 51km in total.”
In October Chris took just under three hours to complete the Manchester Half with his daughter on his back. The dad says his little girl rested her hands on his shoulder and kept them there for the whole duration of the run. He said, “Our bond isn't something you can even put into words. My heart is full.”
Chris, who says exercise is an important part of positive mental health, believes there should be no reason why people can't exercise because they have kids.

Budha Magar, a double above the knee amputee (被截肢者), is working with an all Nepali team to attempt to conquer the world's highest mountain. Though he will be kitted out (装备) with special climbing legs, he will essentially be crawling up Mount Qomolangma using his hands.
He estimates it will take him three times longer than able bodied climbers to reach the summit (顶峰), though he is confident he will be faster than average on the ladder sections because of his superior upper body strength. Two climbers with below knee amputations have reached the summit before.
