Although my seven-day experience as a volunteer teacher in Guilin, Guangxi, has come to an end, I can still see those noisy but cute kids sometimes in my dreams.
When my classmates and I first arrived in Guilin, we rode in a crowded minibus along winding (蜿蜒的) roads to a house in Yuanbaoshan Forest Park. Several local teachers came to greet us. After having a simple supper, we began preparing the lessons for the students we were about to welcome.
On the first day, we took an early boat to a primary school in a small county. The school was quite small, having only one building. Most of the students were the children of people working far from home.
Our group was teaching 3rd and 4th graders, and they were very curious about everything. After simple greetings, we all got along very well. The following days were filled with lessons, including Chinese, maths and sports. Each of the students was very active in answering questions. Physical education, which I taught, was their favorite class. One particular lesson that stood out was when I taught them how to play basketball. After I explained the basic rules and skills, they all took active part in, determined to improve their skills.
The more I taught, the more I realized that I was not just teaching subject material but also helping to shape how my students see the world. In this peaceful place, I learned that being a teacher is about more than just giving lessons: It’s about teaching values, helping kids grow and encouraging them to be their best. It’s a big responsibility, but one that I’m grateful for and will always remember.
24.What did the author do on the first night in Guilin
A.He made preparations for the class. B.He took a walk around the forest park.
C.He had a party with the local teachers. D.He went to the school to meet students.
25.Which of the following can best describe the students
A.Shy but polite. B.Noisy but generous.
C.Friendly and active. D.Determined and smart.
26.The experience made the author realize that ________.
A.teaching is just about passing on knowledge B.teaching guides students’ view of the world
C.teachers should focus on explaining class rules D.teachers should give interesting lessons
27.What is the text mainly about
A.The value of being responsible. B.How to be a good physical education teacher.
C.The author’s experience of traveling in Guilin. D.The author’s experience as a volunteer teacher.
Mount Qomolangma is located in the Himalaya Mountain range. At 8,848.86 meters, it is considered the tallest point on Earth. That’s seriously high. Think about it like this. In 2010 Dubai broke the record for the world’s tallest building with the Burj Khalifa Tower at a height of 828 meters. Qomolangma is more than ten times its height.
The Himalayan mountains have long been home to the Sherpa people. The word “Sherpa” is often used to mean the mountain guide. The Sherpa, who are used to low oxygen levels, have valuable experience in mountain climbing, which they can provide for other climbers. Most climbs to Qomolangma would be impossible without the Sherpa’s help and knowledge Traditionally, Sherpa’s lifestyle is made up of farming, herding, and trade. However, with the coming of climbers, their way of life is more than that.
Climbing Mount Qomolangma has become a popular exploration for mountain climbers However, it is a perilous task. The snow and ice on the mountain create deadly dangers. But perhaps the biggest danger is the altitude (海拔高度). Most climbers are not used to the high altitude and low oxygen levels and depend on bottled oxygen they bring along. This is why the area above 8,000 meters on Qomolangma is called the “death zone”. Climbers who spend long periods in this region can develop altitude sickness and even damage to the brain.
Mount Qomolangma’s climbing industry has become controversial (有争议的). As the popularity of the climb has increased, there have been more “traffic jams” as climbers spend too much time in the death zone waiting for their chance to climb to the top. More pollution has come up near the top with more people, as climbers often throw unwanted items away all along the mountain. Additionally, climbers have taken advantage of the Sherpa. Sherpa guides are faced with some of the highest death rates of any field of employment for rather little pay.
28.How does the author explain the height of Mount Qomolangma
A.By analyzing some facts. B.By making a comparison.
C.By providing some examples. D.By introducing a new idea.
29.What is the meaning of the underlined “perilous” in Paragraph 3
A.Traditional. B.Attractive. C.Simple. D.Dangerous.
30.What’s the problem the “death zone” facing
A.Overcrowding. B.Being enlarged.
C.More industrial pollution. D.The Sherpa’s over exploration.
31.What can be inferred about the Sherpa
A.They earn a lot by helping climbers. B.Their job as mountain guides is risky.
C.They easily develop altitude sickness. D.They changed their lifestyle completely.
Microplastics, tiny pieces of plastic less than 5 mm in length, are one of the 21st century’s biggest environmental problems. In 2021, Japanese scientists from Kyushu University estimated (估计) 24.4 trillion microplastics in the world’s upper oceans-about 30 billion half-liter water bottles, but the actual amount may be much greater. They are easily eaten by ocean creatures and transmitted through the food chain, presenting a serious threat to human and ecosystem health.
A team of researchers at Sichuan University have suggested a new solution: designing a tiny fish-shaped robot that is programmed to remove microplastics from the environment. Soft to touch and just 1.3 cm in size, the robot can move about 2.67 body lengths per second. Currently, the robot only functions on water surfaces, where it would be able to remove floating microplastics. The team aims to enable it to collect microplastics in deeper water and provide information to analyze ocean pollution in real time.
Scientists can control the robot using the light to stop it crashing into other fish or ships. If it is accidentally eaten by other fish, it can be digested (消化) without harm as it is made from a newly developed material. And the robot can recover most of its former ability and continue functioning even if it experiences some damage, which could happen often if it goes hunting for pollutants in rocky environments.
At this stage, the robo-fish is just a proof of concept (概念验证), and much more research is needed, especially into how this technology could be used in the real world. For example, the team will soon be working on more advanced robo-fish that can go deeper under the water. Still, the bionic (仿生学的) design could inspire other similar projects, like robots which could be placed inside the human body to remove unwanted materials.
32.What is the main purpose of Paragraph 1
A.To prove where microplastics come from. B.To explain how microplastics are transmitted.
C.To introduce a scientific study on microplastics. D.To show the need to fight microplastic pollution.
33.What is one feature of the robot
A.It has some self-recover ability. B.It shines at deep-water operation.
C.It is independent of human control. D.It analyzes ocean pollution in real time.
34.What will the researchers do next
A.Conduct more research on microplastics. B.Launch some similar projects on microplastics.
C.Make further improvements to the current model. D.Develop bionic robots to analyze human health.
35.Which can be a suitable title for the text
A.How can mountains of microplastics be reduced
B.The world’s oceans polluted with microplastics
C.Tiny robo-fish developed to collect microplastics
D.Why are robo-fish the key to ending oceanic pollution
When you go to the gym, you usually bring three things: a water bottle, sports shoes, and headphones. In fact, many people feel they can’t exercise without music. Surprisingly, 68% of regular exercisers say they would cancel a workout if they forgot their headphones. 36
Scientists have studied this and found that music can really help you exercise longer. A study in 2022 showed that people who listened to upbeat music during their workouts exercised 15% longer than those who didn’t listen to music. 37 So, if you want to exercise longer, try listening to upbeat music!
38 Fast-paced music, like songs with 120 to 140 beats per minute, works best for high-intensity (高强度的) training. It helps you move faster without feeling too tired. This is because your brain and body work together better with the right music.
Music also helps you feel less pain when you exercise. 39 This is called “auditory masking.” It helps you stay focused on your workout goals. If you listen to music you like, it can make you feel even better and more determined.
Music is not just for fun. 40 Surveys show that 78% of people feel more satisfied with their workouts when they listen to music. So, the next time you exercise, don’t forget your headphones. The right playlist might be the best workout partner you have!
A.The speed of the music is very important.
B.Music also helps you feel more determined.
C.It can also help you enjoy your workout more.
D.This shows how important music is for exercise.
E.Fast music lowers the intensity of your workouts.
F.Music listening focuses the brain on sound rather than pain
G.This is because music rhythm matches body movements and keeps you going.

Grace was watching out of the window as her friend Mia rode up on a new green bike.
“Grace! Come out and see my new bike.” Mia called excitedly.
Grace ran outside. “It’s so pretty!”
Mia laughed. “My dad surprised me with it today! Get your bike—let’s ride!”
Grace went back to get her bike. It was an old blue hand-me-down from her older sister. As they rode together, Mia’s new bike rolled quietly and fast, while Grace’s bike made strange noise all the time. Grace kept looking at Mia’s shiny green bike, picturing herself riding it. That evening at dinner, Grace begged eagerly. “Mom, Dad, Mia got a new bike today. Can I have one too ”
Dad put down his fork, saying gently. “Your birthday is in three months. Save up, and you can buy one yourself. It’ll mean more if you earn it.”
“Yes,” her mom agreed. “You could earn money by helping with housework.”
Though disappointed, Grace decided to try. She threw herself into chores and odd jobs, determined to make a difference. Every evening she dropped her earnings into her piggy bank, listening to the satisfying sound of coins clinking. The sound made her dream feel within reach.
One morning, the school announced the news that wildfires had destroyed the nearby forest, leaving animals injured and homeless. A donation drive would begin immediately.
That night, Grace sat on her bed, staring at her nearly full piggy bank. In her mind, she saw frightened animals with no shelter—then she pictured herself on a shiny green bike. She felt torn in half.
The next morning, she carried her heavy piggy bank to school and poured every coin into the donation box. When Mia saw the empty piggy bank, her eyes widened in disbelief. “You donate all your bike money ” Grace took a deep breath. “The animals needed it more,” she said determinedly.

1. 续写词数应为80左右;

It has a collection of more than four thousand books. Just imagine when the class is over, you’re reading your favorite book with the warm sunshine on the comfortable sofa. How relaxing it is, but always keep in mind that you should keep quiet. You may also borrow books from it, but he has some rules to follow. You can borrow at most four books at a time and keep them no longer than two weeks. If you can’t return them before they are due, you should renew them. Otherwise, you have to pay 10 cents for each book. What’s more, there are computers. Here you can surf the Internet and look for the information you need. Is there any questions you want to ask

When it comes to study tours, they are of great significance for us high school students. However, there are still some problems in current study tours, such as unclear goals and super tight schedules.
To deal with these issues, I suggest the following solutions. First, schools should establish clear learning goals so that we can learn more effectively. Additionally, activities should be better organized to allow more time for us to explore independently.
With these improvements, study tours can become both educational and enjoyable, providing us with unforgettable learning experiences. Let’s work together to make study tours truly beneficial!

Yet, as Grace’s birthday approached, her piggy bank remained half-full. On her birthday morning, she walked into the living-room, her heart heavy. But there, shining in the sunlight, stood a brand-new green bike. “This is for your kindness and efforts, sweetheart,” her dad said, hugging her. “We’re so proud of you.” Surprised and excited, Grace realized that some happiness shines brighter when earned — not just through money, but through a generous heart.
