Write an opinion essay
On the one hand ..., On the other hand ... 类似的词汇还有:for instance, such as, like, namely, that is, as, take it for example, give an example, let's say等。
①__________________, I need to switch to another job, __________________, I still like my present one.
②__________, I have a preference for studying alone because it keeps me focused, saves precious time and helps me to cultivate the ability of independent thinking.
③______________, I often read some of my favorite books in my spare time at home or in the library.

A Special Contest You Won't Want to Miss
In order to equip us with scientific creativity in this ever-changing “smarter” world, a Science and Technology Innovation Contest is on the way.
The coming contest, with the theme of “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Life”, will serve as a platform to show our talents for technological innovation.Works are welcome ranging from scientific designs to inventions facilitating our daily life with AI.If interested, please submit your work to the office of the Students' Union before December 1st.
I believe every participant will achieve something amazing.Looking forward to your participation.
Here's the truth:robots are already starting to take jobs from hourly human workers, and it's going to continue.Research from McKinsey found that 45% of current jobs can be automated. We need to stop avoiding the situation and create real solutions to help displaced (失业的) workers. And there are a number of ways displaced workers could survive. To name but a few:
Not everyone will work
A potential idea is that not everyone will work.Perhaps it will be more of a sci-fi situation where only people who want to work will work. All other tasks will be done by robots, and those who choose not to work can enjoy other activities. That extreme possibility is definitely a long way off, though it can still be considered.
AI and robots are the inevitable future. They will play a role in everyone's future jobs, whether that means they make it easier or replace it.We need to have conversations now about what to do with displaced workers so we can be prepared when the time comes.
Move them to other jobs
Instead of learning new skills, this solution encourages workers to use their existing skills in a new industry. While it's true there are often plenty of jobs available in these areas, unfortunately these important jobs often don't pay well.In large cities, working in these jobs simply wouldn't give people enough money to live without a universal basic income. However, these positions are fairly safe from being displaced by robots and can provide job security.
The technologies create new jobs for both the short and long term
New inventions could be introduced that turn everything on its head and require new skills. Some experts have predicted that soft human skills like communication, creativity and empathy (同理心) will always be needed because robots can't replicate (复制) those skills. However, new inventions could open the door to other hard skills that could be required and in high demand in the future.
Re-train displaced workers
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
Many experts think that robots can't be in place of all human jobs, so robots need to work alongside with humans.____________________
___________________________________________________________
___________________________________________________________
Even employees who aren't at risk of being displaced should expand their skills.___________________________________________________
____________________________________________________________
____________________________________________________________
Many experts think that robots can't be in place of all human jobs, so robots need to work alongside with humans. The majority of jobs that have been displaced or that are at risk of being displaced are process-driven jobs. These are positions that can easily be automated, such as manufacturing, customer service and transportation.Robots can't take the place of the jobs that require a personal or creative touch.Displaced workers could potentially get retrained to apply their skills elsewhere.A displaced customer service employee knows how to solve problems and be efficient. They could potentially reskill to build on their existing skills and work in a different area.
Even employees who aren't at risk of being displaced should expand their skills.People move between jobs more often these days, and that provides opportunities to expand their skills. The most prepared employees take advantage of online courses, community college classes and industry seminars to expand their skills and even get certifications in new areas. Many companies already provide training and reskilling for their employees.Perhaps more organizations need to follow in their footsteps.
Many leading AI researchers think that in a matter of decades, artificial intelligence will be able to do not merely some of our jobs, but all of our jobs, forever transforming life on the earth.
The reason why many people regard this as science fiction is that we've traditionally thought of intelligence as something mysterious that can only exist in biological organisms, especially humans. But such an idea is unscientific.
From my point of view as a physicist and AI researcher, intelligence is simply a certain kind of information processing performed by elementary particles (基本粒子) moving around, and there is no law of physics that says one can't build more intelligent machines than us in all ways. This suggests that we've only seen the tip of the iceberg and that there is the amazing potential to unlock the full intelligence that exists in nature and use it to help humanity.
If we get it right, the _______ is huge.Since everything we love about civilization is the product of intelligence, amplifying our own intelligence with AI has the potential to solve tomorrow's toughest problems. For example, why risk our loved ones dying in traffic accidents that self-driving cars could prevent or dying of cancers that AI might help us find cures for? Why not increase productivity through automation and use AI to accelerate our research and development of affordable sustainable (可持续的) energy?
upside
I'm optimistic that we can develop rapidly with advanced AI as long as we win the race between the growing power of our technology and the knowledge with which we manage it.But this requires giving up our outdated concept of learning from mistakes. That helped us win the race with less powerful technology. We met with fire and then invented fire extinguishers (灭火器), and we met with cars and then invented seat belts. However, it's an awful idea for more powerful technologies, such as nuclear weapons or super intelligent AI — where even a single mistake is unacceptable and we need to get things right from the first.
1.How do many people feel about leading AI researchers' predictions?
A.Worried. B.Curious.
C.Doubtful. D.Disappointed.
根据第二段中的“many people regard this as science fiction”可以推知,很多人不相信AI研究者的预言,认为那更像是科幻小说。
√
2.What does the author think of intelligence?
A.We know little about it.
B.It belongs to human beings.
C.It is too difficult to understand.
D.We have a good command of it.
根据第三段中的“we've only seen the tip of the iceberg”可知,作者认为,人类对智能的认识还只是冰山一角。
√
3.What does the underlined word “upside” in paragraph 4 probably mean?
A.Cost. B.Potential.
C.Quantity. D.Advantage.
√
4.What's important for us to win in the race between people and technology?
A.Learning from failure.
B.Increasing our intelligence.
C.Avoiding making mistakes.
D.Making accurate predictions.
根据最后一段中的“we can develop rapidly with advanced AI ...giving up our outdated concept of learning from mistakes”可知,作者认为,赢得这场比赛的关键在于抛弃“从错误中学习”的过时理念。

If we get it right, the upside is huge.Since everything we love about civilization is the product of intelligence, amplifying our own intelligence with AI has the potential to solve tomorrow's toughest problems. For example, why risk our loved ones dying in traffic accidents that self driving cars could prevent or dying of cancers that AI might help us find cures for Why not increase productivity through automation and use AI to accelerate our research and development of affordable sustainable (可持续的) energy

Many experts think that robots can't be in place of all human jobs, so robots need to work alongside with humans. The majority of jobs that have been displaced or that are at risk of being displaced are process driven jobs.
