(1)rather than用于连接两个并列成分。当连接两个名词或代词作主语时,谓语动词应与rather than前面的名词或代词在人称和数上保持一致。
(2)rather than后接不定式时,不定式可以带to,也可不带to,但rather than位于句首时,则只能接不带to的不定式。

(2)“疑问词+ ever”既可以引导让步状语从句,又可以引导名词性从句。引导让步状语从句时,“疑问词+ ever”与“no matter+疑问词”可以互换。
“no matter+疑问词”只可以引导让步状语从句,不能引导名词性从句。
注意:whatever可以用于加强语气,相当于what on earth。
