第1课时 Section A (1a-Pronunciation)
一、教学目标
1.能够掌握本节课的重点词汇和短语,如“outgoing”“hard-working”“be afraid of…”等。
2.能够理解并运用“be+形容词比较级+than”的句型来比较人物的性格特征。
3.通过对话练习,培养学生的口语表达能力和语言运用能力,使学生能够在实际情境中自如地运用所学句型进行人物比较。
4.梳理发/ /和/ /音的字母及字母组合。

◆Step 1 Lead-in Show some pictures about different people to students and let students speak out some adjectives about people,and compare the people in the pictures.Introduce the concept of the comparative degree. T:—Who is taller —…—Who is thinner —… —Who has short hair —…—Who dances better —… 教师应该观察学生是否能准确使用形容词进行描述和比较,以及他们语言表达的准确性和流利性。

◆Step 2 Pre-listening Work on 1a 1.Present the words in 1a,read them aloud and explain their meanings,and let the students read after you. 2.Guide the students to match the words with their antonyms,and deepen the students' understanding and memory through asking questions and doing exercises. 教师应观察学生跟读发音及词义理解情况、匹配练习的参与度与完成情况,以及提问时的反馈表现。
设计意图:通过带读释义、匹配练习与提问,帮助学生掌握词汇及其反义词,提升词汇认知与运用能力,强化理解记忆。
◆Step 3 While-listening Work on 1b T:Peter and Chen Jie are both at the music club and there will be a school festival.They are talking about it. 1.First listening for 1b Play the recording of 1b for the first time.Instruct students to listen carefully and get a general idea of the conversation between Peter and Chen Jie at the music club. 2.Second listening for 1b Play the recording of 1b again.This time,students should focus on ticking the locations where the conversations take place.After that,have students share their answers in pairs first and then have the whole class check the answers. T:What's the problem with Chen Jie How do they solve the problem 3.Work on 1c T:Peter and Chen Jie played the Chinese flute together.Let's listen to the dialogue between Mrs Brown and them. Play the recording for 1c.Students listen and complete the sentences in 1c. 4.Listening for 1d (Peter and Chen Jie) Play the recording again,finish the first part of 1d.Match the correct descriptions with Peter and Chen Jie.Find out the differences between them. 5.Listening for 1d(Emma and Ella) Emma and Ella also took part in the music festival.They are twins,but they are quite different.Listen and find out the differences between them. 教师观察学生在听力任务中的参与度和反应,评估他们对听力内容的理解程度和任务完成情况。

◆Step 5 Pronunciation 1.According to the pronunciation of the words in the recording,students classify the words they hear into the classification boxes of/ /and/ /. 2.Imitate and distinguish the pronunciation rules,use gestures to master the characteristics of intonation,and then repeat after the recording and practise the dialogue. 教师观察学生的记忆速度,判断学生对发音的熟悉程度并给予及时的讲解和纠正。
