Dear Daniel,
Pleased/Delighted to know that you are interested in/show passion for the painting exhibition at the National Museum, I‘m writing to share some details about my recent visit, which featured a collection of traditional Chinese paintings.
One of the highlights was Tang Yin’s masterpiece Clearing After Snow on a Mountain Pass, immersing viewers in a Ming Dynasty winter landscape. Renowned/r na nd/(著名的) for its masterful brushwork, this artwork vividly depicts snow-covered mountains, trees, and houses with strokes so fluid and natural that the snow appears freshly fallen.
I was deeply moved by the artist‘s ability to capture nature’s serene(/s ri n/平静的) beauty. This experience has deepened my appreciation for the timeless elegance of Chinese art.
Yours,
Li Hua
Dear Daniel,
I’m thrilled to share my experience at the museum‘s painting exhibition with you!
The highlight lies in its diverse collection spanning centuries—from delicate Song Dynasty ink wash paintings to avant-garde/ v ɡɑ d/前卫的 modern artworks. What amazed me most was the interactive VR booth, where I “walked” into a famous scroll painting and witnessed its scenes come alive. There were also live demonstrations by local artists, allowing visitors to try traditional brush techniques.
This exhibition was more than just a visual feast. Standing before those masterpieces, I felt a profound connection to China’s rich cultural heritage. The intricate/ ntr k t/ 错综复杂的brushstrokes and vivid colors made history tangible/ t nd b( )l/可感知的, and I realized how art transcends time to convey emotions. I’m sure you’d be equally captivated! Let me know if you plan to visit next time—I‘d love to be your guide.
Best wishes,
Li Hua
Dear Daniel,
Great to hear about your interest in the painting exhibition! Here are the key details:
The exhibition featured rare masterpieces from famous artists like Van Gogh and Picasso. A major highlight was the interactive digital display allowing visitors to "enter" famous paintings through VR. Live art demonstrations showed traditional techniques being used today. I was truly amazed! Seeing the original brushstrokes up close gave me chills. The vivid colors and emotional depth of the portraits were unforgettable. The VR experience made me feel transported into art history. It wasn't just beautiful – it taught me how art connects past and present.
Definitely worth visiting if you get the chance.
Hope this helps! Li Hua
①I stood in the school auditorium (礼堂),VR headset on my head. The virtual forest buzzed with life-3D fireflies danced above a stream, their glow waving on the water. My team had spent months programming this for the Eco Youth Summit, to show how deforestation harms wildlife. The air smelled of fresh paint, and whispers from the audience reached me through the headset.
②But as judges approached, the headset suddenly went dark. Panic surged through me. I tore off the device to see Maya frozen at the control panel (控制板)."Server crashed," she mouthed, hands shaking over the black screen. "Our project- it's all gone." Murmurs rose in the crowd, and my neck burned under the stage lights.
③I scanned the judges, their expectant smiles fading. A man in green tapped his writing board; the woman beside him frowned at her watch. Then my gaze met a girl in the front row, holding a stuffed owl(猫头鹰). Her pigtails bobbed as she leaned forward, but when I shook my head, her eyes filled with disappointment-mirroring my sister's look when a trip is canceled.

④"Wait," I claimed, grabbing Maya's arm. She shrank back, but I pressed on: "What if we tell the story without VR " For a moment, she stared, then nodded sharply. Stepping to the stage edge, I said, "This forest isn't just code. It's a real home where owls nest.." My voice cracked, but words poured out-about drying rivers, about birds losing habitats.
⑤When I finished, the auditorium fell silent. Suddenly the girl rose to her feet, with her sneakers making a sharp noise:“ Instead of a virtual forest, can we plant a real tree " The audience laughed softly, and judges exchanged nods. Maya's hand found mine, steady and warm. Though the VR failed, a definite idea had taken root.

Q3: My refelction(turn the failure of VR programming into a real thing)
Para1:The crowd’s laughter faded as the head judge stood up, microphone in hand. “This young lady’s question,” he said, eyes scanning the audience, “points to something far more powerful than any virtual display.” He paused, then announced, “We’re awarding this project the ‘Inspiration Prize’—not for the technology, but for sparking real-world action.” Cheers echoed through the auditorium, and Maya and I exchanged a disbelieving look, our earlier panic replaced by joyful grins.
Para2:Two weeks later, volunteers arrived at the school with gardening tools and young trees. We worked in teams, digging holes with shovels/ v( )l/, gently placing saplings/ s pl /树苗 in the soil, and watering them with care. The girl who had asked about planting real trees led a group of younger kids, showing them how to pat down the dirt around each tree. As the day went on, rows of new trees stood upright, their leaves trembling slightly in the wind. It was amazing to see how a moment of failure had grown into a real-life project, bringing people together for a greener future.

Para1: The crowd’s laughter faded as the head judge stood up, microphone in hand. “Young people,” he began, his voice carrying across the silent auditorium, “today, you‘ve shown us more than just a failed technology. You’ve shown us the passion and determination to protect our planet.” He paused, looking around at the stunned faces in the audience. “The girl’s idea of planting a real tree instead of just creating a virtual one... that‘s the kind of thinking we need. So, while we can‘t judge your VR project today, I propose we start a new competition right here - a competition to see who can plant the most trees in our community in the next month.” The audience erupted into cheers, and I exchanged a disbelieving look with Maya. Our failure had somehow turned into an opportunity.
Para2: Two weeks later, volunteers arrived at the school with gardening tools and young trees. The girl with the stuffed owl was among them, her eyes shining with excitement. We worked side by side, digging holes, placing the saplings, and watering them with care. The head judge even joined us, his suit jacket discarded as he got his hands dirty. As I watched the new trees standing tall in the once - empty field, I realized that sometimes, when one door closes, a whole new forest of possibilities opens up. And our little idea, born out of failure, had started a real - life movement to make our world a greener place.
