In your life, you are sure to meet thousands of people. Can you remember everyone My answer is no.
Before I graduated from the nursing school, I had an important exam in class. So I reviewed the lesson for a whole night. The next day when I read the last question, “What is the name of the woman who cleans our classroom ” I was surprised. I could only remember what she looked like but not her name, even though I saw her every day. Finally, I handed in my paper without finishing. My classmates couldn’t answer it, either.
After class, one of my classmates asked the teacher if the last question would affect our grades. All of us hoped to get a good result. “Of course,” the teacher said carefully. “In our lives, we will meet a lot of people. They play different roles in our society. Many of them are important and helpful to us. They always give us a hand, and what we can do is just to smile at them or greet them politely.”
I will never forget the test.
1.Why did the writer review the lesson for a whole night
2.How did the writer feel when he saw the last question
3.What do you think of the teacher according to her answer
4.What would the writer say at the end of the text (不超过10个词)

The fish spoke to him in a human voice, “Please let me go, and I will give you anything you want.” The kind fisherman set the fish free without asking for anything.
When he went back home, he told his wife about the golden fish. His wife shouted angrily, “You should have asked for a new wooden basin (木盆). Ours is broken!” Then the fisherman went to the seaside and asked the golden fish for it. And the fish met his need.
After the wife got her new basin, she also wanted a wooden house. The fisherman had to go to the seaside again. After knowing the fisherman’s need, the fish satisfied him.
Later, the wife wanted more——she wanted to be a noblewoman (贵妇) and even an empress. Each time, the fish satisfied her. However, the wife was not thankful for what she had and her greed (贪婪) grew. This time, she wanted to be the queen of the sea and hoped the fish could be her servant. The fisherman told the fish about this. Without saying anything, the fish swam away.
When the fisherman went back home, he found their life was poor again. His wife stood in the old small house with her broken basin.

We do it first thing in the morning, last thing at night, and perhaps every hour in between: scrolling (刷手机).
Scrolling is one of those things that 20 years ago none of us ever did, but now most of us do it hundreds of times a day. You may even be doing it now! But here’s the thing: we know it doesn’t make us happy!
People prefer talking to strangers over scrolling on their phones, a study has found—but that doesn’t always mean we make the right choice.
Researchers from the US wanted to compare the way people expected to feel about doing three activities, and how people actually felt after doing them. These three activities were using a smartphone, having a conversation with a stranger and sitting alone.
One group of participants predicted how they would feel when doing each of these activities, giving them a score out of 100. Another group completed each activity and gave them a score out of 100 based on how positive they felt.
While the researchers thought people might underestimate (低估) the positive (积极的) feelings they would get from talking to a stranger, they didn’t. People predicted this would give them the most positive feelings, and it did!
Another group was given more choices about what to do on their phones: watch videos, text, or scroll social media. Or they could talk to a stranger, or sit alone.
This time, watching videos was predicted to be the most positive activity, followed by talking to a stranger. However, among those who actually did it, the researchers still found that talking to a stranger was most likely to improve people’s moods (情绪). And sitting alone was always last.
So will we all scroll less and talk more
10.How does scrolling make us feel
11.What are the three activities that researchers want to compare
12.Which activity actually gave people the most positive feeling
13.What was predicted to be the second most positive activity
14.Will we scroll less and talk more Why do you think so

From April 8, 2025, pet owners can bring their cats or dogs on high-speed trains along the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway. However, pets will travel in a special area designed for them.
Why This Service Matters
Many people in China want to travel with their pets. In 2022, new rules stopped passengers from bringing animals on trains, except on some slow trains. In 2024, a survey showed people’s strong interest in pet-friendly travel, and it led to this new service.
Cost of the Service
Prices depend on travel distance (距离). For example, a trip under 1,000 km normally costs 558 yuan, but during the trial (试行) period, it is 360 yuan. A trip between 1,000—1,500 km normally costs 658 yuan, but during the trial period, it is 460 yuan.
How to Use the Service
Passengers must book tickets at least two days early through the 12306 website or app. Pets must be healthy, weigh no more than 15 kg, and be under 40 cm tall. Owners also need to show their ID and their pets’ health papers.
During the Journey
Train workers will check on the pets every two hours and provide water, but owners cannot visit or feed their pets.
Public Opinions
Some pet owners are happy. A person from Shenzhen said, “I hope more trains will allow pets so I can take my cat to visit family in Nanjing.” Others worry that pets feel stressed in the special area.
This service is a big step toward making travel easier for pet owners, but improvements may still be needed in the future.
15.What did the survey in 2024 show
16.How much will people pay for a pet on an 800-km trip during the trial period
17.What are the requirements for pets to use the service (写出两个答案即可)
18.How often will the train workers check on the pets during the journey
19.What do you think of the service Why

Math isn’t just numbers in textbooks. It’s all around us, making our world more beautiful and convenient.
Math in Poems
In Chinese poems, the numbers give us the freedom to imagine. As Li Bai wrote, “I’ve sailed a thousand miles through Gorges in a day”, “My boat has left ten thousand mountains far away”, “The waterfall rushes down three thousand feet from high” — these numbers show what Li Bai saw and how he felt. When we read the lines, there are pictures in mind.
Math in Paintings
Art and math might seem different, but together they create wonderful works! Some studies show that when Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa, he followed a special math rule called the “golden ratio” (黄金比例). The ratio was hidden in different parts of the painting, like the size of the canvas (画布), the face of the lady and the background behind her. This makes the painting beautiful and impressive (印象深刻的).
Math in Traffic
How do traffic lights “know” when to change Traffic engineers use traffic flow models (交通流量模型), a kind of math model, to help cars move smoothly. They collect plenty of data like how many cars pass by, when people cross the street, busy times of day and special events in the city. With these models, engineers can do lots of math and run many tests to study how the traffic moves better. This allows them to find the best timing for each traffic light. It makes our city green, smart and livable!
Math makes our lives better and helps us understand the world in many surprising ways!
24.What does the numbers give us in Chinese poems
25.According to the text, where was the “golden ratio” hidden
26.What kind of data can the traffic engineers collect List 2 examples.
27.How does math make your life wonderful (30 words or more)

The daughter held one apple in each hand. Her father then asked if she could share one with him. Without thinking twice, the girl took a bite (咬) from each apple before her father could even say a word.
The father was surprised and his smile was soon gone. He started to think how to teach her about sharing. He felt a little sad, thinking his daughter didn’t understand sharing.

(2025·黑龙江齐齐哈尔·三模)It is one of the loudest sounds in the ocean: the “singing” of whales. Now scientists think they have an idea of how baleen whales do it. They say the large air—breathing sea animals use a special voice box (喉) to make sounds underwater.
Scientists studied the voice boxes of dead whales: humpback, minke and sei whales. All three are part of the family of baleen whales. In the lab, the scientists blew air through the voice boxes under controlled conditions to see what parts of the voice boxes might vibrate (振动).
The results showed baleen whales do not have teeth or vocal cords (声带) like humans. Instead, they have a U-shaped tissue (组织) in their voice boxes that allows them to breathe a lot of air very quickly. Their voice boxes also include a large piece of fat and muscle (肌肉) not seen in other animals. Whales “sing” by pushing the U-shaped tissue against the fat and muscle piece.
A researcher said baleen whales depend on the sounds to communicate in the dark of the deep oceans. “For example, humpback females (雌性) and their babies communicate with each other by voice, and humpback males sing to draw females’ attention,” he added.
Scientists say the discovery is helpful for future research on how whales communicate. The whale voice boxes tested were from younger animals, not adult males. Because of that, a whale expert said further experiments on adult males are needed to show the study’s findings are correct.

36.Why did the scientists blow air through the voice boxes
37.What are the differences between the voice boxes of baleen whales and those of humans

(2025·吉林长春·三模)Slagsvold and Wiebe both have spent years studying tits (山雀). These birds lay their eggs into holes in trees, walls and even human-made boxes.
“There are few holes to choose from, so there’s always great competition for them between tits,” Wiebe said. Even after a bird owns a hole, it has to keep alert (警惕的). There’s always a chance that another bird tries to own it. Some of them can stay in the nest to keep other birds away. But feeding their children is necessary work, and at last the birds have to leave to search for food. So Slagsvold and Wiebe started to look for other ways that the birds might use to protect their “home”.
The key turned out to be feathers (羽毛). Mostly feathers help the birds keep their nests warm. But in fact, they seem to have another use. They noticed tits would drop feathers on the top of the nest, rather than putting them in. “The feathers are white, and often easy to notice,” Wiebe said, “as if the birds are trying to send a message.”
Slagsvold and Wiebe decided to find out the feathers’ another use. They built nest boxes—some feathery, some not—in Europe and North America. The intruders (入侵者) entered feather-free boxes quickly. Black feathers made them less scared than white ones did. When they see white feathers, they usually stopped outside for an hour or more. A short delay (耽搁) can make a huge difference for the nest’s true owner. “Even 20 minutes can give the owner enough time to fly back and check in, and perhaps fight off their competitors,” Wiebe said.
根据短文内容,回答下列问题。
40.Why is there always great competition for holes between tits
41.What is necessary work for tits
42.According to the passage, what are the white feathers used for
43.Where do tits drop the white feathers
