Ⅰ.A
根据文中的“It’s no surprise that many jokes come from a male perspective in online materials, as males dominate the field of comedy.”(毫不奇怪,许多笑话在网络材料中来自男性视角,因为男性在喜剧领域占主导地位。)
根据文中的“…a good joke in real life can always adjust to the audience’s feedback, which often leads comedians to improvise(即兴创作). This, unfortunately, is beyond the current capabilities of AI.”(……
根据最后一段中的“…which, however, makes the future of AI jokes still uncertain.”(……
根据“So, can they tell jokes This question was raised when UK comedian Karen Hobbs performed in late June.”(那么,它们会讲笑话吗 这一问题是在英国喜剧演员卡伦·霍布斯于六月底表演时提出的。) Can jokes be made by AI 故选A。
B
根据文章第一段“I am a big laugher. I’ve been told that even in a room of a thousand people, you can always hear me laughing over the crowd. For me, laughter is the ultimate form of embodied joy. And by ‘embodied’, I mean that my whole body is involved when I laugh. On the inside, it’s like a bubbling fountain of joy spilling out all over the place.”(我是一个爱大笑的人。
根据文章第四段“A friend moved into a new apartment and needed some help, so I helped him. Afterwards, he was obviously so much happier and at ease. I noticed that playing even a small part in his happiness brought me great joy, and I took a moment to let this feeling of embodied joy in.”(一个朋友搬进了新公寓,需要一些帮助,所以我帮助了他。 和“When I smile, it makes me want to take a deep breath, and I notice my shoulders and belly relaxing. When I embody caring and loving, it feels great!”(当我微笑的时候,它让我想深呼吸,我注意到我的肩膀和腹部放松了。
根据文章第五段“Sadly, many of us are unaware of joy, or suspicious of it. Maybe you are afraid to open up to joy, or maybe you are so unfamiliar with what joy feels like that you ignore or resist it when it comes knocking.”(可悲的是,我们中的许多人都没有意识到快乐,或者对它持怀疑态度。
根据文章最后一段“Want more joy Don’t be afraid to look silly. Silliness helps us take things less personally. It helps us see the world the way a kid does. When we can find more joy in the small things of everyday life, we can embody happiness, rather than just pursuing it.”(想要更多的快乐 不要害怕看起来很傻。 故选A。
Ⅱ.第一节
One possible version:
How to maintain a good mood
As we all know, a good mood is very important for our work and life. To keep a good mood, we should do the following things.
First, we should have a sense of humour. Second, we should take up some good hobbies, which will broaden our horizons and add pleasure to our daily life. Third, it is very important for us to be friendly, communicate openly, and share our interests and pleasures with others as much as possible. Finally, we should keep calm and try to overcome difficulties bravely when facing them.
In a word, if we can follow the suggestions above, I am sure we can keep up a good state of mind all the time.

One possible version:
Her words reminded me that I could do something. I realized that my bead animals could bring joy not just to the nurses but also to the other children in the hospital(宾语从句). Inspired(过去分词作状语), I decided to create bead animals for everyone in the ward. I spent hours each day crafting(现在分词作宾补) dynamic, colourful creatures, from playful frogs to elegant swans, pouring my heart into each piece(现在分词短语作状语). My mum helped by gathering supplies and even called on the staff to spread the word about my little project.
The day came for me to give gifts to the children in the wards. Armed with a basket full of bead animals(过去分词短语作状语), I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as I entered the playroom(时间状语从句). The children looked up, with their faces lighting up with curiosity(with复合结构). I introduced myself and shared my story about making the keychains. One by one, I handed each child a bead animal, watching their eyes widen in delight(现在分词短语作状语). Laughter filled the room as they admired their new treasures(时间状语从句). In that moment, I realized that my illness had given me the opportunity to spread happiness(宾语从句;不定式作后置定语), turning my difficult experience into something beautiful(现在分词短语作状语).Period Four Writing

It seems you can ask artificial intelligence (AI) programs anything, and they’ll give you an answer back. So, can they tell jokes This question was raised when UK comedian Karen Hobbs performed in late June. Instead of the usual jokes she created, Hobbs delivered jokes written by ChatGPT. The process made her nervous.
Hobbs said that when she asked ChatGPT for a joke, what it provided was a man joking about being impatient with his shopping-obsessed (痴迷于购物的) girlfriend. Even when she asked to switch to the woman’s perspective, the joke still featured a shopping-obsessed girlfriend, just told from the first-person perspective.
It’s no surprise that many jokes come from a male perspective in online materials, as males dominate the field of comedy. The BBC commented that AI storytelling can only reproduce information that already exists in some form, although it can produce some never-before-seen combinations of ideas.
“One way that AI can tell jokes is to do what any 5-year-old does—repeat a successful joke they have heard or try to make an obvious variation of it,” said Les Carr, a professor of Web science.
Nonetheless, a good joke in real life can always adjust to the audience’s feedback, which often leads comedians to improvise This, unfortunately, is beyond the current capabilities of AI.
For instance, in improvisation, there is no space for premeditation (预先策划); the comedian must rely only on their instinctive (直觉的) reaction to the audience.
“A well-done stand-up bit can lead the audience through a funny story all the way to a hilarious punchline (令人捧腹的妙语),” Michael Ryan, a student researching AI’s impact on comedy, explained to the BBC.“The whole time the comedian knew exactly where he or she was going with the joke and brought the audience there.”
Research is already ongoing with the goal of giving AI a greater understanding of the world around it, which, however, makes the future of AI jokes still uncertain.
( )1.Why do many jokes come from a male perspective in online materials
A.AI prefers male perspectives.
B.Women don’t like telling jokes.
C.Men control the comedy industry.
D.Men are more humorous than women.
( )2.What is AI unable to do with jokes
A.Repeat jokes. B.Adapt jokes.
C.Improvise jokes. D.Combine jokes.
( )3.What is the author’s attitude towards the future of AI-created jokes
A.Hopeful. B.Doubtful.
C.Uncaring. D.Disapproving.
( )4.What is a suitable title for the passage
A.Can jokes be made by AI
B.Can AI jokes be genuinely funny
C.Can AI change the world
D.Can audiences prefer jokes created by comedians
I am a big laugher. I’ve been told that even in a room of a thousand people, you can always hear me laughing over the crowd. For me, laughter is the ultimate form of embodied joy. And by “embodied”, I mean that my whole body is involved when I laugh. On the inside, it’s like a bubbling fountain of joy spilling out all over the place.
But what is joy, anyway
Life can be terrible, but if you decide to follow the sound of the joy-fountain, you will find joy showing up in all kinds of places: pets playfully bouncing around, kindness, or even in nothingness.
How can joy be found A friend moved into a new apartment and needed some help, so I helped him. Afterwards, he was obviously so much happier and at ease. I noticed that playing even a small part in his happiness brought me great joy, and I took a moment to let this feeling of embodied joy in. We can practise letting joy in by noticing how it feels to smile. Where does your body light up when you smile When I smile, it makes me want to take a deep breath, and I notice my shoulders and belly relaxing. When I embody caring and loving, it feels great!
Sadly, many of us are unaware of joy, or suspicious of it. Maybe you are afraid to open up to joy, or maybe you are so unfamiliar with what joy feels like that you ignore or resist it when it comes knocking. No one, other than you, owns your happiness, but you might unknowingly block feelings or experiences that help you embody joy. The fact is that when you can’t embody joy, you miss out on one of life’s essential vitamins.
Want more joy Don’t be afraid to look silly. Silliness helps us take things less personally. It helps us see the world the way a kid does. When we can find more joy in the small things of everyday life, we can embody happiness, rather than just pursuing it.
( )5.How is the topic of joy introduced at the beginning of the passage
A.By highlighting a joyful experience.
B.By stressing the importance of laughing.
C.By presenting an ultimate form of satisfaction.
D.By sharing the author’s understanding of joy.
( )6.What might be the author’s advice on finding joy
A.Taking a deep breath.
B.Smiling to your friends.
C.Doing small acts of kindness.
D.Reflecting on nothingness.
( )7.What might be the reason for many of us missing joy
A.That many of us refuse it on purpose.
B.That many of us are insensitive to joy.
C.That many of us lack life’s essential vitamins.
D.That many of us are likely to take joy for granted.
( )8.What is the best title of the text
A.Life is the creation of joy
B.A happy man always laughs last
C.People are always unaware of joy
D.Happy people are happy in childhood

How to maintain a good mood

I fell seriously ill when I was twelve and I was in hospital for the better part of the summer. For the first week or so, I was so uncomfortable that I did nothing but sleep. As I started feeling better, I wanted to keep engaged. I read too quickly for my mum to keep me in books and wasn’t really interested in television either, so my mum was desperate.
One day, she accidentally hit on one of the most popular trends of the time: making bead(珠子)animals. She bought me a lot of silk thread, a big bag of beads in every colour of the rainbow, and a book that taught me how to make all different types of animals. I got the hang of it quickly, and enjoyed making bead animals, such as snakes, rabbits and turtles.
One morning, one of the nurses came in, saw me working on a beaded keychain, and praised it warmly as cute. She was one of my favourite nurses, so I offered her one, and she quickly attached the keychain to her ID badge. An elder nurse asked for one, so I gave her one, too, and then my doctor…and then it seemed like everyone wanted one! I started spending most of my time making them. My mother felt bad that it was turning from a hobby into a burden, but I truly enjoyed it and wanted to make something for everybody who’d been so nice to me when I was sick.
The nurses proudly wore them on their badges, which not only made me smile but also made the other patients smile. Joy was brought into the wards, making us more cheerful. The head nurse also received such a gift and she appreciated it so much. She told me the children in other wards kept asking her where she got it.
Paragraph 1:
Her words reminded me that I could do something.

Paragraph 2:
The day came for me to give gifts to the children in the wards.

It seems you can ask artificial intelligence (AI) programs
anything, and they'll give you an answer back. So, can they tell
jokes This question was raised when UK comedian Karen Hobbs
performed in late June. Instead of the usual jokes she created,
Hobbs delivered jokes written by ChatGPT. The process made
her nervous.

Hobbs said that when she asked ChatGPT for a joke, what
it provided was a man joking about being impatient with his
shopping-obsessed (痴迷于购物的) girlfriend. Even when she
asked to switch to the woman's perspective, the joke still
featured a shopping-obsessed girlfriend, just told from the first-
person perspective.
It's no surprise that many jokes come from a male
perspective in online materials, as males dominate the field of
comedy. The BBC commented that AI storytelling can only

reproduce information that already exists in some form, although
it can produce some never-before-seen combinations of ideas.
“One way that AI can tell jokes is to do what any 5-year-
old does—repeat a successful joke they have heard or try to
make an obvious variation of it,” said Les Carr, a professor of
Web science.
Nonetheless, a good joke in real life can always adjust to
the audience's feedback, which often leads comedians to
This, unfortunately, is beyond the current
capabilities of AI.

For instance, in improvisation, there is no space for
premeditation (预先策划); the comedian must rely only on their
instinctive (直觉的) reaction to the audience.
“A well-done stand-up bit can lead the audience through a
funny story all the way to a hilarious punchline
Michael Ryan, a student researching AI's impact on comedy,
explained to the BBC.“The whole time the comedian knew
exactly where he or she was going with the joke and brought
the audience there.”

I am a big laugher. I've been told that even in a room of
a thousand people, you can always hear me laughing over the
crowd. For me, laughter is the ultimate form of embodied joy.
And by “embodied”, I mean that my whole body is involved
when I laugh. On the inside, it's like a bubbling fountain of joy
spilling out all over the place.

Maintain a good
mood”。
1.保持好心情的理由;
注意:1. 写作词数应为80个左右;
How to maintain a good mood
_______________________________________________________________________
One possible version:
How to maintain a good mood
As we all know, a good mood is very important for our
work and life. To keep a good mood, we should do the
following things.
First, we should have a sense of humour. Second, we
should take up some good hobbies, which will broaden our
horizons and add pleasure to our daily life. Third, it is very
important for us to be friendly, communicate openly, and share
our interests and pleasures with others as much as possible.
Finally, we should keep calm and try to overcome difficulties
bravely when facing them.
In a word, if we can follow the suggestions above, I am
sure we can keep up a good state of mind all the time.
I fell seriously ill when I was twelve and I was in hospital
for the better part of the summer. For the first week or so, I
was so uncomfortable that I did nothing but sleep. As I started
feeling better, I wanted to keep engaged. I read too quickly for
my mum to keep me in books and wasn't really interested in
television either, so my mum was desperate.
One day, she accidentally hit on one of the most popular
trends of the time: making bead(珠子)animals. She bought me a
lot of silk thread, a big bag of beads in every colour of the
rainbow, and a book that taught me how to make all different
types of animals. I got the hang of it quickly, and enjoyed
making bead animals, such as snakes, rabbits and turtles.
One morning, one of the nurses came in, saw me working
on a beaded keychain, and praised it warmly as cute. She was
one of my favourite nurses, so I offered her one, and she
quickly attached the keychain to her ID badge. An elder nurse
asked for one, so I gave her one, too, and then my doctor…and
then it seemed like everyone wanted one! I started spending
most of my time making them. My mother felt bad that it was
turning from a hobby into a burden, but I truly enjoyed it and
wanted to make something for everybody who'd been so nice
to me when I was sick.
The nurses proudly wore them on their badges, which not
only made me smile but also made the other patients smile.
Joy was brought into the wards, making us more cheerful. The
head nurse also received such a gift and she appreciated it so
much. She told me the children in other wards kept asking her
where she got it.
Paragraph 1:
Her words reminded me that I could do something._______
Paragraph 2:
The day came for me to give gifts to the children in the
wards._______________________________________________________________
One possible version:
Her words reminded me that I could do something. I
realized that my bead animals could bring joy not just to
the nurses but also to the other children in the hospital
Inspired(过去分词作状语), I decided to create bead
animals for everyone in the ward. I spent hours each day
crafting(现在分词作宾补) dynamic, colourful creatures, from
playful frogs to elegant swans, pouring my heart into each
piece(现在分词短语作状语). My mum helped by gathering
supplies and even called on the staff to spread the word about
my little project.
The day came for me to give gifts to the children in the
wards. Armed with a basket full of bead animals(过去分词短语
I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as I
entered the playroom(时间状语从句). The children looked up,
with their faces lighting up with curiosity(with复合结构). I
introduced myself and shared my story about making the
keychains. One by one, I handed each child a bead animal,
watching their eyes widen in delight(现在分词短语作状语).
Laughter filled the room as they admired their new
treasures(时间状语从句). In that moment, I realized that my
illness had given me the opportunity to spread happiness
(宾语从句;不定式作后置定语), turning my difficult experience
into something beautiful(现在分词短语作状语).
