是并列连词,连接两个对等的成分,如主语、谓语、宾语、表语、状语等,还可连接两个分句。其中also 可以省略。

是并列连词,连接两个对等的成分,如主语、谓语、宾语、表语、状语等,还可连接两个分句。其中also 可以省略。
1. not only …but also 后面所接的词性必须对等。
She not only plays well, but (also) writes music.
He is learning not only English but (also) French.
2. not only …but also 连接两个主语时,谓语动词的单复数遵循“就近原则”。
Not only Zhou xia but also her parents are like watching movies.

3. not only …but also 连接两个分句,当否定词(not only, never, hardly)位于位于句首,前面一个分句要部分倒装,but also 后的分句仍然是陈述语气。
