Look at the sentences from the reading passage and answer the question.
1. Which of these statements are true about sentence (a)
(1) Wild animals started using these passages in the past.
(2) Wild animals used these passages only once.
(3) Wild animals still use these passages now.
2. What is the difference between the expressions in bold in sentences (a) and (b)
They are different in form and meaning. For sentence (a) the form is “have been doing”, while for sentence (b) the form is “have done” In meaning, the bold part in sentence (a) means the action is continuous from the past; while the bold part in sentence (b) means the action happened once in the past.
Present perfect continuous (现在完成进行时)
一、构成
由“have/has been +动词的现在分词”构成,第三人称单数用 has,其他人称用 have。
二、用法
1. 表示从过去开始一直持续到现在的动作,该动作在说话时仍在继续进行,可能还要继续下去,也可能刚刚结束。这个时态常和 recently、all day、this week 等状语或 for、since 引导的时间状语从句连用。
She has been cleaning the house all day. It looks tidy now.
她一整天都在打扫房子。
They have been running in the park for an hour every morning.
他们每天早上都会在公园跑步一小时。
2. 带有某种感彩。
Recently, our class has been collecting books for the rural primary school.
最近,我们班一直在给乡村小学募集图书。(正面、赞许情感 )
I’m so tired! I’ve been waiting for the bus at this stop for half an hour.
我好累啊!我已经在这个站点等公交车等了半小时了。(抱怨、疲惫情绪)

3. 不能用现在完成进行时的情况
①某些不能用于进行时的动词同样也不能用于现在完成进行时,只能用现在完成时。如:see、hear、know、have、like、be 等。
她从小时候就喜欢古典音乐。
错误:She has been liking classical music since she was a child.
正确:She has liked classical music since she was a child.
②不具有延续意义的动词,如:finish、come、go、marry等不能用于现在完成进行时。
他们已经结婚十年了。
错误:They have been marrying for ten years.
正确:They have been married for ten years.
三、现在完成时和现在完成进行时的区别
①现在完成时强调动作已经完成,但对现在有影响或其结果现在仍然存在;而现在完成进行时着意于动作本身,是一种持续的(但不一定是结束了的)活动。
I have made a model spaceship. It took me three months to finish it.
我做了一个宇宙飞船模型。做它花了我三个月时间。
I have been building a model spaceship. I plan to add more details and finish it by next month.
我一直在做一个宇宙飞船模型。我打算添加更多细节,下个月完成它。
②现在完成时陈述事实;而现在完成进行时则强调动作在不久以前持续进行的情景,并带有感彩。
My sister has broken her phone. We need to buy a new one.
我妹妹把手机摔坏了。我们得买个新的。(“has broken” 客观陈述 “手机损坏”
这个事实,聚焦结果。)
My sister has always been losing her phone! She can never be careful.
我妹妹老是把手机弄丢!她永远这么不小心。(has always been losing” 强调
“反复丢手机”,传递 “无奈、抱怨” 的情感。)
③现在完成时既可用于状态性动词,也可用于动作性动词;现在完成进行时通常只用于动作性动词。
I have owned this basketball for 5 years, with which I have won three campus matches.
这个篮球我买了 5 年了,用它赢过 3 场校园比赛 。
I have been practicing basketball with this ball for 5 years. I’m still trying to get better.
这 5 年我一直用这个篮球练球,还在努力变得更强 。
④有少数动词(如:work、study、live、teach、stay 等)在表示持续一段时间时用这两种时态含义差不多,只是用现在完成进行时更强调动作的持续性。
She has lived/has been living in this city for 10 years. 她在这个城市住了10年。
