第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。
A
The
Corn
Planting
Hatch
is
nearly
seventy.
He
and
his
wife
had
a
son,
Will,
who
was
a
fellow
always
cheerful,
bright,
alert
and
a
great
favorite
with
all
of
us.
After
high
school,
Will
went
to
Chicago,
where
he
became
a
student
in
the
Art
Institute.
Another
young
fellow,
Hal,
from
our
town,was
also
a
student
at
the
University
in
Chicago.
They
got
together
and
had
a
good
many
long
talks.
I
got
it
from
Hal
that
in
Chicago,
Will's
straightforwardness
made
him
popular
with
all
the
young
fellows.
After
Hal
graduated,
he
came
home
and
got
a
job.
He
used
to
go
quite
often
to
see
Will's
father
and
mother.
The
talk
was
always
of
Will.
Hal
said
Will's
parents
were
like
two
children
wanting
to
know
every
little
detail
Hal
could
remember
about
their
son's
life
in
the
big
city.
It
was
a
spring
night
when
Hal
got
a
wire.
Will
had
been
killed
in
a
car
accident.
We
went
along
to
take
the
message
to
Hatch
and
his
wife.
Hal
did
knock
and
old
Hatch
came
to
the
door.
He
blurt
everything
right
into
old
Hatch’s
face.
Old
Hatch
didn't
say
a
word
and
stood
there.
The
door
went
shut
again
with
a
bang.
Suddenly,
after
a
long
time,
the
old
man
got
a
hand
corn-planter
and
his
wife
got
a
bag
of
seed
corn,
and
in
the
moonlight,
that
night,
after
they
got
that
news,
they
were
planting
corn.
They
did
a
row
across
the
field,
and
then
at
the
end
of
each
row
they
knelt
side
by
side
by
the
fence.
The
whole
thing
went
on
in
silence.
It
was
the
first
time
in
my
life
I
ever
understand
something
about
the
connection
between
certain
people
and
the
earth—a
kind
of
silent
cry,
down
into
the
earth,
of
those
two
old
people,
putting
corn
down
into
the
earth.
It
was
as
though
they
were
putting
death
down
into
the
ground
that
life
might
grow
again.

B
One
of
the
greatest
influences
from
books
I've
read
this
year
came
from
the
book
Anne
of
Green
Gables.
Anne's
turning
ordinary
things
into
extraordinary
things
caught
my
eye.
She
is
clever,
fun-loving,
creative,
determined
and
occasionally
a
little
bit
absent-minded.
All
of
these
qualities
remind
me
and
help
me
realize
that
a
little
bit
of
romance,
or
imagination
should
always
be
a
part
of
all
of
us,
and
can
brighten
up
many
unpleasant
days.
Creativity
has
always
been
one
of
my
strengths,
but
as
I
have
gotten
older
it
seems
as
if,
little
by
little,
my
imagination
is
leaking
away.
There
is
no
longer
as
much
fun
in
pretending
that
I
am
a
servant
in
a
magnificent
castle,
or
a
heroine
in
one
of
my
most
beloved
books.
But
there
is
more
to
imagination
than
pretending,
isn't
there
Anne's
imagination
enabled
her
to
do
so
many
things.
She
could
be
anywhere,
fly
on
golden
wings.
Anne's
imagination
helped
her
find
the
home
where
she
belonged
and
find
friends
in
the
most
unlikely
places.
Anne
taught
me
how
important
it
was
to
be
forgiving
because
you
never
know
when
it
will
be
too
late
to
forgive.
She
also
showed
me
that
being
able
to
forgive
makes
a
big
difference
in
your
relationships
with
people.
Above
all,
the
most
important
thing
that
Anne
taught
me
was
the
fact
that
just
by
being
herself
she
was
very
liked
by
the
others
at
school.
This
made
me
realize
how
important
it
is
to
be
yourself.
Lots
of
adults
have
told
me
that
before
but
it
is
hard
because
sometimes
I
just
want
to
be
popular,
but
Anne
brought
the
message
through.
After
reading
the
first
hundred
pages
of
Anne
of
Green
Gables
I
was
inspired;
I
had
become
one
of
Anne's
kindred(同类的)
spirits.

anything
she

Have
you
ever
gotten
up
one
day
and
said
to
yourself,
"I
know
what
I
want!
I
want
to
visit
the
South
Pole!"
Well,
my
guess
is
few
of
us
have
ever
thought
about
this,
much
less
to
give
it
voice.
Antarctic
tours
offer
a
chance
to
explore
an
almost
totally
pristine(原始的)
area
of
our
planet.
Here
you
are
given
a
chance
to
see
and
experience
nature
in
its
most
pure
form,
untouched
and
unspoiled
by
civilization.
Antarctic
tours
are
usually
set
in
motion
in
the
Argentina's
capital
city
of
Buenos
Aires.
From
Buenos
Aires
one
travels
south
to
Tierra
del
Fuego
and
then
to
the
world's
southernmost
city
of
Ushuaia.
It
is
here
at
Ushuaia
that
your
Antarctic
tour
cruise
will
sail
you
on
your
way
to
South
Pole
adventures.
Sit
back
within
a
cocoon(保护)
of
warmth
and
comfort
as
you
are
gently
whisked
by
giant
glaciers
lining
Beagle
Channel
and
Drake
Passage.
After
your
arrival
at
Antarctica
you
will
be
taken
by
the
motorized
zodiac
to
the
mainland.
Here
on
the
southernmost
continent
there
are
experts
in
the
history,
biology,
geology
and
marine
life
in
a
classroom
setting
and
wild
excursions
to
aid
your
research,
your
studies
or
just
plain
curiosity.
Your
Antarctic
tour
will
bring
you
on
a
thrilling
visit
to
see
penguins,
seals,
sea
lions
and
aquatic( 水生的;水栖的)life
found
only
here.
You
will
enjoy
the
panoramic(全景的)
view
of
a
remote
archipelago(群岛,列岛)with
a
warm
temperate( 温和的)climate
and
a
colony
of
elephant.
Then
you
will
be
struck
by
the
rich
life
that
exists
only
here.
A
trip
to
Antarctica
is
a
travel
feast
for
the
senses.
Watch
in
amazement
as
a
sheer
cliff
of
ice
drifts
shining
in
the
sunlight.
You
next
experience
the
earsplitting
sound
of
ice
breaking
off
and
the
loud
sound
of
crackling
ice
as
it
tumbles
down
from
the
floating
ice
mountain
into
the
deepest
bluest
colored
water.
29.
From
Paragraph
1,
we
can
learn
that

South
Pole

would
like
to
visit
the

has
been
a
popular
place
of
interest
D.
it
is
a
pity
that
nobody
wants
to
visit
the
South
Pole
30.
According
to
the
passage,
the

A
recent
archaeological
discovery
made
in
Germany:
excavators(挖掘机)
working
to
uncover
a
Stone
Age
site
near
Leipzig
have
found
a
rather
special
ornamented
(有装饰的)purse—
one
that's
studded(镶满饰钮的)
with
a
hundred
dog
teeth.
And
according
to
the
archaeologists,
"It
seems
to
have
been
very
fashionable
at
the
time."
The
purse
was
found
at
what
is
believed
to
be
an
ancient
grave
site
dating
back
to
about
2,500
B.C.
To
date,
the
project
has
uncovered
evidence
of
Stone
and
Bronze
Age
settlements,
including
more
than
300
graves,
hundreds
of
stone
tools,
spear
points,
bone
buttons,
and
an
amber
necklace.
Nothing
at
the
site
compares
to
the
dog
teeth
purse.
Archaeologists
say
it's
a
very
unique
find,
and
an
indication
that
dogs
played
an
important
role
in
the
lives
of
Stone
Age
cultures.
Writing
in
National
Geographic
News,
Andrew
Curry
offers
some
explanations:
as
rare
as
the
dog
teeth
purse
may
be,
but
canine(犬科动物的)
teeth
are
actually
fairly
common
in
Stone
Age
northern
and
central
European
burials.
In
fact,
the
sheer
numbers
of
teeth
in
graves
around
the
region
suggest
dogs
were
as
much
livestock
as
pets—the
purse
cover
alone
required
the
teeth
of
dozens
of
animals.
In
other
area
Stone
Age
burials,
dog
and
wolf
teeth,
as
well
as
mussel
shells,
have
been
uncovered
in
patterns
that
suggest
that
corpses(僵尸)were
covered
with
studded
blankets.
More
commonly,
though,
dog
teeth
are
found
in
hair
ornaments
and
in
necklaces,
for
both
women
and
men.
Given
that
dog's
teeth
were
very
popular
back
then,
it's
difficult
to
find
out
the
exact
function
or
nature
of
the
purse.
It
very
well
could
have
been
something
"fashionable",
or
an
item
used
for
practical
or
ceremonial
purposes.
One
thing's
for
sure,
though,
it's
pretty
cool.

第二节
(共5小题,每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,选项中有两项为多余选项。
Many
countries
throughout
the
world
have
a
harvest
festival
of
some
kind.
In
North
America,
Thanksgiving
is
the
most
common
celebration,
but
what
does
it
really
mean
36
Explain
the
ancient
origins
of
the
harvest
festival
to
your
children.
In
ancient
times,
people
of
many
cultures
gave
thanks
to
their
gods
for
a
successful
harvest,
and
some
of
the
modern
Thanksgiving
celebrations
have
their
roots
in
these
ancient
festivals.
37
Explain
when
and
why
Thanksgiving
became
an
official
holiday.
In
1863,
President
Lincoln
declared
Thanksgiving
should
be
a
national
festival
from
then
on.
This
was
a
way
to
brighten
the
spirits
of
the
American
people.
38
Explain
that
one
way
of
Thanksgiving
involves
gratitude
for
having
enough
food
to
eat,
and
encourage
your
children
to
help
you
buy
groceries
for
the
food
bank,
or
make
a
donation
to
a
local
soup
kitchen.
Talk
turkey.
The
wild
turkey
is
native
to
the
eastern
states
and
northern
Mexico.
But
it
probably
wasn't
served
at
the
first
Thanksgiving
feast.
39
40
Many
books
that
discuss
the
Thanksgiving
tradition
from
a
variety
of
different
perspectives(角度)
are
available
for
readers
of
all
ages.
While
you
may
want
your
children
to
understand
the
true
history
of
the
Thanksgiving
holiday,
try
to
make
them
know
the
joy
of
the
harvest
feast,
too.
It
is
now
a
time
for
people
to
celebrate
with
family
and
friends
and
to
be
grateful
for
what
they
have.
A.
It
has
become
a
symbol
of
the
holiday.
B.
Where
could
you
enjoy
a
real
Thanksgiving
C.
And
how
could
you
explain
it
to
your
children
D.
Discuss
the
roots
of
the
American
Thanksgiving
celebration.
E.
Tell
the
children
the
way
people
celebrate
Thanksgiving
in
the
world.
F.
And
also
it's
a
good
way
to
let
the
people
remember
them.
G.
Offer
your
children
some
books.

thought
I
was
heading
east.
M:
No,
east
is
the
other
direction.
Go
down
the
road
until
you
hit
Broadway.
Then
make
a
left
turn
and
the
building
is
on
your
left
hand
side.
Do
you
want
me
to
show
you
the
way
W:
Thanks
for
the
offer,
but
I
think
I've
got
it.
Hopefully,
I
won't
get
lost
again
on
my
way
there!

W:
Welcome
to
our
program
"Eco-tour".
Today
we
are
honored
to
invite
Mr.
Burns
to
be
our
special
guest.
Welcome,
Mr.
Burns.
M:
Thanks.
Today
I'm
going
to
suggest
some
eco-tours
to
you.
W:
OK.
First
can
you
tell
us
what
countries
are
well-known
for
eco-tour
M:
Actually
there
are
lots
of
countries,
for
example,
Brazil,
Australia
and
China
are
some
of
the
popular
places
nowadays.
W:
Well,
what
can
tourists
do
in
these
countries
M:
Quite
a
lot
of
activities,
for
example,
we
can
go
dolphin-watching
in
China
and
river-rafting
in
Australia.
W:
River-rafting,
terrific!
M:
Yes,
we
can
also
go
mountain-climbing
in
Brazil
and
bird-watching
in
America.
W:
Wow,
it
sounds
great.
Mr.
Burns,
thank
you
for
your
kind
introduction.
M:
You're
welcome.

W:
Take
a
seat.
How
are
you
getting
along
M:
Fine.
Thank
you!
W:
You
are
here
as
a
doctorate
student,
aren't
you
M:
Yes,
I
am.
W:
Please
tell
me
your
background.
M:
I
graduated
from
Fudan
University
in
foreign
language
literature.
And
I
have
been
working
as
an
English
teacher
for
that
university
for
five
years.
Now
I
want
to
study
ESP,
English
for
Special
Purpose.
W:
Fine.
I
think
you'd
better
take
course
505
that
will
improve
your
spoken
English.
You
can
also
start
with
course
823.If
you
like,
you
can
take
the
History
of
American
Literature
as
an
elective
course,
too.
Here's
your
registration
slip.
M:
Thank
you.
W:
Not
at
all.
By
the
way,
what
are
your
plans
for
the
summer
vacation
M:
Oh,
I
don't
know.
I
learned
that
if
I
choose
to
enroll
myself
in
a
summer
session,
I
may
be
able
to
complete
studies
for
credits
toward
my
degree,
equal
to
those
that
I
would
earn
in
half
or
one-third
of
a
regular
academic
year.
W:
Yes,
that's
right.
But
extra
tuition
and
fee
charges
will
also
need
to
be
paid
for
those
who
attend
summer
schools.
M:
May
I
apply
for
a
part-time
job
on
the
campus
now
I
want
to
earn
some
money
for
the
summer
school.
W:
Yes.
Well,
you
can
look
through
the
list
of
these
faculty
members
looking
for
student
assistants.
M:
Thank
you
very
much.
See
you.
W:
See
you.

Millions
of
people
all
over
the
world
use
the
word
"OK".
In
fact,
some
people
say
the
word
is
used
more
often
than
any
other
word
in
the
world.
OK
means
all
right
or
acceptable.
It
expresses
agreement
or
approval.
Still,
language
experts
do
not
agree
about
where
the
word
came
from.
Some
people
say
it
came
from
the
Native
American
Indian
tribe
known
as
the
Choctaw.
The
Choctaw
word
"okeh"
means
the
same
as
the
American
word
"okay".
Experts
say
early
explorers
in
the
American
West
spoke
the
Choctaw
language
in
the
nineteenth
century.
The
language
spread
across
the
country.
But
many
people
dispute
this.
Language
expert
Allen
Walker
Read
wrote
about
the
word
"OK"
in
reports
published
in
the
nineteen
sixties.
He
said
the
word
began
being
used
in
the
eighteen
thirties.
It
was
a
short
way
of
writing
a
different
spelling
of
the
words
"all
correct".
Some
foreign-born
people
wrote
"all
correct"
as
"o-1-1
k-o-r-r-e-c-t",
and
used
the
letters
O.K.
Still
others
say
a
political
organization
invented
the
word.
The
organization
supported
Martin
Van
Buren
for
president
in
eighteen
forty.
They
called
their
group,
the
O.K.
Club.
The
letters
were
taken
from
the
name
of
the
town
where
Martin
Van
Buren
was
born-Old
Kinderhook,
New
York.
Not
everyone
agrees
with
this
explanation,
either.
But
experts
do
agree
that
the
word
is
purely
American.
And
it
has
spread
to
almost
every
country
on
earth.
